What the heck is wrong with you, Loreal Paris ?!? I hope this was only temporarily discontinued, perhaps a packaging refresh? I don’t know but to permanently remove this product from the shelves is a mistake. Nothing compares to a the unique wand/brush tip and to be quite honest, the rest of your mascara sucks. Wake up and bring it back!!!

My poor rating is due to the discontinued product only. This is hands down the best mascara. The unique wand design made my lashes look amazing. L’Oréal has countless mascara, with the old school wand. Why remove this product that was the only one in your line. Such a disappointment. I will have to move to a different brand.

This has been my favorite mascara for probably a decade and the favorite of anyone I ever recommended it to. I’ve never found another mascara I liked nearly as much as this one, I would have bought all the stock I could find had I known it was being discontinued. I won’t be giving loreal any of my money as long as this product remains discontinued.

L’Oreal lost a customer.

I have thin, wonky, short eyelashes. There aren’t words to describe how frustrated I am that L’Oreal discontinued this mascara. It’s the only one, because of the brush, that I could use and have my eyelashes look decent. I always buy several at a time, and I have one unopened package left. And I’ve tried virtually every other L’Oreal mascara, and they don’t work for me. I can’t have a gigantic brush or a very thin brush, I need the butterfly mascara brush. L’Oreal has lost a customer because they were fools to get rid of this mascara. Tells me they don’t care about their customers. (I’ll eat my words if you can point me to this particular style brush ANYWHERE else on the market.)

Why was this mascara discontinued? It was the best. I cannot find anything comparable. I bought another L'Oreal mascara but it does not compare to the butterfly voluminous. I will not buy anymore L'Oreal products for fear if I like them, they would be discontinued as well.

This is literally the best mascara I have ever used, and I’ve been using it for an extremely long time! I’m extremely upset that it has been discontinued. The wand was so effective in spreading my lashes and getting in the creases. Now, my only resort is saving the wand. I have left to see if it fits in another one of their products. This is by far the best mascara I have ever used. Not only did it make my lashes look longer the wand really did sweep the lashes up and to the side. I cannot believe you discontinued it. It was the only mascara that did not cause my eyes to itch and dry out. I have been trying to find a replacement. At least I kept the wand. Shame on you…

Heartbroken

The one star is because I can’t find it any longer! After years of trying to find a mascara that worked for me I was so happy to find this one. Have been using it for past 3 years. Only mascara that stayed on my oily lashes and the brush was designed by a genius with the ability to comb and separate the lashes. I actually looked like I had full lashes using this mascara. I’m heartbroken I can’t buy it anywhere. Unfortunately other L’Oreal mascaras I’ve tried aren’t even comparable. The new search begins unless L’Oreal brings it back.

I have tried many other mascaras over the years and none, NONE have been as good as this. I’ve tried expensive “premium” brands and I’ve tried other drug store brands with similar looking brushes and they’ve all disappointed. They run, the clump, they’re messy to apply. The applicator brush for this mascara is unmatched and I never had issues with smudging or running, and I didn’t even use the waterproof. I have been all over town looking for this and it’s gone. WHY ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH WOUKD YOU DISCONTINUE THIS!?!?

I am sickened by the fact that you chose to discontinue your Voluminous Butterfly mascara! Hands down the BEST mascara EVER! And the wing brush applicator applies it perfectly. There is no other mascara on the market with an application brush like it. Out of all your other crappy mascaras, this is the one you chose to discontinue?!?!? The butterfly mascara in waterproof has been part of my daily makeup routine since 2014/2015 and I am heartbroken to see it has been discontinued. Yes, I’ve tried the other mascaras within L’Oreal and yes, I’ve branched out to other brands as well- even high end ones, but NONE have compared to the brush and formula of butterfly in waterproof. It gave my lashes lift, lengthening, separating, and was totally clump-free. PLEASE consider bringing this back.

Just found out this is discontinued!! Why? NO!!! NO!!! This is awful. There's nothing like it, literally blows away the competition. The lengthening, thickening and the wand is fabulous. Most others don't have the same quality and they are so goopy and messy, leaving clumps or just don't work nearly as well. : (

Don’t like the brush/wand

I do not recommend this product. The engineering of the brush attached to the wand is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Instead of the brush/wand being one firm piece, the brush bends every time it touches my lashes … and I’m being very gentle. The result is uneven product and clumped lashes which are impossible to separate afterwards. I’ve used mascara for 50 years but the overall result looked like a novice applied my makeup.

Has the formula changed? I have used this for years, but suddenly my eyes become very irritated when I use it. I bought a brand new one to make sure mine hadn’t gone bad, and the same issue occurred with the brand new tube.

It’s the only one, because of the brush, that I could use and have my eyelashes look decent. I always buy several at a time, and I have one unopened package left. And I’ve tried virtually every other L’Oreal mascara, and they don’t work for me. I can’t have a gigantic brush or a very thin brush, I need the butterfly mascara brush. L’Oreal has lost a customer because they were fools to get rid of this mascara. Tells me they don’t care about their customers. (I’ll eat my words if you can point me to this particular style brush ANYWHERE else on the market.)

I soaked off the mascara the way you should for waterproof products (micellar water, oil, etc) and no matter what I used, a lot of my eyelashes came out too. It also irritated my lash line a lot.

It does it easily, too, without recoating multiple times. The brush and formula are great. However, I'm sensitive to fragrances and this has a perfume smell that never goes away. I had to throw it away. Even for those not sensitive, who wants a mashup of smells? Please make a fragrance-free version and I'll be all over it. Until then, I'm back on the hunt for good mascara.

But can we please tweak the formula a little, I wish it was a little more workable because the formulas a little dry and once dry cannot be moved. Holds a curl, makes my lashes feel soft, flakes minimally, (flaking depends on how much product is on the lashes and your eyeshape. I have a semi hooded eye. (1) Have you stopped making Voluminous Butterfly Mascara in Blackest BROWN? None of your authorized retailers seem to carry it anymore. (2) Did the formulation change in Voluminous Butterfly Mascara Blackest-Black? The last few I bought have a scent.
