This hairspray does the opposite of weather control. It makes my hair stiff and frizzy. Bring back Bold Conrol and get rid of this.

Terrible product

Evidently, this product has been replaced with the humidity control hairspray. Probably the worst hairspray I've ever used. I've used the weather control for years and loved it, but this hairspray comes out in wet drops. I guess I will have to change to a different brand as this is not even usable. I've tried three different cans and have had to return all three. What a disappointment.

Why change a good thing?

I thought I had finally found my go-to hairspray after my long time favorite was discontinued. I only got to use 2 cans before either the spray nozzle or formula was changed. Instead of a fine mist, it now comes out like a fire extinguisher. It's sticky and gets all over everything, and makes it difficult to have the hairstyle you started with before spraying.

New cans are horrible

Horrible! The last 3 cans I’ve bought are just horrible! I returned them to Walmart because I thought they were defective. Until I saw these reviews I found out I wasn’t alone. The spray is terrible, it just spits large bubbles of hairspray all over my head. It leaves my hair too wet and heavy. I first bought it because it worked so well, I won’t buy it again.

Change is not good!

If I could give zero stars I would! I have been a loyal customer for years! But you changed something, the last three can I got is wet and sticky, I thought it was the straying top with the first one, but when the second and third was just the same. Please change back or lose many customers! After reading these reviews seems like everyone is having these issues and are not happy about it!

Don't waste your money

Terrible reformulation of a once great product. The hold is so much weaker and yet somehow heavier than it used to be. How?! Add myself to the list of people who have been using this for many years. This one is going in the garbage. Disappointed that I will have to search for something new.

awful now that they changed to water....

It is no longer water free! It is all water! I have used this spray for several years. The only one that would keep my frizzies away. Now, they changed to water based and my hair is horrible! I will be finding another spray to use. I'm so disappointed.

If you’re gonna adjust the formula, then you need to adjust the cap for the delivery system. It comes up in globs and chunks on your hair. It used to be a great product and now it’s awful. I am disappointed in your quality control. Very unlike L’Oreal.

Change it back!

I used to use this all the time and loved it. Recently bought a can and noticed how wet it felt. Looked at 1st ingredient. WATER? Are you kidding me? You cannot call this anti humidity hairspray and add water as 1st ingredient. Need to take a page out of Aussie Instant Freeze book and change it back. They found out the hard way just like you will. Stop messing with something that works! This can will be going back to Walmart today in exchange for the Aussie once again.

Humidity control is a damper and very wer

I have been using the weather control hairspray for years. It is or was the best hairspray on the market. The replacement, humidity control is absolutely horrible. The spray is like a watery mist that does nothing but wet your hair and mat it down. It is nothing like the other spray and I will now have to find another brand to purchase. I loved the weather control but you can keep your rain soaked humidity spary. Please bring it back!!!

Formula change is a big miss. No longer usable

We have used this product for years and recently I bought a can and the spray came out heavy and in small globs. I returned it to the store and got another can. Same problem with each new can. I called L'oreal and asked if there was a formula change in the product which they confirmed. We will not be buying this product any more. Our house went through 3 cans a month. I'm not trying to over complain but I wonder if it was even tested against the old product. So wet and heavy I don't know how one would use it.

New formulation is the WORST!

The Lock It Weather Control, my fave for many years, has been replaced with Lock IT HUMIDITY control which basically changed a wonderful styling product into silly string. The new name and formulation now sprays an often clogged up and poorly directed spray of very wet, goopy, stinky (even the scent has been changed), uneven stream of useless product. Then it leaves one with sticky, gummy, and crunchy hair with NO HOLD. I think they had to try hard to make a product this bad and replace/relable one that was so nice! WHY?!?!?!?!?!

Horrible spraying

You have to go back to the original spray nozzle as there is something going wrong to much pressure. It’s spraying to hard and actually foaming as it shoots out. I have been a loyal customer for years and love this hairspray but not anymore. Had to switch to a different brand as the spray nozzle sucks.

A disaster of a change

I’ve already spoken with an agent about this issue, but wanted to add my voice here and echo what everyone else is saying: the former product was the best hairspray I’ve ever used and this new formulation is the absolute worst. Heavy, wet-like-water, gets all over my clothes, and does not control anything. Please let me know if the old formulation is coming back!!!

