Sharpening solution for pro last eye pencil
Love this pencil. It glides on easy because it's a soft pencil. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the only way to advance the pencil was to use a sharpener because soft pencils usually crumble in a sharpener. I read the reviews and this was always the complaint. The company came back with " use a sharpener, don't push the pencil while sharpening, turn slowly 3-4 times". So I tried that making sure it did not grab the soft part but only the black casing around the soft pencil part. It worked! The key is to not push the pencil into the blade. Insert it but don't jamb the end.. Gently turn it like they say. It will grab the black casing and do it's job.

Best pencil ever!!
I went onto the L’Oréal website to find the name of the pencil I use cause my husband bought the wrong one. I use this pencil so much I’m down to about an inch left of it. To the reviews that mentions that it doesn’t sharpen I’m confused, like what sharpeners are you guys using. I have a cheap 4 sharpener from maybelline and it sharpens my pencil perfectly every time. This is my 12th pencil I’ve purchased and I honestly hope these reviews won’t discontinue it.

Infallible Por-Last can't sharpen
Unable to sharpen it with any sharpener. I opened it so can't return it. So disappointed. I am out about 13$. You should give a sharpener that works with it.

Tip is too wide and short lived
The liner tip only lasted a couple of weeks. The top of the pencil twists but the pencil does not extend. A waste of money

I love it!
I love this eyeliner I used it on my wedding day in 2023 and have been repurchasing ever since. It lasted all night! It sharpens perfectly fine in my opinion. I did read the reviews about people having trouble sharping them and never had the issue tbh. But that’s because I use a cheap pencil sharpener to sharpen all my liners instead of a cosmetic sharpener. Since it’s a thicker plastic. some cosmetic sharpeners are made for plastic liners and some aren’t so it really depends on the sharpener

Great at first…..
I really liked the idea of having a waterproof eyeliner. Directions read that the pencil can be sharpened. With the hard plastic cover there is no way to sharpen this. I paid over $10 to only use the product about five times. I have since read other reviews and get the same answer for each of them about using a good sharpener not gonna happen. I certainly would love to be able to get a refund.

It stays put!
I don’t understand the negative comments, my only negative would be the color choices.
I have watery mature eyes (58) and have a horrible time keeping eyeliner on. I’ve tried more expensive ones that claim to stay but they don’t.
Once this is on, it stays! If I work quickly, I can blend it a bit.
I just wish there were more shades without shimmer.
This is now a staple part of my makeup routine.

Waste of money
It’s wonderful until it has to be sharpened. Once sharpened the end of the liner is too wide to apply like an eyeliner.

Can’t sharpen it.
I liked how nicely this went on and lasted without smudging.
But after a week the point was getting full and there was no way to sharpen it. My regular eye sharpener just caused it to splinter scratching my eyelid in the process.
What a waste of money.

Difficult but good
Nice product, difficult to sharpen and you need to be sure the casing isn't too sharp when finished. I do like how it stays on without smudging. It last the day through which for me is worth the hassle. I'm halfway thru and trying to decide if I should purchase again.

Do not buy
This is a waste of money. There is no way to push more product out. Turning the end does nothing. The Q&A only mentions sharpening with a sharpener, but there is not enough of the eyeliner sticking out to sharpen. I was only able to use it about 5 times and now it's garbage.

Can't sharpen so used it only for 1 week
the package didn't indicate how to get more out of the tip/crayon so I assumed it was either twist or sharpen type. Even thought the bottom twists, nothing happened. Had to look through quite a bit of reviews and L'orieal pages to find out that you need an industrial-grade eye pencil sharpener. Total waste of my money, my first for the L'oreal products which I usually love.

Do not buy. Try another eyeliner.
I had high hopes for this eyeliner. Purchased the cobalt blue and grey shade. They do not hold a tip well and need to be sharpened often. At that point the tip always breaks off. Do not waste your money on these products. Very disappointing.

I agree with the other reviews. You cannot sharpen the pencil with a standard eye make-up sharpener.
I could only use the pencil 8 times before it flattened out, making it impossible to use again! Who designed this product?

