I USED to love this product... but since you changed the formula, IT SUCKS!!! Your description says "Water-free and humidity resistant hairspray". Read your own label on the back... water is the 1st ingredient listed! Matter of fact IT'S ALL WATER! I WILL NEVER USE THIS AGAIN!!!

Terrible change!

I NEVER write reviews, but the recent change to the formula for this product has been so incredibly disappointing that the felt like I needed to let the company know. I LOVED the previous product, and regularly purchased 3 cans at a time! I now have 3 cans of something that I can’t even use! I truly hope you will consider going back the original formula!!

Used to be The Best!

This used to be my favorite hairspray. The spray now comes out as a hose. It is not misting, it is drenching my hair. I currently have seven brand new bottles sitting in my closet because I kept buying new bottles thinking there was a manufacturing issue. Nope. Every can will be going in the trash because wet sticky hair is not okay. This used to be a miracle product. No longer. Please bring back the old formula or can! Thank you!

Funky spray pattern

Change in formula

There has been a recent change to this product, making it now horrible to use. The nozzle gushes out. The hairspray is much heavier and thicker and weighs your hair down. The new nozzle also sprays and burst leaving bubble remnants all over your hair. Not happy with this change at all. Will no longer buy this product unless it’s changed back to the original.

Disappointing!

I have used this product for years, very disappointed in the new formula. It is very water like, leaves my hair hard and crunchy. The sprayer tip is terrible also, it does not spray out evenly. Very disappointed in this product currently. I will be returning my last can purchased. Time to look for a new hairspray.

New formula not good!

I’ve used the lock it hairspray for years. I liked it better than any professional line but now in the last year or six months it comes out like water leaves dried droplets in your hair that looks like lice very disappointed because it was my favorite. Must’ve been a formula change.

product has changed for the worse

I have been buying this product for years and loved it. I now have 2 cans at home that seems like it is just spraying water out. I don't know what to do with it, it is horrible. I didn't mind paying the price for it when it worked, now it is horrible!! Is there a way of getting my money back since there is $20 of product that I cant use? Very disappointed. I guess I need to find another hair spray.

broken product

I have purchased this product for many years and loved it for my fine hair. I have 8 cans in my closet, unable to return to amazon, cannot use. The spray comes out wet and you did not fix anything; you broke the product. Please return the formula or packaging back to the original!

clumoy spray isnt good

Aqua/Water as first ingredient is horrible!

I’ve used your Lock It hair spray for years! There used to be “Weather” Control and “Humidity” Control Hair Spray. I normally buy them from Walmart. Walmart advertises online they have “Weather” Control but what you actually get it is “Humidity” Control. I just happen to have several cans of “Humidity” Control (because I stock up and have returned at least 4 cans back to Walmart because the spray is so thick, stiff and sticky). The difference between the two is the “Weather” Control’s first ingredient is Alcohol Denat. and the first ingredient in “Humidity” Control is Aqua/Water/Eau. The “Humidity” Control is HORRIBLE! The spray is so think it leaves white clumps in my hair till it drys. My tile flooring is left with spots of hair spray and my rug is sticky & wet. PLEASE, PLEASE go back to the old formula! I have a few other brands of hair spray and none of them have Aqua/Water as their first ingredient. I am currently looking for a new strong hold air spray to use till L’Oréal changes back to their original ingredients.

What Changed?

I’ve been using your hairspray for years and loved it until recently. I’m not sure if the issue is with the nozzle or the formula itself, but something seems different. Sometimes it sprays normally, but other times it comes out in a straight stream and leaves wet spots on my hair. My hair also ends up feeling hard and sticky instead of the finish I used to get. At first, I thought I had just purchased one defective can, but I currently have four cans sitting on my vanity that all seem to have the same issue. I purchased them from both Target and Amazon, so it doesn’t appear to be related to one retailer. Can you please let me know if the formula or nozzle design has changed recently? I really don’t want to switch brands because I’ve been loyal to your product for years, but I also can’t keep wasting money on products that aren’t working properly.

