Bad product
I have thin fine hair and have been using the weather control formula for years because it was the only product that worked on my hair. I absolutely loved it. The new humidity control formula is awful. It is wet and leaves my hair flat and wet looking. PLEASE PLEASE bring back the original formula. I will have to start over looking for a different product until that happens.

Formula change has ruined this great hairspray!
I have used this Lock It Weather Control hairspray for years and it was my favorite. I even stayed loyal when the price almost doubled. The new formula now has water as the first ingredient and it is awful. Unless they go back to using alcohol as the main ingredient, I will no longer use this terrible hairspray.

The formula has changed and it is literally spraying water straight on your hair. I had to re-blow dry my hair after spraying a tiny bit. Yuk. I used this for years and will no longer be using with the formula change. It would have made more sense to increase the price instead of changing the formula if it was too expensive for the company to produce at the current market. Will no longer be using this product again,

I am so upset! I have very fine hair and for years searched for a hairspray that worked on my type of hair. I finally found it with Lock It WEATHER Control hairspray, which I have been using over ten years. I bought my last can at Walmart and immediately thought something was wrong because it was wet, sticky and made my hair stick together while also getting all over my shower glass and counter top. I took it back without even looking at the can, but realized when I went to get a new can, that they now say Lock It HUMIDITY Control. This product is awful and I implore Loreal to ditch this mess and reinstate the Weather Control formula. If not, sadly I will have to search for a new product moving forward.

New formula is terrible! I’ve used this hairspray for as long as I can remember and never stray from it. I never even bother trying anything else, until now. The new can I just purchased comes out in clumps almost like a mix of spray and foam. It makes my hair too wet and then it dries weird.

Used to love it now I hate it
I have been using this hairspray for years. Recently the formula changed, and let ne tell you it absolutely sucks now! The spray comes out heavy and very wet. It leaves my skin and hair wet. I have to use my blow dryer to re-dry my hair, and there is no hold at all. It's like spraying water, except it somehow is sticky on my floor. Anyway, what a disappointment.

I have been using this hairspray for years and loved it.The formula change you did recently is terrible. It’s like nothing but water comes out. My hair is soaked and it doesn’t hold at all. Changed Formula! Too we now!!! Buy something else!
I'm so upset! I have used this hairspray, LOCKIT, For a long, long time! Years and years! The formula has changed and now it goes on wet, and I have to use my hairdryer to dry it! It doesn't hold as well either. I'm switching to something else! Why change something that works so well?! Because it's cheaper to make it? I'm done. That's no way to take care of your customers.

Sticky, stinky, and wet!
I used to love this product. It had a nice smell, a dry spray, and great hold. In the past year or so, something has changed. I thought it was just the sprayers themselves, but now seeing the reviews, it is the product. It is way too wet. I Iiterally feel the spray landing on my arms and shoulders and my floor.It is such a shame that the cost of the product has gone up, but the quality has gone down. I have returned/swapped so many cans recently, but it looks like I am just going to have to find a new product.

Not good for curly hair anymore
I’ve used this hairspray for years and it was the ONLY hairspray that made my curls perfect. They changed the formula without any warning. I have 5 cans of this new formula because I had it on auto-ship. Now it just seems like water. It makes my curls wet, frizzy, and flat- and it looks horrible. I’ve canceled my subscription and will never use this product again. Now I’m stuck trying to find a different product for my curls. I’m so sad and also upset you changed the formula and didn’t say a word.

Would give zero stars if I could. I have been buying this hairspray for 10 years, and will never buy it again. The new formula is horrible!!!! It’s full of water and leaves your hair soaking wet, and when it eventually dry there’s absolutely no hold whatsoever!!! I can’t even call it hairspray…I have no idea what it is?! Product change…HORRIBLE!!!!
I have used this product for YEARS and it has been amazing until it was changed. Now all the sudden it’s not weather control is now labeled as humidity control. I assumed it was just a name changed but the whole product has changed to the worst hair product ever created! I mean it’s absolutely awful! It is like spraying sticky water on your hair. And within 2 minutes the fly aways are right back. Plus your hair is weighted down and feels worse than ever from this junk. Unless this changes back to the original formula, you’ve lost a loyal customer.

I have used this hairspray for at least ten years. The new formula is awful and immediately ruined my freshly washed hair. It was virtually water free before and now the main ingredient is water !! I’m so disappointed. Definitely won’t be buying it again.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent change in formula to your weathe control hairspray. I have been a loyal customer for many years and have consistently been willing to pay the higher price because of the quality, performance, and finished look it provided.
Unfortunately, the new formula leaves my hair with an undesirable wet appearance, even when applied from 10–12 inches away. In addition, it does not hold as effectively as the previous version. The result is a look that appears cheap and inconsistent with the standards your brand has represented for years.
Because of this change, I can no longer justify paying a premium price for a product that no longer delivers the quality I expect. Regrettably, I will be seeking an alternative brand after many years of loyalty.

Saddened by formula change
The original formula of this hairspray has been my absolute favorite for years, but the new formula is much too wet and does not come out of the nozzle correctly. Super sad because this is the only hairspray that has been good for curly hair. I am now going to have to explore other brands unless they decide to revert back to the original formula.

AWFUL- GOES ON WET, NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU HOLD IT
I bought this spray faithfully - both my husband and I loved its hold and weather control. Now it ha been changed to "humidity control," the formula is AWFUL. Even though I hold it 12" from my hair, my hair becomes WET and takes a few minutes to dry. This is NOT good on curly hair!! Also, I LIKE to hold the spray close to get a spot (such as bangs, or roots) specifically, which was great with the old formula but now IMPOSSIBLE with the new. I have to find a new hairspray.

