My hair was breaking off from using a popular styling product. I applied this last night, wrapped it in plastic wrap and rinsed it out. My hair feels like silk. Beautiful, looks great and has height. Well worth the purchase and I will do this again every week. My hair will now be easily managed and look moisturized.

This product is amazing! My hair was like straw and fried spit ends after having highlights. My curls were gone also. I applied this balm after shampooing and I could immediately see curls coming back!. My hair is soft and very manageable! Thank you L’Oréal Paris for a small price giving big results! Love it!

This is not a miracle working conditioner but I believe it does a good job conditioning very dry hair. I had a terrible experience this past summer getting my hair hilighted by a so called professional who insisted that the lightener she was using was vegan and wouldn't harm my hair. HA!! My hair is fried. Anyway, after that, no conditioner would even get through my hair no matter what I did. Out of desperation I thought I would try this and lo and behold I was actually able to get my fingers through my hair when working it in. I was so happy I almost cried in the shower lol. I am able to comb it through and I leave it in for a few minutes and it's good to go. Like I said...it's not a miracle worker but at least I don't dread shampooing my hair as much as I used to while I deal with growing this mess out. I don't use it every time I shampoo, but I do notice best results after I use a build-up removing shampoo (I use a lot of styling product so I need to do that from time to time.) I hope this helped and good luck!

Why did you change the smell. I recently bought a new bottle and the smell is disgusting.I had another full bottle of the old version at my beach house fortunately because I could not stand the new smell, the new scent does not work the same it is drying.

GREAT PRODUCT!! But can someone PLEASE ADVISE what you are supposed to do after you rinse TR5 out?? Do you rinse, then style as usual or add conditioner? I want to ensure my hair is conditioned but don’t want to over condition either.

It contains yellow 5 and yellow 6 coloring and turns your hair VERY yellow after a single use. It immediately made my normally gorgeous cool blonde balayage look like something that came out of a drugstore box dye session. Yuck! I had to saturate my hair in purple shampoo and leave it in to remove all of the yellow coloring this product left behind. There’s a reason hair products are white or clear in color and I’m baffled that they would add yellow dye to their product.

My hair was so stiff that when I took it out of a bun, it would just stay in place. It was so bad I hated going out in public with how damaged it was. I saw this product at target and left it in my hair for a few hours. Immediately there was a HUGE difference. I now use this mask as a leave in conditioner probably once a week. My hair is the softest it has ever been and I never cut any of that chemically damaged hair out. This mask is the only thing I added to my routine and it brought my hair back to life. I recommend this mask to everyone I know because it is just that good !

My once super-easy hair has been damaged beyond belief after wrongfully trusting one of those "made for you!" customizable hair care companies. I have spent the last year trying strengthen my hair, get rid of split ends, give any volume at all, bring back the waves I used to have, and desperately trying to make sure I don’t lose any more hair (I have an awful thinned out spot right at the back of my part now!). I’ve had some, but not great, success so far…until now! I picked up this Elvive mask and tried it out last night. I used my regular shampoo, then used my regular conditioner (very quick application from root to tip, to untangle the thinned-out, damaged section on my scalp). Once I rinsed that out, I used this mask, fully saturating my hair from about the chin downwards, and working a little bit up towards the roots. I left it on for the recommended 3-5 minutes and rinsed. Used no additional product, did not try to encourage curls in my hair, nothing. When I woke up this morning, I had the most perfect wave on a little section right by my face, as well as several hints of waves throughout the rest of my hair. It all fell out within an hour of being up and moving, but that’s okay…that’s the most I’ve seen in about two years. Now that the waves are out, I can’t stop marveling at my hair. It feels soft, silky, and weightless, and has more shine than I’ve seen it have in a long time. Only time will tell for long-term results, and I will continue my search for additional products to add to my arsenal, but I am truly amazed at the results of this. As a final bonus, the scent is pleasant, not overpowering, and fairly neutral – I don’t think it would “compete” with the scent of most other hair products!

They warned me that the lice treatment would destroy our hair to book an appointment for a deep conditioner treatment, which I did for myself, but didn’t feel the need to do so for my children and went out in search of a conditioning treatment I could do myself. That’s where I found this! I found it completely by accident in the hair care aisle and figured I would give it a shot and I’m so glad I did! Our hair was damaged to the point where it felt like dreadlocked straw but now after just one treatment, i was actually able to run a comb through it! It’s still not perfect but it’s a thousand times better then it was and I canceled my appointment! This stuff is amazing! Oh, and it smells good too! :)

I have very fine hair that I color treat, so my hair was becoming frizzy , dull and unattractive. This product makes me proud of my hair again. To the person that mentioned wanting a travel container.. I just put it into a smaller plastic jar for travel. Or better yet, spoon some into a ziplock bag. You can squeeze it out to use, and when you have used the last of it, turn the bag inside out, put your hand in the bag and rub on your hair.