DON'T BUY ---Worst spray EVER!

I have been using this spray for years and just now started having issues with it so................I came on the site to email to customer service regarding the Loreal Lock it hairspray; however, once I started reading the reviews, I realized that it was not just the new cans I have gotten. The 1st can I bought I thought for sure was a defective nozzle so I had my husband replace the nozzle from the "old" can I had just finished but that didn't seem to solve the problem. The spray just came out feeling like I was getting a shower, bubbled up at the nozzle and made me feel like I needed to wash my hair again after styling it and spraying with this hairspray. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt and bought a 2nd can and have the same issue. The previous formula was better than any spray I could get from my hairdresser. My hair is very hard to hold in place and this is the only spray I have found to hold it in place without weighing it down but I will be on the lookout for a new hairspray now. I've only spent $18.00 but I am extremely disappointed to have to be on the search for a new spray. I agree with a previous comment.... If I could give ZERO stars I would. This formula is truly awful and I feel I could probably buy spray at a Dollar Tree or Dollar General store and get a better spray. If the formula is not changed back I am sure there will be many customers looking for better options. So sad to see a company change a product that worked so well to one that is as awful as this one is now to (I'm sure) to plump up the company's bottom line.

The new formula is horrible for those of us who have fine hair. I have purchased this hairspray faithfully for years because it didn't instantly weigh my hair down. This new formula flattens my hair, and the result looks awful. I blow dry to fluff up my baby-fine hair, and then this flattens it.

Epic fail

Awful! What happened

Had to see I am not going insane. I took one bottle back because I thought something was wrong with the nozzle and just purchased another one only to have the same thing. I spray a little bit on my hair and it feels like the whole thing is saturated and crunchy and crusty. I have been using this hairspray for so many years. I'm so tired of companies changing a good thing. Time to find another brand. Now I have to wash my hair again. This is just terrible

Loved it for years....until formula change ruined

Horrible change

The new formula is horrible. This has been my go to hairspray for over 10 years, but the new spray is wet and sprays everywhere. Purchased 5 cans recently, what a waste of $40. Today more got on my shirt then on my hair. Will be looking for a new brand immediately.

Great product before the reformulation

I would give the old formulation of this hairspray, a 20 out of five. It was the very best hairspray on the market for fine hair and I would argue maybe the only hairspray on the market for fine hair. Unfortunately, the new formulation is the worst and if I could give it zero stars, I would have made that my rating. It comes out in heavy drops, no matter how far you hold the can it’s like spraying a water hose at your hair when you have your hair done. Which anyone with fine limp hair, especially in humidity would tell you this is the worst thing for our type of hair. I first thought maybe I just got a bad can so I went and bought another one only to have the same issue. I guess I’m now on a hunt for a hairspray that will actually work on my type of hair.

Very disappointed

I have used this spray for years now. I thought maybe I was the only one having this issue but reading the reviews I don’t feel as unlucky as I have been! I am on can number 5 (all Still full mind you) and have now determined that it is not in fact the nozzle that has been giving me trouble. Every time I spray the bottles, my hair is loaded up with tons of wet beads of spray that leave their mark on my hair. It’s awful and makes my already fine hair looking wet and limp. I really tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and just get more and more cans but at this point, not only am I left with five unused cans that I can’t even use, but I am also out almost $50!!! Not sure what you changed, but you should really change it back. As for me, I’m going to have to change my brand.

Formula Changed!

Recently there has been a change to this amazing product. I've purchased this product for years now after Tressemme pulled a fast one on their volume hairspray. Anyways, It went from being labeled as 'Weather' to 'Humidity'. The product works terribly now. Many customers are experiencing the same issue. It sprays more liquid than mist now. I'm not sure if this is replacing the 'weather' version but if it does, I can only imagine a shift in losing customers.

The recent redesign has RUINED this product

I thought I received a defective product, but other customer reviews confirm my suspicions - L'Oreal has changed not only the nozzle, but even worse, the formula of this once amazing product. The sprayer floods the hair with spray, rather than the fine, manageable, and styleable mist. It feels like spraying pure water on the hair - which spells disaster for my fine, heat straightened bangs. The end result is chunky and gluey and leaves my hair greasy, even when freshly washed. The "Humidity Control" formula redesign with water as the main ingredient is the nail in the coffin for this product. After being my one and only hairspray for at least 7 years, I will need to shift my loyalty to another brand. L'Oreal, PLEASE listen to your customers and bring back the original "Weather Control" product!