Clogged from the start!!!

to begin with, the second or third time I used this can, it clogged. now it sprays in clomps -- big drops of hairspray and not even at all. -- So, I'm stuck with pretty much a full can of hairspray that I can't use. I'll set it aside for a few days, thinking it will get better, then as soon as I spray it, I remember.... crap! When the spray did work ok, the stuff gets my hair so plastered, so when I comb it, it breaks.... I will not be recommending this at all

Loreal Lock It Hairspray Gone Bad

I concur with all of the recent posts in regards to this hairspray. I have used it for years and always loved to finalize my hairstyle with this product. It was previously a very fine mist that would finish the style off nicely. However, the product now comes out like a water hose, leaving my hair wet in nature, with tiny beads of liquid showering all over my hair. In fact, it literally gets not only my hair wet, but my skin, clothes, etc. In addition once it dries, it feels like my hair has been glued down, very stiff and heavy. Please, please, please bring back the old formula. For now, I have found that Garnier Fructis Style Full Control Hairspray 24H Hold - Anti-Humidity - Bounce Back Hold - Ultra Strong Hold 4 in the green can will be my go to. I always liked Loreal's Lock It better for the final style, but not until the formula changes. I too have tried three different cans, thinking that surely the can I purchased was defective, but have had to return all three and what a disappointment and hassle!

Broken sprayer

I ordered 3 cans of hairspray from Amazon. I still had a can that I was using, so I didn't know they were defective until after the 30 day return period. So now I have 3 cans that don't spray, they just fizzle at the nozzle. You lost a long time customer! I will never buy this hairspray again!

Unnecessary formula change.

I have been using this hairpray for years and i was so happy to find a spray that would hold my fine hair. I have been having problems with the spray coming out in big globs, ruining my hairstyle. I am really frustrated because I learned of the formula change through a google search. Nothing was mentioned to me at all when I emailed L'Oreal to notify them of what i thought was faulty propellant or a bad production batch. Back to the drawing board to find a decent hairspray, as I wont be wasting any more money on this product.

Terrible product

Evidently, this product has been replaced with the humidity control hairspray. Probably the worst hairspray I've ever used. I've used the weather control for years and loved it, but this hairspray comes out in wet drops. I guess I will have to change to a different brand as this is not even usable. I've tried three different cans and have had to return all three. What a disappointment.

Why change a good thing?

I thought I had finally found my go-to hairspray after my long time favorite was discontinued. I only got to use 2 cans before either the spray nozzle or formula was changed. Instead of a fine mist, it now comes out like a fire extinguisher. It's sticky and gets all over everything, and makes it difficult to have the hairstyle you started with before spraying.

I recently bought 2 cans (I thought the first had a damaged nozzle.) of Lock It Humidity without realizing that you renamed it & changed the formula. The new stuff is horrible! Instead of a fine mist it is like white foam or mousse. It goes everywhere. It’s heavy and the minute it touches my hair, it goes flat. I can’t imagine what testers thought this was good. Please bring back the original Weather Control. Sadly, I’m already searching for a new hairspray.

I have used Lock It Weather Control for years and love it. I recently bought 2 cans (I thought the first can had a damaged nozzle.) of Lock It without realizing that you renamed it to Humidity Control and changed the whole formula. The new stuff is horrible. It is not a fine mist but rather what looks like white foam. It goes everywhere! It's heavy and the minute it touches my hair, it goes flat. I can't imagine what testers thought this stuff was good. Horrible! The last 3 cans I’ve bought are just horrible! I returned them to Walmart because I thought they were defective. Until I saw these reviews I found out I wasn’t alone. The spray is terrible, it just spits large bubbles of hairspray all over my head. It leaves my hair too wet and heavy. I first bought it because it worked so well, I won’t buy it again.

But you changed something, the last three can I got is wet and sticky, I thought it was the straying top with the first one, but when the second and third was just the same. Don't waste your money

Terrible reformulation of a once great product. The hold is so much weaker and yet somehow heavier than it used to be. How?! Add myself to the list of people who have been using this for many years. This one is going in the garbage. Disappointed that I will have to search for something new.

awful now that they changed to water....

It is no longer water free! It is all water! I have used this spray for several years. The only one that would keep my frizzies away. Now, they changed to water based and my hair is horrible! I will be finding another spray to use. I'm so disappointed.

Change it back!

I used to use this all the time and loved it. Recently bought a can and noticed how wet it felt. Looked at 1st ingredient. WATER? Are you kidding me? You cannot call this anti humidity hairspray and add water as 1st ingredient. Need to take a page out of Aussie Instant Freeze book and change it back. They found out the hard way just like you will. Stop messing with something that works! This can will be going back to Walmart today in exchange for the Aussie once again.

