Meet Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt has achieved a rare balance between critical acclaim and box-office success by playing a wide variety of roles. In the last three years, every one of her films has been among the top ten grossing films. She made her acting debut in 2012 with Student of the Year and went on to win several awards thanks to her performances in Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Dear Zindagi, Gully Boy and Gangubai Kathiawadi. The latter premiered at the Berlinale and earned Alia Bhatt her first National Award. Soon after, in 2023, she started her Hollywood career as one of the lead characters in Heart of Stone, opposite Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
A Multifaceted talent
Launched in 2019, Alia Bhatt’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, is making a name for itself by telling real, timeless stories. Alia brings powerful narratives to the screen to entertain and move audiences while supporting inclusivity and minority representation. In 2022, her debut film as a producer, Darlings, became the second most-watched non-English movie on Netflix worldwide for two weeks. She furthered this success with the widely acclaimed Amazon Prime Video Series Poacher, directed by Emmy awards winning director Richie Mehta and produced by QC, Richie Mehta, and Alia Bhatt.

Alia Bhatt was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024. She has been featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and the Fortune list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Indian Business. In 2022, she received the TIME 100 Impact Award. Alia Bhatt, who owns one of the top five Instagram accounts in India with over 85 million followers, champions environmental and social progress.
As a passionate advocate for children and the environment, Alia is actively involved in a number of philanthropic projects. Notably, she organized the Hope Gala in London to raise funds for the Salaam Bombay Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting the education and well-being of underprivileged teenagers in India. She also founded CoExist, an ecological initiative that promotes harmony between people, animals and the environment.