Product changed, no longer good

Product has been changed and is no longer good, I will be changing and throwing away the bottles I bought. It no longer holds well, it sprays out super watery and doesn’t let you style your hair, it leaves my hair looking shiny and dark which it didn’t used to do.

Terrible, sticky and clumps like bubbles

I have been using lock it weather control for years and loved it, then I bought it like I usually do every couple of weeks and suddenly the spray came out like bubbles and was so sticky. I thought it was just something wrong with the sprayer so I bought another one and same thing happened. I kept thinking I was getting a bad batch and now I have 5 cans and can’t use them its terrible and also my hair has been breaking and thinning so bad and started around same time that I started to use the new formula which I didn’t realize it was different until I read all these reviews.i think it made my hair so sticky that when I brushed it, it made my hair break. I spoke to my dr. About it and she advised to do a treatment of rosemary oil to start the growth back in my hair. I was so upset I couldn’t imagine why my hair was breaking but now I hear all these reviews I think this is the problem with breakage. I have thin hair to begin with and now with all the breakage it is so bad that it has caused me so much anxiety over it. I would appreciate it if you contact me

Was the best hairspray around, now it’s horrible

This product had a very good formula that both smelled good and had a fine mist. Then they went and changed the scent and it was horrendous. After a while they fixed that problem, but now it doesn’t have a fine mist. When sprayed, it weighs the hair down so much and makes it look so wet. Would not recommend, unless they change the formula to how it was back then.

Once the perfect hairspray, now it’s useless

Adding my voice to the chorus of long loyal customers who are kinda devastated with the recent changes. I’ve been using this hairspray for at least 7 years. I must have funded a good chunk of someone’s salary one year how many cans I go through. Please take our criticism seriously and consider going back to the original design. I’ll gladly pay a little more even, if the change is about cost cutting. I have bizarrely thin, straight, and porous hair, this is the only hairspray that’s ever worked for me, now it’s useless. Unless and until the original is brought back, I can’t be buying anymore.

Why change the name to humidity control and first ingredient is water. This does not work at all. I started using this weather control after my brand switched formulas to water as the first ingredient. Now I have to find another hairspray.

You cannot call this anti humidity hairspray and add water as 1st ingredient. Need to take a page out of Aussie Instant Freeze book and change it back. They found out the hard way just like you will. Stop messing with something that works! This can will be going back to Walmart today in exchange for the Aussie once again.

The replacement, humidity control is absolutely horrible. The spray is like a watery mist that does nothing but wet your hair and mat it down. I returned it to the store and got another can. Same problem with each new can. I called L'oreal and asked if there was a formula change in the product which they confirmed. We will not be buying this product any more. Our house went through 3 cans a month. I'm not trying to over complain but I wonder if it was even tested against the old product. So wet and heavy I don't know how one would use it.

The Lock It Weather Control, my fave for many years, has been replaced with Lock IT HUMIDITY control which basically changed a wonderful styling product into silly string. The new name and formulation now sprays an often clogged up and poorly directed spray of very wet, goopy, stinky (even the scent has been changed), uneven stream of useless product. Then it leaves one with sticky, gummy, and crunchy hair with NO HOLD. I think they had to try hard to make a product this bad and replace/relable one that was so nice! WHY?!?!?!?!?!

I have been using this spray for years and just now started having issues with it so................I came on the site to email to customer service regarding the Loreal Lock it hairspray; however, once I started reading the reviews, I realized that it was not just the new cans I have gotten. The 1st can I bought I thought for sure was a defective nozzle so I had my husband replace the nozzle from the "old" can I had just finished but that didn't seem to solve the problem. The spray just came out feeling like I was getting a shower, bubbled up at the nozzle and made me feel like I needed to wash my hair again after styling it and spraying with this hairspray. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt and bought a 2nd can and have the same issue. The previous formula was better than any spray I could get from my hairdresser. My hair is very hard to hold in place and this is the only spray I have found to hold it in place without weighing it down but I will be on the lookout for a new hairspray now. I've only spent $18.00 but I am extremely disappointed to have to be on the search for a new spray. I agree with a previous comment.... If I could give ZERO stars I would. This formula is truly awful and I feel I could probably buy spray at a Dollar Tree or Dollar General store and get a better spray. If the formula is not changed back I am sure there will be many customers looking for better options. So sad to see a company change a product that worked so well to one that is as awful as this one is now to (I'm sure) to plump up the company's bottom line.