Too expensive to work less that 2 weeks!
I cannot advance the pencil. It has a sharp point when bought but after that point is gone the pencil won’t move. This is an e pensive product to have it only last about 2weeks. Very disappointed in the product, but love the color 950 Grey Gris

Poor design- will never buy this again
Like so many others, I bought this loved the color and the application then couldn’t sharpen it. Such a waste money for a liner that you can only use a couple times. I tried with a brand new sharpener and light pressure as they keep recommending to others. The plastic casing comes out jagged and the tip breaks off. You would think with thousands of reviews like this the company would issue a recall or offer a refund and redesign the mechanics of this pencil. You can’t blame user error on the thousands of bad reviews. This tells you that the design is flawed. L’Oréal, if you stand by your products and care about your customers you will make this right. There are too many negative reviews.

It is fallable.
Tip broke off. When I bought it I didn't notice it was a pencil. There is a hard plastic coating on it. I couldn't sharpen it. Had to use a Cutco knife. Every time I sharpened it the soft tip would break off. It's a shame because the eyeliner stays on and doesn't smudge. Too bad.

Terrible design
Spent even more money on a brand new sharpener, it doesn't work. Very disappointed as I loved the color. More disappointed that the company's only response is that people are sharpening it wrong. Only lasts a week or two.

It is unfortunate the pencil itself is so poorly made. The eyeliner is great but it is not worth the money or frustration, as sharpening does not work. I have tried multiple sharpeners, the problem is the hard plastic casing.

This is a terrible eye pencil. I bought it another time before and it does the same thing you can’t even sharpen it. I really don’t know. I thought it was when you turn in the lead with the whatever it is would come up, but it doesn’t so I went to sharpen it and made it worse, maybe you need to change this pencil I’m not the only one that says that. If I were you, I tried to look into this. I buy multiple items of L’Oreal hair, eyeliner mascara whatever I really like this company, but I really don’t like this pencil.

Same as all commenting here - it worked awesome for about a week, then sharpening is impossible, even with the recommended sharpener. Save your money. Do not buy. How could you sell this??

Broken trust
I was duped by the L’Oréal company with this eyeliner! Who reads the tiny print that a special or brand new sharpener is required. On top of that, specific technique to sharpen. Tried it and now I have a brand new pencil and sharpener that do me no good. Not sure when I’ll trust another L’Oréal product.

Hard to sharpen.
Loreal is my go to for "drug store" makeup products and I am usually never disappointed, however, the Infallible Pro Last pencil eyeliner was a huge fail for me. The first time I used it, I loved the color (840 Bronze) and the fact that it stayed all day. The second time I went to sharpen it was when I had the problem. I tried three different sharpeners and nothing worked. I got kind of a point but the plastic pencil part was rough and jagged and actually scratched my eye. The pencil became short as I was attempting to sharpen it. Total waste of money in these hard times. $10 for one use! Please Loreal do better with this product.

A good long wearing eye liner----but its horrible and Loreal should be ashamed of selling this product because it can not be sharpened!!! They say it can but it comes out jagged on the plastic pencil and you lose a lot of the product while trying to sharpen. I threw it away after it lost the point. Really Loreal you can't do better than this? For the cost of the eyeliner we should not have this much trouble sharpening it. Just about every review mentions this.

Need a mechanical version of Pro-Last liner.
I love the Pro-Last eye liner but like every review I have read having to sharpen it is a problem. Sometimes when sharpening it will leave a jagged edge that scratches my eye. Considering the negative reviews about sharpening, would it be possible to make one that is mechanical. So much easier. I don't want to have to change but I may have to. Please don't reply with needing a better sharpener. Already done that. Thank you.

Difficult to keep sharp
I love this liner but will no longer buy it because sharpening is an issue. I get about 4-5 uses then it goes too low and the plastic outer layer makes it difficult to sharpen. Why not just turn the bottom to lengthen the liner??

Super difficult to sharpen this pencil. the product stays on throughout the day, but you can't use the whole pencil as you waste it trying to sharpen it. It is expensive for what you get out of it. I will not be purchasing this again.
