Was pleasantly surprised with this product. The texture of the powder is so creamy and goes on like a dream on the skin. I prefer using a buffer brush to apply the foundation since the sponge absorbs way too much of the powder. Really good staying power for a powder foundation!

Not for mature skin

I am conflicted on this one. It worked well, wore well, had wonderful coverage. But it showed off my wrinkles and dry patches like crazy.
I have combo skin, and it's more dry in the winter. So powder foundations are something I struggle with. I think this one would be wonderful for me in the summer, but it just wasn't working for me now.
No matter how I prepped, it always made my skin look dry and flaky. It settled in my lines and pores and made my dry spots worse. Even after exfoliating, moisturizing, using a hydrating primer and bb cream. Dry patches still stuck out badly.
Other than that, it was great. The coverage was amazing. It went on nicely and was buildable so I could build it up if I wanted more. It didn't feel heavy or drying (oddly since it made my skin look more dry). It lasted all day without fading or oxidizing. It matched my skin perfectly, the shade was just right.
I think this would work for me in the summer. I can wear something that's light when my skin is more oily and it won't feel heavy and sweat won't ruin it. But for now, it didn't work well.
It would be great for someone in their early 20s that still has young looking skin. It's great working foundation for someone younger. But someone with more mature or dryer skin. I don't think it will work.

Just can't due it.

I really like this foundation powder having only trying it recently, but there must be something wrong. I've purchased two, both of which immediately cracked into pieces. The first I carried in my purse and it made a complete mess. The second compact, I only used at home, and it broke up exactly the same. I would completely love this makeup if it lasted. This can't possibly be Loreal's intention. What happened?

L'oreal I think it's time to realize that maybe, you're the problem not the people who are buying the product. It's obvious the company changed the formula, cut back on quality control, stopped putting in the effort into quality ingredients and instead just wants to pass blame onto some other reason why the product keeps crumbling apart or breaking ."Use a lighter touch", "Oh no! call us and reference ######". Stop, just stop. you see dozens of photos of broken powders and complaints about it. Pull the product, fix it and then apologize already.

I have been a loyal user of the Infallible Powder Foundation for several years and truly love the coverage and finish. It has been my go-to product for a long time.
Unfortunately, I have experienced the same issue with nearly every compact I have purchased over the past two years. It often appears that small cracks are already present in the powder, and because of this the compact quickly breaks apart after only a short time of use. This has happened with the last six or seven compacts I’ve purchased.
Because the product is not inexpensive, it has become difficult to continue buying it at this rate, even though I really love how well it works. I wanted to ask if there have been any changes to the formula or packaging that might be causing this issue.
I would truly like to continue using this product and would appreciate any information or assistance you can provide.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! BREAKS UP SHORTLY AFTER USE! omg I love product - but I can't continue to buy ever again because it breaks up right away!! I've used this for YEARS! BUT loreal changed something & it breaks up now. Never used to. I'm going with a totally different brand because of this. L'OREAL.. pls fix this or you will lose your customer base.

Cracks up immediately

Bought the infallible powder twice first at Walgreens and the second in Walmart. Both cracked up in less than 6 weeks. I don’t use it everyday. First I thought it was from traveling on a plane and then it gapoened with the second purchase again. It is frustating because I like it but it is a waste of money.

Very fallible

Breaks up and falls apart. Can't carry in your purse. My lastest one hasn't left my medicine cabinet. Literally have only used it 5 times, and it just fell out!! I managed to pick up a few large pieces, but the rest are too small and/or wet from the sink!

Crumbled Into Pieces Though Lightly Used

It was a great product until this happened. About 6 months after purchasing. I use it only 3-4 days a week. Pretty much unusable now. It stays in my bathroom, not in my purse. Far too expensive for this to happen!

Product Will Break Apart

I purchased this to use for contouring on my cheek bones, jawline, and forehead. It came out very pretty on my skin, but I was skeptical of the many reviews about it breaking thinking that it was all nonsense. Well it wasn’t nonsense AT ALL, 2 weeks in my compact broke, I didn’t drop it and only use light dusting and a brush to obtain the product. I would not recommend buying this is you want to have something that lasts. I threw mine away and will move back to a brand that doesn’t break apart while still very new.

