The 4th of July is just around the corner—and along with the chance to show off your strawberry banana brownies and grilling skills comes the opportunity to have some fun with your makeup. Instead of applying your everyday no makeup, makeup look, why not have a little fun with patriotic colors? If you’re ready to apply red, white, and blue makeup, you’re in luck— because we’ve come up with three ways to stylishly rock the look. Follow along to find out how to master these gorgeous 4th of July makeup trends!

4th of July Makeup Idea #1: Star Spangled Cut Crease

Let your eyes steal the show with this super-fun red, white, and blue makeup look.

Step 1: Prime your lids. Help create a smooth base for your eye makeup application by using a primer first. If you don’t have an eye primer on hand, you can dab on a tiny bit of concealer onto your lids.

Step 2: Cover your lids in white shadow. Start your statement eye look with the lightest color, since it’s easiest to blend in. Dip a fluffy eye shadow brush into the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Petite Perle and extend it just past your crease.

Step 3: Line your eyes with wing tips. Trace along the contour of your lash line with a thick line of red liquid eyeliner that flicks up beyond the outer corners of the eye.

Step 4: Create your cut crease. Using a densely-bristled precision eye shadow brush, apply red eye shadow along your crease mimicking the curve of your wing tip. Blend the shadow up towards your brow line, nearly touching the front of your brow before curving down and out under the tail, leaving room for highlight. When applying your shadow, make sure to keep your lid below your crease completely clean so as to maintain the sharp cut of the statement look.

Step 5: Highlight your brow bone and inner eye. Dab a dot of your eye shadow at the inner corners of your eyes and just under the tail end of your brows.

Step 6: Shade your under-eye area. Next, dip your precision eye shadow brush into the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Midnight Blue to coat your under-eye area with color. After applying a line along your lower lash line, use a fluffy shadow brush to blend it a bit further down for a slight ombré effect.

Step 7: Add stars under your eyes. Use the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Eyeliner in White Party to draw three to four tiny stars on top of the blended blue shadow under your eyes.

Step 8: Finish with mascara. No statement eye is complete without volumizing mascara, so swipe on a coat of the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara before heading out the door.

4th of July Makeup Idea #2: Classic Red Lip

There’s nothing like a classic red lip to make a serious style statement. With the ability to completely transform an entire look, red lipstick should be applied with care. Start by using a lip scrub to help exfoliate dead skin cells from your lip’s surface, then apply a lip primer, line your lips with a red lip liner, and finally put on your lipstick. Try the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Red Lipcolor in Liya’s Red or the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints/Lip in DIY Red.

4th of July Makeup Idea #3: Silver Halo Eye

If you want to rock a statement eye while still keeping things relatively low-key, wear metallic eye shadow, one of this summer’s hottest looks.

Step 1: Prep your lids. Help smooth your lids by applying an eye makeup primer (or concealer) first.

Step 2: Apply silver shadow. Use a fluffy eye shadow brush to blend the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Metallics Eye Shadow in Aluminum Foil across your upper lid and lower lid, connecting at the corners.

Step 3: Define lashes with blue mascara. To add a patriotic touch, coat your lashes with the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara in Cobalt Blue.

Pair with a classic red lip and you’ll have everyone seeing stars as soon as they glance in your direction!
