It's so soft it breaks if you have more that 1/8 inch extended. If you use the sharpener, it breaks and doesn't sharpen. I can get a point by shaping with my fingers IF I'm very careful and don't extend it much. I do like the way it looks when I can get the pencil adjusted, so it gets a couple of stars. Too expensive to be so difficult to use.

It was the one eyeliner that lasted all day and the one eyeliner pencil that lasted me at least 1-2 months of use. I recently purchased new eyeliner pencils and have been very disappointed. I have purchased almost 8 new ones for them to either stop twisting where it can no longer be used, or for the product to have no eyeliner left in the pencil just after a few uses. These purchases have been made through amazon and walmart. I am very disappointed as i have to continue to purchase new eyeliners weekly.

I had a couple of pencils in which the material was hard and failed to adhere smoothly, but it now seems likely that it was the fault of the retailer, and not the product, as the newest pencil I'm using works beautifully as advertised. i will definitely keep using Infallible.

However, the formula must have been changed, because the last four Matte-Magic eyeliners I've purchased have worked for me perfectly for just the first few applications, smoothly defining a line exactly where I want it, but after about a week, the tip became hard and would not leave even a trace of color!

So no big deal, I can thin it by using a q-tip. The real issue is how easily it smudges. After about two hours (sometimes not even), I get almost a double line or what looks like raccoon eyes. I’ve tried using it several different times and unfortunately this happens every single time. I’m tossing this as I’m tired of having to correct my eyeliner every hour.

After perusing the numerous eyeliner pencils available for purchase, I decided on L’Oréal’s Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner. What separates this eyeliner from the others is the pencil’s design. The black one worked but now is stubbed at the tip and there is no way that tip turns to sharpen. The violet one simply falls out of the pencil - no grab at end of pencil. Tried turning the bottom on both and neither one turns, even with pliers! So I tried turning the top portion and the pliers twisted and broke it off. I am VERY UNHAPPY with this Loreal product. Someone at QC needs to get this fixed and quickly! This is a great product if it only was packaged properly.

But then the liner seemed to just dry out...it would be easier to apply a mechanical #2 pencil than the eyeliner. I used it for my eyes and brows with no problem. Meanwhile, the new rubber version rubs my skin more than it smudges the line. It pulled out eyebrow hairs when I tried to use it for multipurpose (I recognize it isn’t meant for that, but still disappointed). I notice that the felt smudged pencil doesn’t seem to be available anymore and I’m sad. I will be searching other companies for a similar product. Kind of upset that I bought 2 new l’oreal Eyeliners that couldn’t compare to the tried and true product.

Two weeks ago I purchased a new Black Brown Mechanical Pencil and the pencil literally broke in half! I could not even use it that morning because the liner was stuck inside the broken half. My allergies cause my eyes to water constantly and this product stops my makeup from turning into an absolute mess. The color is creamy and beautiful and it stays on ALL DAY long. However, I am a very unsatisfied customer because the click-to-turn mechanism failed and I am unable to use the remaining product in the pencil. I've only used the pencil 5 times and now I must toss it in the trash because I'm unable to use it. Highly disappointing.

A little lighter in color, but worked well for a natural lined eyes. It does tug a bit and the smudger in the end works if you hurry before the product dries. Decent, but not my favorite eyeliner from L’Oréal and it goes really quick.

After a few wears I needed to turn the bottom for more eyeliner. Nope it dosn't come up. I am very disappointed. Some of us can't afford to buy a new eyeli er every week. I did like the way it went on and stayed. Maybe I got bad one. Should I take a chance and try again or does this happen frequently?

I’ve been in contacts for 12 years. And I made multiple various attempts at trying to make this eye liner work but no matter how I applied, when I applied (before or after contact insertion), this eye liner ended up on my contacts.