The first time I used this product my hair felt SO much softer, smoother, and smelled great for multiple days. It definitely made my split ends less noticeable and my hair felt like I had naturally straight, sleek hair, whereas before it felt like coarse curly hair that had been straightened. I could see this being too heavy for thin, already sleek/oily hair, but for dry, damaged hair it's a miracle! It gave me comparable results to much more expensive products and it will last me months.

This product should definitely only be used on extremely dried & fried, especially color-treated hair, basically anyone with noticeably damaged hair, split ends, etc. Also, I'd recommend using only if you have optimal to thick hair, and to probably only use this treatment 1x/wk, because it truly is a miracle worker on my disgustingly over-processed THICK hair, and reading some of the negative reviews, I could only guess these people had great hair to begin with, and/or anything but very thick, coarse hair, like mine. Maybe it was left on too long, or maybe not left in the hair long enough? Before committing to the product, I bought the sample packet, which I noticed is offered everywhere the full size product is sold, so it's truly beneficial & I'd recommend doing that for anyone who's on the fence about whether to purchase or not.

I tried L'Oreal Elvive Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm and just after two uses, I am amazed by the amount of repair of my hair. My hair has almost completely quit breaking and has regained much of its shine. Again.....I'VE ONLY USED IT TWICE SO FAR!!! Thank you for this product and its effects on my hair. I am thoroughly impressed and will switch to only using L'Oreal hair products just because of this one!

I'm a hair mask snob and have basically tried them all. For the price point, you can't beat it. Does pretty good for a drugstore product....and if you're on a budget? Awesome sauce! Smells nice also, but it isn't the perfect hair treatment....my hair isn't as smooth as I'd like unless I add other products in, but all in all? I'd definitely buy it again!

After nearly 20 years of dying and straightening, my hair was feeling straw-like and frizzy. I stopped dying my hair 2 months ago and have concentrated on healing and repairing it, this product, along with the Total Repair shampoo, have helped tremendously.

At 70, with rich, strawberry colored hair, and curly, this is a miracle. I use the curly shampoo/&rich shampoo from Loreal . I go a step farther. With curly hair, finally found out do not towel dry. Use an old cotton t shirt. Squeeze hair. Put this rich cream in hair. Use only fingers to spread evenly. Put on a plastic hair shower cap. Cover with a large sexy colorful scarf. Rince out hours latter, or me, the next morning. I use a 2 pumps of SHINE & 2 pumps of Anti Frizz L'Oreal serum, distribute. I have not use heat in dozens of years. Air dry. Or like me, I like controlled curls. I set with smith curlers on top. No brush curlers, frizz up hair. And I use Bobby pins to set the rest of hair. I do that at night. Wake up, Un pin hair. Add one pump each of shine and antifreeze serum, style hair. Glowing shinning frizz free, natural curls in hot humid FLORIDA. EVEN AT MY AGE..LRARNING.

I needed a couple things at Amazon and needed a few more bucks to get free shipping so added this and boy am I glad I did! This stuff is gold! It's fantastic! I seriously could not believe the difference in my hair after one use. As I'm aging, my hair is thinning and what's left is very fine, frizzy hair, almost like cotton candyish. This balm smoothed everything out, kept the frizz away even on my non-wash day! I will now start using a couple times a week instead of my salon masks that I put on my head and leave for a couple hours (with plastic cap). This does FAR better in 5 minutes than what I've used for years! THANKS L'oreal!

DO NOT USE IT FOR OVERNIGHTbecause it WILL do the exact opposite of what it’s used for ..... going to start doing it how it says and I will see how it is but for right now the ends on my hair is damaged it looks like fake frazzled hair ... (if h ever tried straightening your faux extensions you had in middle school and it shriveled up type look)

It has a thick, non watery feel to it and I can see why they chose to call it a balm, because that is exactly what it feels like. I love the smell, and my hair felt soft and smooth after using this. The only downfall is the packaging. It is very nice looking, but with wet/slippery hands it can be kind of hard to open and close.

Last year my hair was falling out in clumps due to stress. I went from big beautiful fro to Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction lol I finally started a weekly hair routine recently and I use this with every wash and deep condition. My hair has grown probably an inch within 2 weeks and it feels so soft and hydrated and my ends feel great. Definitely recommend if you have type 4 hair.
