eye makeup How To Create A Rainbow Eyeshadow Look

When it comes to eye makeup, we love incorporating bold and bright hues. And using colorful eyeshadows is the perfect way to add a subtle pop to your overall beauty look. If you're the type of person that prefers using traditional soft and smokey hues, we’re here to convince you to take a spin on the colorful side. Adding a little color into your eye makeup look could be just what your makeup routine needs to jazz it up a bit. And rocking a rainbow-inspired eyeshadow look is one of the easiest ways to get into colorful eye makeup. So grab your eyeshadow brushes and read on for a step-by-step tutorial on how to create a stunning rainbow eyeshadow look.

The Look: Rainbow Pastel Eyeshadow

For a colorful upgrade on your traditional eyeshadow look, try incorporating a few bright pastel hues to create a beautiful rainbow gradient. Start by prepping your lids with an eyeshadow primer or concealer, like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Eye Cream in a Concealer, 0.5% Hyaluronic Acid. Squeeze a dime-sized amount of concealer onto your ring finger and then dab it gently onto your eyelids until it has blended out smoothly.

STEP 1: Grab a large fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply both pink eyeshadow shades from the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Palette Eye Shadow in Avenue Des Roses into the inner corner of your eyes and upper crease. Keep packing on the pink shades until you get the color intensity you like.

STEP 2: Use a clean fluffy eyeshadow brush and layer the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Burst Into Bloom right next to the pink hue and extend it onto the center lid. Then tap some of the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Timeless Blue Spark onto the outer corners and blend out any harsh lines with a clean brush.

STEP 3: Pick up a flat eyeshadow brush and layer the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Golden Emerald right next to the blue hue. Be sure to apply this green hue into a wing-like shape at the outer corner of your eyes and drag the color down onto the outer corners of the lower lid. Make sure to blend out all of your colors well!

STEP 4: Grab a small pointed eyeshadow brush and apply a yellow hue like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Eternal Sunshine along the lower lash line. Then highlight the bottom of your eyebrows using the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Petite Perle

STEP 5: Create a cat eye wing using the L’Oréal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Dip Eyeliner, Waterproof in Black. And swipe on a few coats of the L’Oréal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara, Lightweight Mega Volume Washable in Blackest Black for extra drama.

STEP 6: Complete the look by adding a cool eyeliner effect to your crease. Use the L’Oréal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Dip Eyeliner, Waterproof and draw on a small line starting at the center of your crease bone and extend it to the outer corner of your eye. Then trace along that line with a white eyeliner to create a double liner effect.

Bonus Step: Define Your Brows

While this step is totally optional, we highly recommend it. Defining your eyebrows can really pull together a statement eye makeup look. Grab the L’Oréal Paris Unbelieva-Brow Longwear Waterproof Brow Gel to fill in and shape your brows. Use the doe foot applicator to fill in any sparse areas. Then, use the angled brush to define and sharpen your eyebrow shape. Finish your brows off by combing through them to blend out the product.