Love It, but Quality has Diminished.

I’ve been using this product for years, and even though I love it, I’m starting to hate it because the quality has gone down. This powder now cracks and breaks just after a couple uses when it never did that before. I’ve bought more thinking it was just a bad batch, and they all broke a part after initial use. Its DEFINITELY not the original powder which was amazing! I've tried this off and on after the original was discontinued and it's disappointingly cakey.. and no longer has that light, fresh feel. It's gross. Loreal would do well to bring back the original 16 hour pro matte foundation in a powder. We all loved it! I keep searching Loreal products hoping they bring back the same qualities in a new product.

Not good.

I used the old version of this, Loreal pro matte 16 hour powder Foundation, since it came out and am sad it was discontinued. It PERFECTLY matched my skin tone, was never cakey and made my acne prone, sun spot skin look incredible. Since it was reformulated to this, it's HORRIBLE. It cakes. It's thick. It makes my skin gross. I'd ask Loreal to bring back the old one.. that NO other foundation on the market compares to but I've already tried. They don't care. I'd not recommend this foundation powder. It's a total disappointment.

Love this powder!!! Bought 3x already but it keeps breaking!! Cant carry it on my purse coz its a mess!! Pls do change the formulation coz the powder itself is perfect!!!

Best powder foundation

Best powder foundation I have used, and I’ve used several. Not too powdery looking, goes on smoothly, a good amount of coverage for a powder foundation. Highly recommend.

The best. Ever.

I won't wear anything else. I went from wearing 3 layers of liquid and powders to my lotion with sunscreen and this. The weight of all that product was awful. By the end of the day I was a greasy mess. This is the BEST. I won't ever go back. As a mom of 2 girls, I don't get much mirror time - the fast and easy coverage is amazing.

Give us a solution to the crumbling product

I have bought this product a few times in #140 Golden Beige & love it. There does, however, need to be a fix to the problem of the makeup cracking & crumbling after using it a while. What the heck does Loreal want we, the consumers to do, in order to use this product and stop wasting our money? Help!!!

Great coverage but terrible packaging

I love this powder and it’s coverage, however, L’Oréal needs to come up with a better packaging because I spend $17 on this powder and this compact never last more than a week until it starts crumbling and breaking apart which leads me to have to throw it away and buy another one or buy another product that lasts longer. If it had better packaging, I’d love the product more!

I have bought this product 3 times, I love the coverage and it works great but the powder keeps breaking and becomes very messy and unusable. It’s pretty expensive to keep replacing them when they break within a month of purchase. 🥲

Decent dupe for bare minerals

I was broke as a joke back in January 2022 when I was between jobs and ran out of my trusted Bare Minerals. I bought this from Amazon for nine dollars to carry me through for six weeks. I normally wear Bare Minerals shade 01 and purchased this foundation in the shade Pearl (lightest shade). For the price I bought it at, it did a phenomenal job. It does transfer onto a face mask a little without a setting spray, but not horribly. You have to really rub at it or wear a mask all day for it to transfer off, and even then you won’t be left with weird patches or lines on your face. The finish also looked almost identical to Bare Minerals power ( this one was just a bit more matte and fuller coverage). I went back to bare minerals after having the finances to do so six weeks later because I preferred the feel of it on my face (this one is not heavy per se, but it isn’t as weightless as bare minerals either). I only took off a star because I think what it costs now ($17) is ridiculous.

[Employee of loreal] Was pleasantly surprised with this product. The texture of the powder is so creamy and goes on like a dream on the skin. I prefer using a buffer brush to apply the foundation since the sponge absorbs way too much of the powder. Really good staying power for a powder foundation!

FALLS APART/HUGE MESS/ WASTE OF MONEY

I bought two of these and within one week they have both fallen apart. When I open the case makeup goes everywhere. It’s on my clothes and in my sink and on my floor or all over my car. I love the product itself but I just now threw them both in the garbage. It’s not worth the mess and then the case won’t close until I clean up all the pieces around the edges. Total waste of money. I will never purchase this or anything else from L’Oréal again.
