Facial oil can seem like a taboo skin care product to some. However, the reality of it is: Facial oil is something that should be a part of anyone’s skin care routine – no matter your skin type.
Facial oils help provide a youthful glow to the skin. As your skin ages your natural oil production will decrease. So that means that even if you rarely experienced dry skin in the past, your chances of having dry skin as you get older increases. Facial oil can help encourage a more luminous glow to dry or mature skin.
You can apply facial oil in the morning and at night after cleansing and moisturizing. First you will use/apply your serum, then your moisturizer and finally the facial oil to seal in the added moisture. Apply your makeup as you usually would if it is daytime. Follow these five steps when applying facial oil:
Step 1: Apply four to five drops of facial oil into your fingertips.
Step 2: Gently smooth the facial oil from your nose to your ears.
Step 3: Smooth from your eyebrows to your hairline in an upward motion; always against gravity.
Step 4: Smooth from your neck to your jawline until absorbed.
Pro tip: Avoid smoothing oil into your hair, the formula does not make your skin look greasy but could have that affect on your hair.