So incredibly disappointed! This is the only hairspray I have used for years, but the new formula is HORRIBLE. No longer a fine mist, it comes out in globs as if I’m spraying water on my hair. I couldn’t believe what was happening, it was so bad. The price has increased 3x just in about the past 5 years, and now this. Sure wish I hadn’t purchased 4 cans to have on hand. Decade of loyal use down the drain
Quite literally the ONLY hairspray I’ve used for the last decade, the recent formula change has made it completely unusable. The new spray cap also is unusable. Large, very sticky droplets compared to the original very fine mist that dries quickly. Not to mention, the price has increased almost 3x since I started using this product. Disappointed is an understatement, this is a product I’ve literally repurchased a 100 times.

Not happy with product change
This has been my favorite hairspray and a must have in my hair care for at least 7 or 8 years now. However, the last 3 cans i have bought have been a huge disappointment to me. I was hoping it was just a bad can the first time, but the next 2 cans were also bad. The formula has changed and its like I'm spraying water on my hair and its not holding my hair at all. It comes out as white foamy like splotches onto my hair and seems to have a hard time making it through the nozzle. Highly disappointed, as im afraid Im going to have to find a different hairspray now and thats not easy to do. I hope whatever the change was doesnt last and Loreal can go back to how it was.

What changed?
I found this hairspray after several failed attempts due to the fact that my "go to" hairspray changed formulas. I loved the " lock it" spray. However, I just bought 2 cans and they are different. The spray is way more intense. It does not dry quickly like before.
Why do these companies change formulas. I guess I'll have to start looking again for something that actually works. Very disappointed...especially when I was buying 3 to 4 cans a week.

Started using this hairspray probably close to 7 years ago. It used to be $3.99. Then covid happened and it went up $2, now it is almost 3 times the price. I used about a can a week for 7 years now. Just ordered a can and the nozzle felt different, the spray of it was super intense and felt like too much was coming out. Yet my hair looks horrible and feels like no hairspray is on it. Looked it up and they changed the formula. Please bring back the old formula, it was my tried and true!

Why? Why did this product change? Not Good!

Disappointed in formula change, water
Extremely disappointed and saddened that the formula was changed without any indication. I have been using this hairspray for about 10 years and it was perfect but now that the first ingredient is water the product has been ruined and now unusable. The spray comes out so heavy and separated as if the “sticky” component of the hairspray just falls in blobs and leaves clumps in my hair. I have used the Weather control hairspray for years, loved it. I ordered a can off of Amazon, went to use it and it came out so fast and was watery, left blobs on my hair and weighed it down. The formula was changed and now this is useless. First ingredient is "water", and there is no aerosol function. No fine mist anymore. It's like water droplets and it leaves hair wet. This had been my wife's and my choice for hair spray for years (we both have long hair), it used to be great. But we can't use it anymore. If you want volume for fine hair or are into big hairstyles, avoid this. We are switching to another brand. You ruined a good thing.

HORRIBLE NEW FORMULA WITH NO NOTICE OF CHANGE
The product description January 2026 for Lock It hairspray on L’Oreal’s site states the product is WATER FREE and lists the ingredients of the last formula. The NEW formula lists the FIRST ingredient as WATER on the can. It lands on your hair like water leaving it wet and ruining the style. It’s horrible. There was no indication on the can that the formula was new or changed. I have previous 2 cans clearly listing different ingredients. DO NOT BUY!

Great hair spray but the nozzle is different now
I used to love this hairspray wasn’t sticky but the most recent cans I bought the sprayer is more like a hose and now I have wet drips on my hair and it’s super stiff. I thought maybe it was just the one can I bought but it’s the last 3 cans. I even tried to use the old nozzle on the new bottle but it doesn’t work

A Go To Hair Product
This has been my favorite hair spray for several years starting before it was marked for humidity control. I have wavy fine hair and this holds like no other spray. You don't need to spray much. I have medium short hair and when I get up from bed in the morning I don't have to do a thing with my hair. The one complaint I have has made this lose a 5th star. It develops an odd bad smell within a day, and I'm not sure if others can smell it. Something must have changed in the formula about a year or 2 ago.

Best Hairspray For Curly Girl Routine
I do not understand people that are giving this a low rating.. I have very curly hair. I am obsessed with makeup skin care and hair care. I tend to go high-end most of the time. But I do like some drugstore. I have tried every single hairspray out there. This is the only one that works and does not flake. It's perfect for the curly girl routine which I swear I invented in 1996. I don't know if it was a thing before then or not. I have been doing it since then. People thought I was crazy with helmet head because I used so much hairspray. However, I would do it at nighttime after my shower and I would wake up and my hair would be perfect. This is the best hairspray out there. The only thing that I don't like is. This was under $4 at Walmart nd it has literally doubled in price that is ridiculous.

Like another reviewer stated, they have changed its formula, it's smells bad now and doesn't hold as well, the old formula had a gold ring around the nozzle, the new has a silver ring. I'm using up my 3 can stock and never buying it again. Bad move loreal! I have used this for years, but no more!

Formula has changed
I use to love this hairspray. The formula has changed recently. It smells awful now and doesn't hold well anymore. The spray nozzles fall off often too. In stores it is not selling as well as it used to because I guess other people have noticed the change. The old formula has a gold ring around the sprayer and it's great and smells nice but the new formula with a silver ring is just awful.

I go through a can of hairspray a week. The nozzle is defective on every other can I buy. It always falls off and rolls somewhere in my bathroom as I try to get ready. It's ridiculous! I check the cans before I buy them, but seems to still happen. I will stop buying this product if it is not fixed.
