Allan Avedaño Breaks Down Simona Tabasco’s L’Oréal Paris Makeup Looks at Cannes
The makeup artist explains how he gave the “White Lotus” star an Allanface.

If you’re lucky enough to have been in the chair of celebrity makeup artist Allan Avedaño, then you understand how treasured his hands are. It also means that you have joined the ranks of celebrities and hitmakers who can boast that they’ve been blessed with an “Allanface”, which for him simply means you left with a look that made you feel confident and beautiful. Of course for the rest of us that means that you left that chair looking like an angel on earth — with wings (eyeliner, that is) and everything.
Actress Simona Tabasco recently got the Allan Avedaño experience when he gave the actress an Allanface during the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival. If you’re imagining Lucia vibes for the White Lotus actress, think again, as the recently minted L’Oréal Paris expert explained that he wanted to give Tabasco a more sophisticated look than the character she played on the show.
“Lucia was such a beautiful girl but was not polished, so both nights [we did] very polished and sophisticated looks, as if Lucia met a prince and got her every dream!” Avedaño explains. “Simona is such a chameleon in real life and really loves to play, so one day I’ll get to do a grungy, smoky look on her, but her gowns and Cannes really called for classic beauty.”
He also said that he used her gowns as inspiration for her makeup as well, playing off her red gown on the first night to do an Audry Hepburn-esque look with simple winged liner, glowy skin, groomed full brows and natural soft rosy lips.
“The second night was a white gown with sage green details, [so] we went for a look that was enchanting, ethereal with a bit of sexy,” he says. “We did a barely there smoke on her eyes, flushed cheeks, flirty lashes and lush, hydrated rosy lips.”