I have been using the weather control hairspray for years. It is or was the best hairspray on the market. The replacement, humidity control is absolutely horrible. The spray is like a watery mist that does nothing but wet your hair and mat it down. It is nothing like the other spray and I will now have to find another brand to purchase. I normally buy them from Walmart. Walmart advertises online they have “Weather” Control but what you actually get it is “Humidity” Control. I just happen to have several cans of “Humidity” Control (because I stock up and have returned at least 4 cans back to Walmart because the spray is so thick, stiff and sticky). The difference between the two is the “Weather” Control’s first ingredient is Alcohol Denat. and the first ingredient in “Humidity” Control is Aqua/Water/Eau. The “Humidity” Control is HORRIBLE! The spray is so think it leaves white clumps in my hair till it drys. My tile flooring is left with spots of hair spray and my rug is sticky & wet. PLEASE, PLEASE go back to the old formula! I have a few other brands of hair spray and none of them have Aqua/Water as their first ingredient. I am currently looking for a new strong hold air spray to use till L’Oréal changes back to their original ingredients.

I have used it for years and always loved to finalize my hairstyle with this product. It was previously a very fine mist that would finish the style off nicely. However, the product now comes out like a water hose, leaving my hair wet in nature, with tiny beads of liquid showering all over my hair. In fact, it literally gets not only my hair wet, but my skin, clothes, etc. In addition once it dries, it feels like my hair has been glued down, very stiff and heavy. Please, please, please bring back the old formula. For now, I have found that Garnier Fructis Style Full Control Hairspray 24H Hold - Anti-Humidity - Bounce Back Hold - Ultra Strong Hold 4 in the green can will be my go to. I always liked Loreal's Lock It better for the final style, but not until the formula changes. I too have tried three different cans, thinking that surely the can I purchased was defective, but have had to return all three and what a disappointment and hassle!

I have been having problems with the spray coming out in big globs, ruining my hairstyle. I am really frustrated because I learned of the formula change through a google search. Until I saw these reviews I found out I wasn’t alone. The spray is terrible, it just spits large bubbles of hairspray all over my head. It leaves my hair too wet and heavy. I first bought it because it worked so well, I won’t buy it again.

But you changed something, the last three can I got is wet and sticky, I thought it was the straying top with the first one, but when the second and third was just the same. Please change back or lose many customers! After reading these reviews seems like everyone is having these issues and are not happy about it!

You cannot call this anti humidity hairspray and add water as 1st ingredient. Need to take a page out of Aussie Instant Freeze book and change it back. They found out the hard way just like you will. Stop messing with something that works! This can will be going back to Walmart today in exchange for the Aussie once again.

The replacement, humidity control is absolutely horrible. The spray is like a watery mist that does nothing but wet your hair and mat it down. I returned it to the store and got another can. Same problem with each new can. I called L'oreal and asked if there was a formula change in the product which they confirmed. We will not be buying this product any more. Our house went through 3 cans a month. I'm not trying to over complain but I wonder if it was even tested against the old product. So wet and heavy I don't know how one would use it.

The Lock It Weather Control, my fave for many years, has been replaced with Lock IT HUMIDITY control which basically changed a wonderful styling product into silly string. The new name and formulation now sprays an often clogged up and poorly directed spray of very wet, goopy, stinky (even the scent has been changed), uneven stream of useless product. Then it leaves one with sticky, gummy, and crunchy hair with NO HOLD. I think they had to try hard to make a product this bad and replace/relable one that was so nice! WHY?!?!?!?!?!

It’s spraying to hard and actually foaming as it shoots out. I have been a loyal customer for years and love this hairspray but not anymore. Heavy, wet-like-water, gets all over my clothes, and does not control anything. Please let me know if the old formulation is coming back!!!

I have been using this spray for years and just now started having issues with it so................I came on the site to email to customer service regarding the Loreal Lock it hairspray; however, once I started reading the reviews, I realized that it was not just the new cans I have gotten. The 1st can I bought I thought for sure was a defective nozzle so I had my husband replace the nozzle from the "old" can I had just finished but that didn't seem to solve the problem. The spray just came out feeling like I was getting a shower, bubbled up at the nozzle and made me feel like I needed to wash my hair again after styling it and spraying with this hairspray. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt and bought a 2nd can and have the same issue. The previous formula was better than any spray I could get from my hairdresser. My hair is very hard to hold in place and this is the only spray I have found to hold it in place without weighing it down but I will be on the lookout for a new hairspray now. I've only spent $18.00 but I am extremely disappointed to have to be on the search for a new spray. I agree with a previous comment.... If I could give ZERO stars I would. This formula is truly awful and I feel I could probably buy spray at a Dollar Tree or Dollar General store and get a better spray. If the formula is not changed back I am sure there will be many customers looking for better options. So sad to see a company change a product that worked so well to one that is as awful as this one is now to (I'm sure) to plump up the company's bottom line.