It was the very best hairspray on the market for fine hair and I would argue maybe the only hairspray on the market for fine hair. Unfortunately, the new formulation is the worst and if I could give it zero stars, I would have made that my rating. It comes out in heavy drops, no matter how far you hold the can it’s like spraying a water hose at your hair when you have your hair done. Which anyone with fine limp hair, especially in humidity would tell you this is the worst thing for our type of hair. I first thought maybe I just got a bad can so I went and bought another one only to have the same issue. I guess I’m now on a hunt for a hairspray that will actually work on my type of hair.

I thought maybe I was the only one having this issue but reading the reviews I don’t feel as unlucky as I have been! I am on can number 5 (all Still full mind you) and have now determined that it is not in fact the nozzle that has been giving me trouble. Every time I spray the bottles, my hair is loaded up with tons of wet beads of spray that leave their mark on my hair. It’s awful and makes my already fine hair looking wet and limp. I really tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and just get more and more cans but at this point, not only am I left with five unused cans that I can’t even use, but I am also out almost $50!!! Not sure what you changed, but you should really change it back. As for me, I’m going to have to change my brand.

I've purchased this product for years now after Tressemme pulled a fast one on their volume hairspray. Anyways, It went from being labeled as 'Weather' to 'Humidity'. The product works terribly now. Many customers are experiencing the same issue. It sprays more liquid than mist now. I'm not sure if this is replacing the 'weather' version but if it does, I can only imagine a shift in losing customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ae303 from The recent redesign has RUINED this product I thought I received a defective product, but other customer reviews confirm my suspicions - L'Oreal has changed not only the nozzle, but even worse, the formula of this once amazing product. The sprayer floods the hair with spray, rather than the fine, manageable, and styleable mist. It feels like spraying pure water on the hair - which spells disaster for my fine, heat straightened bangs. The end result is chunky and gluey and leaves my hair greasy, even when freshly washed. The "Humidity Control" formula redesign with water as the main ingredient is the nail in the coffin for this product. After being my one and only hairspray for at least 7 years, I will need to shift my loyalty to another brand. L'Oreal, PLEASE listen to your customers and bring back the original "Weather Control" product!

It no longer holds well, it sprays out super watery and doesn’t let you style your hair, it leaves my hair looking shiny and dark which it didn’t used to do.

I thought it was just something wrong with the sprayer so I bought another one and same thing happened. I kept thinking I was getting a bad batch and now I have 5 cans and can’t use them its terrible and also my hair has been breaking and thinning so bad and started around same time that I started to use the new formula which I didn’t realize it was different until I read all these reviews.i think it made my hair so sticky that when I brushed it, it made my hair break. I spoke to my dr. About it and she advised to do a treatment of rosemary oil to start the growth back in my hair. I was so upset I couldn’t imagine why my hair was breaking but now I hear all these reviews I think this is the problem with breakage. I have thin hair to begin with and now with all the breakage it is so bad that it has caused me so much anxiety over it. I would appreciate it if you contact me

Then they went and changed the scent and it was horrendous. After a while they fixed that problem, but now it doesn’t have a fine mist. When sprayed, it weighs the hair down so much and makes it look so wet. Would not recommend, unless they change the formula to how it was back then.

I’ve been using this hairspray for at least 7 years. I must have funded a good chunk of someone’s salary one year how many cans I go through. Please take our criticism seriously and consider going back to the original design. I’ll gladly pay a little more even, if the change is about cost cutting. I have bizarrely thin, straight, and porous hair, this is the only hairspray that’s ever worked for me, now it’s useless. Unless and until the original is brought back, I can’t be buying anymore.

