The Screen Actor Guild Awards® are right around the corner, which means red carpet-worthy makeup looks and hairstyles are about to be all over our social media feeds. And while award season tends to provide unique, out-of-the-box beauty look inspiration, there are certain looks you can bank on seeing, either due to being completely classic, or because they’re trending at the moment. Below, we’re placing our bets on seven beauty looks we expect to see on the red carpet during award season, as well as how to recreate them for yourself!
What’s a red carpet without starlets rocking bold, red lips? This classic beauty look will surely be making its mark on the red carpet once more this award season. Think this red carpet staple is suited to your real life? Take your pick from the L’Oréal Paris Rouge Signature, Lasting Matte Liquid Lipstick in I Achieve, I Am Worth It, and I Don’t. The formula of this liquid lipstick is long-lasting, highly pigmented, weightless, and has a matte finish. Bingo!
Editor’s tip: Don’t know which shade to pick? Find the best red hue for you in our article, Our Best Red Lipstick for Every Skin Tone.
Another timeless beauty classic, voluminous curls will surely be bouncing their way down the red carpet.

Here’s How to Create Voluminous Curls on Any Hair Type.
Red lips not your thing? Focus on creating a timeless eye makeup look instead! We’re certainly expecting black smoky eyes to bring the sultry vibes this award season.
Flat eye shadow brush
L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Quads in Cookies & Cream
L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Liquid Eyeliner in Black
L’Oréal Paris Unlimited Lash Lifting and Lengthening Washable Mascara
Ready to create a black smoky eye? Let’s get to it!
Before applying any eye shadow, make sure you prime your eyes to ensure your eye makeup lasts all night long!
Now that your eyes are prepped and ready for eye shadow, take a light gray shade and pack it onto your lid using a flat eye shadow brush. Then, apply a dark gray shade into your crease. Deepen your crease and amp up the drama by popping a black shade onto the outer “V” of your crease. Make sure to blend these colors well using a fluffy eye shadow brush. Complete your eye shadow by applying a white shade to your inner corner to brighten your eyes.
You can’t have a black smoky eye without winged eyeliner to match! Use your liquid eyeliner to line your upper lid and create your sharpest wing.
Complete your smoky eye makeup look by adding volume and length to your lashes with a few coats of mascara.
Updos are another hairstyle we can predict will be on the red carpet—getting specific, slicked-back buns are a style you can guarantee will make an appearance. This ‘do allows your makeup to be the center of your beauty look.
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Clean Style Gel
Get the look:
Follow the steps below to create a slicked-back bun of your own!
Start by applying hair gel to your roots and slicking your hair towards the back of your head. Make sure to keep things bump-free.
Once you’ve slicked your hair back, tie it into a low bun using a hair elastic. You can use bobby pins to secure any stray strands, but the bun can be as perfect or as messy as you want!
And that’s it!
Another popular hairstyle we’re betting money on is side-swept waves. This tried and true hairstyle is super easy to recreate, all the while giving you a classy, elegant beauty look.
Wide tooth comb
L’Oréal Paris Elnett Precious Oil Satin Hairspray
Grab your curling iron and get ready to give yourself award show-worthy side-swept waves!
Before we get to curling, make sure to spray your mane with a heat protectant to prevent heat damage.
Use a wide barrel curling to create large waves throughout your hair. Then, lightly comb through your curls with a wide tooth comb to loosen them up.
Bring your hair to one side. On the side opposite all of your hair, bobby pin the hair flat against your head. This will keep your mane in a side-swept position.
Finish your hairstyle by spritzing with hairspray to keep your strands in place throughout the night!
No makeup, makeup is another look that can’t seem to be kept off the red carpet—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. This subtle beauty look makes a statement of its own with its simplicity. Learn how to get the look in our article, How To Rock The No Makeup, Makeup Look: The Complete Tutorial.
Award season is the perfect opportunity for celebrities to try out wild, eye-catching hair colors—temporarily, of course. We’ve already seen this trend gracing a red carpet or two this season, and we’re predicting more fun hair colors to come! Get the look by using a wash out hair color, like the L’Oréal Paris Colorista 1-Day Spray or the L’Oréal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup 1-Day Color. With an array of beautiful shades, you can be a hair color trendsetter for the night.