I have purchased this hairspray faithfully for years because it didn't instantly weigh my hair down. This new formula flattens my hair, and the result looks awful. I blow dry to fluff up my baby-fine hair, and then this flattens it.

I took one bottle back because I thought something was wrong with the nozzle and just purchased another one only to have the same thing. I spray a little bit on my hair and it feels like the whole thing is saturated and crunchy and crusty. I have been using this hairspray for so many years. It was the very best hairspray on the market for fine hair and I would argue maybe the only hairspray on the market for fine hair. Unfortunately, the new formulation is the worst and if I could give it zero stars, I would have made that my rating. It comes out in heavy drops, no matter how far you hold the can it’s like spraying a water hose at your hair when you have your hair done. Which anyone with fine limp hair, especially in humidity would tell you this is the worst thing for our type of hair. I first thought maybe I just got a bad can so I went and bought another one only to have the same issue. I guess I’m now on a hunt for a hairspray that will actually work on my type of hair.

I thought maybe I was the only one having this issue but reading the reviews I don’t feel as unlucky as I have been! I am on can number 5 (all Still full mind you) and have now determined that it is not in fact the nozzle that has been giving me trouble. Every time I spray the bottles, my hair is loaded up with tons of wet beads of spray that leave their mark on my hair. It’s awful and makes my already fine hair looking wet and limp. I really tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and just get more and more cans but at this point, not only am I left with five unused cans that I can’t even use, but I am also out almost $50!!! Not sure what you changed, but you should really change it back. As for me, I’m going to have to change my brand.

I've purchased this product for years now after Tressemme pulled a fast one on their volume hairspray. Anyways, It went from being labeled as 'Weather' to 'Humidity'. The product works terribly now. Many customers are experiencing the same issue. It sprays more liquid than mist now. I'm not sure if this is replacing the 'weather' version but if it does, I can only imagine a shift in losing customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ae303 from The recent redesign has RUINED this product I thought I received a defective product, but other customer reviews confirm my suspicions - L'Oreal has changed not only the nozzle, but even worse, the formula of this once amazing product. The sprayer floods the hair with spray, rather than the fine, manageable, and styleable mist. It feels like spraying pure water on the hair - which spells disaster for my fine, heat straightened bangs. The end result is chunky and gluey and leaves my hair greasy, even when freshly washed. The "Humidity Control" formula redesign with water as the main ingredient is the nail in the coffin for this product. After being my one and only hairspray for at least 7 years, I will need to shift my loyalty to another brand. L'Oreal, PLEASE listen to your customers and bring back the original "Weather Control" product!

I thought it was just something wrong with the sprayer so I bought another one and same thing happened. I kept thinking I was getting a bad batch and now I have 5 cans and can’t use them its terrible and also my hair has been breaking and thinning so bad and started around same time that I started to use the new formula which I didn’t realize it was different until I read all these reviews.i think it made my hair so sticky that when I brushed it, it made my hair break. I spoke to my dr. About it and she advised to do a treatment of rosemary oil to start the growth back in my hair. I was so upset I couldn’t imagine why my hair was breaking but now I hear all these reviews I think this is the problem with breakage. I have thin hair to begin with and now with all the breakage it is so bad that it has caused me so much anxiety over it. I would appreciate it if you contact me

Then they went and changed the scent and it was horrendous. After a while they fixed that problem, but now it doesn’t have a fine mist. When sprayed, it weighs the hair down so much and makes it look so wet. Would not recommend, unless they change the formula to how it was back then.

I’ve been using this hairspray for at least 7 years. I must have funded a good chunk of someone’s salary one year how many cans I go through. Please take our criticism seriously and consider going back to the original design. I’ll gladly pay a little more even, if the change is about cost cutting. I have bizarrely thin, straight, and porous hair, this is the only hairspray that’s ever worked for me, now it’s useless. Unless and until the original is brought back, I can’t be buying anymore.

The spray is splotchy and leaves bubbles on my hair. The can also bubbles. Please fix the delivery mechanism in this product. I threw it away and bought another. After the same result and my hair looking like CRAP for three weeks I researched and the formula has changed. I threw that can away. It's horrible. I and many others implore you to change it back. I cannot use this product with the new formula. The name has changed to humidity control. It looks like my hair on the worst humid day in August.