The spray is splotchy and leaves bubbles on my hair. The can also bubbles. Please fix the delivery mechanism in this product. I threw it away and bought another. After the same result and my hair looking like CRAP for three weeks I researched and the formula has changed. I threw that can away. It's horrible. I and many others implore you to change it back. I cannot use this product with the new formula. The name has changed to humidity control. It looks like my hair on the worst humid day in August.

So disappointing, I have used this hairspray for years and now it sprays out in wet clumps. And I stuck with 4 bad cans.

After some investigation I realized that the product coming out of Canada does not say water free on the can. This can from Canada is the one that has the terrible formula. The can made in the USA is the good hairspray that you used to have. I don't know why you are sourcing from Canada but it is a terrible formula. US version says water free, Canadian version does not, hence the heavy wetness!!

I have baby fine, limp hair & this spray makes my hair look full & thicker & holds really well! I receive compliments all the time because of this hairspray & always mention it so others can purchase it to try. Recently the spray has changed & the nozzles are spraying all over & making my hair wet & sticky & frizzy! I noticed there is aqua water added which is terrible now! I have about 12 cans that I can’t use now because it’s no good for my hair. I have to look for another product! I’m so disappointed. I have purchased it so many times over the years & the only thing I have used because it worked so well! I usually keep stock at least a dozen cans so I have plenty on hand & now I can’t even use them. I really wish you could go back to the original ingredients & nozzles! Been using this hairspray and recently have purchased at least 9 cans of it only to have it spray out very heavy and wet instead of the fine mist it used to spray. I currently have four cans that I am unable to use and I am going in search of a different brand today! I have recommended this product for many years to those who were looking for that humidity control. Now I can no longer recommend as it actually makes hair wet, sticky, and frizzy! Very dissatisfied!!

The hold was wonderful and not heavy. The last 2 cans have been so disappointing. The spray is thick and wet. It really hard to use b/c my hair then clumps together where the hairspray beads on my hair. Please go back to the nozzles that were used before.

I could not believe how many negative reviews on this hairspray since the formula had been changed and I TOTALLY agree with them all "the new hairspray formula comes out "WET" very wet. The only good thing 'it doesn't stink'. The reply I got from the L'Oreal Contact was to try another L'Oreal hairspray (forgot the name of it) and a lot of the reviews on that product "new formula and the smell stinks". No thank you! What happened to quality control? Someone's not doing a quality job!

The change to this hairspray is terrible! When I spray it on, it is super heavy! I can not style my hair like I did with the other product! Before L’Oréal I used Kenra hairspray and loved it! Then I discovered your hair the old formula! I can’t use this product anymore! It’s way too wet and way too heavy! Why did you change the formula that was perfect and replace with awful?! Sad I stocked up on several bottles that probably will be going in the garbage. Changing this line was a bad move.... won't buy again unless it is changed back. Wets my hair in clumps, you can't style your hair with fingers, pink or anything. Not liking it all now. Looking for a replacement brand.

Currently in search of a replacement product bc this new Humidity version made with water and is not the same! Many of us loyal customers are accidentally buying this new “version/mixture” of the product we used to love! I have used this product faithfully for at least 10 years, With the last couple of cans I bought I should have just flushed $20.00. It is now watery, leaves a film, does not hold, it and does not even compare in quality with the original. Unless the original formula is returned, I will not be purchasing again. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with Loreal for this change.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed the changes with this product. The spray comes out clumpy and very wet. It doesn’t seem to hold well, so you put more on. Then it’s so wet that it just looks like crap. I thought it was a bad lot, so I bought another from a different store..same thing!! I HATE it now. I’m so disappointed. I’ve used the spray for a long time and watched the price go from $4.00 per bottle to now $9. I will no longer purchase this spray. Do better L’Oréal

The spray comes out of the can so fiercely it creates a part in your hair where there previously was not one. Also leaves your hair sticky, wet and then stiff. Exactly everything you DO NOT WANT in a hairspray. Absolute crap, didn't you have a focus group test this before you released it to the public? SO DISAPPOINTED!

It is horrible, has a very wet spray and very forceful. I don’t know why they changed a good product. I won’t be purchasing anymore unless they go back to the original weather control hairspray.

I don't know if you changed the formula or the spray head, or the pressure of the can, but it comes out with a layer of wet and rather than hold my hair, it weighs it down. I am so disappointed and will be looking for a better product unless you go back to the old version.
