When it comes to fashion week season, the Paris shows are some of most highly anticipated. Not only do the designers bring a touch of couture with the fashion, but the beauty is just as enchanting and dramatic at the clothes sent down the runway. And for L'Oréal Paris, a beauty brand whose Parisian heritage is at the forefront of everything that it does, it’s the perfect rendez-vous to show the world why it’s so special. This Paris Fashion Week, legendary makeup artist Val Garland created three inspirational beauty looks for L'Oréal Paris, showing off not only her treasured hands, but also the magic that you can make with makeup when you have the right products in your arsenal

“I think you draw heavily from your surroundings; what’s written in the news, societal, cultural issues and emerging consumer trends,” says Garland. “For this season I was particularly inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic and sustainability issues. One of the first looks I envisioned was the Color Pop, which is inspired by our current climate. As more people need some pops of color in their lives, by incorporating it into makeup looks, it helps them to express their creativity and boost their mood.”

Get The Look: For each look Garland started by prepping the skin with L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Micellar Cleansing Water Complete Cleanser - All Skin Types to cleanse it, then layered on L'Oréal Paris Collagen Moisture Filler Day/Night Cream to hydrate and plump the skin.

Start by using the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear in a powder, matte finish foundation to create a velvety matte complexion. Then, using the Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in grey, create a rounded shape liner that brings softness to the eyes. Add some drama with the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara and a bold color from the L'Oréal Paris Les Nus by Color Riche Intense Nude Lipstick collection. We love Nu Artistique or Nu Insouciant for high color impact.

“The second look called Haute Nude pays homage to the tonal beauty look,” Garland continues. “It’s about maximizing the eyes with luxurious lash and mascara. This look is lashes, liner, lippie and brows reacting in harmony together.”

Get The Look: Start again with the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear in a powder, matte finish to create a smooth base for your look and add the L'Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Bronze It bronzer to enhance and highlight the cheeks. For eyes, brush on a matte taupe shadow and then for a modern take on mascara use the L'Oréal Paris Le Liner Signature Easy-Glide Mechanical Eyeliner Pencil in Brown Denim on the waterline, and then tightline the lashes (Garland says really push the liner between the lashes for a full lash root to tip effect). Add L'Oréal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara to the top and bottom lashes—remember to wiggle the wand to fully coat each lash until they look luxe. Complete the look with one of the 18 nude options from the L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Satin Lipstick line.

“The last look, Hi Brow, is inspired by the brow trends today where there is a brow for everyone. It’s about bringing brows back into focus by intensifying individual hairs and keeping the rest of the makeup in soft focus,” says Garland.

Get The Look: For this look you want to focus your L'Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear in a powder foundation on areas that need coverage only—it’s all about skinimalism so less is more here. After your foundation, tightline the eyes using the Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in black on the lower lash line, then create soft and defined lashes with the L'Oréal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara.

Then on to the eyebrows. Begin to lightly fill in the brows by adding individual hairlike strokes using the L'Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil and draw on strokes of “hair” in a vertical direction. Since this look is all about the brows, keep drawing until you get a high brow look. Using the spoolie provided, comb in a small amount of L'Oréal Paris Unbelievabrow Longwear Waterproof Brow Gel to keep your brows in place. Then add a swipe of L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Matte Lipstick in Doesn’t Matte-r to complete the look.
