New formula is horrible
a year ago
This new change to 11x is horrible I’ve been wearing the original for 25 years. The new one (not waterproof) will not come off. my eyelashes are coming off from trying to get it off. My lashes are not as thick as they were with the old formula. For this reason will be switching to another mascara line. Big mistake for tacking a good product and changing it. You are going to loose more customers with this new formula. So good bye after 25 years pass this along from the people who decided to botch the new mascara

Horrible new formula; they changed more than the o

I’ve used the curved brush voluminous for over 20 years; I could fall asleep with my makeup on and apply a new layer the next day; no longer can do that as it sticks my lashes together in a very ugly way; also, I’ve always been able to use my Cerave bar soap to wash my face and it would wash the mascara off wonderfully; now I wash my face three times a day still being able to feel the hard clumps of mascara sticking to my lashes; got out of the shower and had mascara clumps under my eyes; and lashes falling out. This new formula is HORRIBLE.

Why, oh why do you ruin the ABSOLUTE BEST product?

I have used this particular mascara for decades. I’ve tried every mascara on the market, no exaggeration, because I know/knew eventually you would try to “improve” it or discontinue it. But I always come back to this one. I buy 10 tubes at a time so I don’t run out. Voluminous black curved brush. Excellent wear, tons of compliments. Something has changed. For goodness sake, GO BACK to what I and others have worn every single day for decades. If I wanted something different, I’d buy something different.

The brush gets too full when pulled out of tube

Did the packaging change? The brush comes out over loaded with mascara now. Wiping off the tip isn't enough, it's goopy all over the brush. I checked inside to see if the inner ring that makes sure the brush isn't over full was missing but it's there.

BIG Mistake

This is NOW horrible mascara. The original was the best. I can’t understand why the change? Also, I posted a review several months ago, and it is no where to be found. In addition, reviews I read previously aren’t there anymore? There are MANY more negative reviews. Instead of editing/deleting reviews, how about go find/produce the original formula and then you won’t have to worry about deleting negative reviews.

Not worth buying

New formula says it lasts for 24 hours. I find it is difficult to remove with soap and water and with makeup remover. It also clumps and smears terribly. I have used the previous version for years, loved it, but am now looking at other brands. If you can tell me which of your mascaras are like the older version, I would eagerly try that.

Allergy reaction for a new formula

I was using this mascara for several years. Last week I bought a new tube and it gave me a horrible allergy reaction. Can't use it and have to look for other options. Please, bring the old formula back.

Absolutely TERRIBLE

The new formula is TERRIBLE! I have been using this product for over 20 years! It has always been my favorite mascara! At first I thought it was a mistake and I got waterproof on accident, but it’s not! The washable mascara does not wash off! It makes your eyelashes break within just a couple days of use! I am so upset!!!!

This recently changed to a new formula and it’s awful, no more long thick lash, you can’t get it off even with baby oil. You took an amazing mascara and made it horrible. My lashes were long and thick, new formula short lashes and all clumped together. I’m so disappointed, please bring back the old formula.

This mascara stinks. That’s a pleasant word for not good. I thought I had picked up waterproof and maybe I did it clumped on and it wouldn’t come off at the end of the day even with mascara remover. I don’t know if they had a bad batch or what but it was, bad on my eyelashes, thin them out badly

This has been my favorite for YEARS. Yesterday I tried the newer formula & it seems to be waterproof! I can't get it off without ripping out my lashes....it does not say waterproof so I don't get it. Very sad, now I have to change my mascara.

New formula misses the mark

This used to be my favorite mascara. Black with curbed brush. I’ve used it for 20 years and always got compliments and people thought they were fake they looked so good. There was no flaking or clumping and it removed easily. The new formula is terrible. It clumps my lashes and will not come off even with makeup remover. If there is not a way to get the old formula back, I will have to switch. Please let me know how to get the old formula without the gold band on the packaging.

Great for 25 years, now POOR!

This formula seems to have changed, but not for the better. Where can I get the original formula that I’ve used since 1996?? Clumps, not washable, eyelashes rip out when washing etc. I can tell the tube design has slightly changed but none of this is indicated on the package! What has gone wrong here?

Miss the Old Formula

I echo people's recent concerns about the formula of this product. I have been using this mascara for 10+ years and have loved it. Please go back to the previous formula; it was soft to the touch and a better look for volume. The current formula is too wet and doesn't even stick to the brush well, let alone my eyelashes. Overall, it looks/feels more like a Lash Blast formula, not the Voluminous one. I'm currently on the hunt to replace this mascara, which was my favorite for so many years.

Favorite Mascara and Brush!!!

I have used the Voluminous mascara with the curved brush for years. It became hard to find near me for a while and and so I tried other brands ands brushes for awhile. Strongly disliking every other mascara I tried. Finally I found it again and I am super happy! My lashes are so full and thick and there is no clumping. I LLOVE LOVE LOVE this mascara!!!!

What happened to this mascara????

I've been using this mascara (not the waterproof) for many years. Last few tubes I have noticed how difficult it is to take all of it off. I also have been finding clumps in the tube after the 2nd or 3rd use. I use a good mascara remover and still after I think I have gotten all of it off, I find some under my lower lashes. I don't put mascara on my lower lashes to begin with!!! HELP!!!

Love this mascara!

I first used this mascara a couple of years ago and have been using it since, it gives your lashes a push and fans them out making them look full and lush, almost giving a false lash look. Although when you first buy it the formula may be a bit runny, after a few uses it gets a great consistency.

I've been using this for several years after my favorite Max Factor mascara was no longer available. This is a great drugstore mascara. It does what it says, makes lashes thicker in a single application of product. I always sweep a dry lash brush over my lashes after application to separate lashes. After it dries, I apply Voluminous Waterproof mascara to seal it. (My eyes will only tolerate waterproof mascara as a top coat, NOT directly on my lashes.) I remove with Clean Artiste.

Really intense and dramatic mascara, however, it is a bit clumpy. But besides that, I love this product! Probably one of my favorite mascaras.

It never clumps and makes lashes look longer and thicker. The only drawback is that after it has been used a little, I have to blot extra mascara off the end of the wand or it will clump the lashes

I've been using this for years, but switched to Big Lash because I got a free deal. Not worth it. It ran too easily and didn't give me the volume of Voluminous. If you don't think this is the best, than you haven't tried any other.

blackest black for curved brush?

I love this mascara been using it for 15 years just wish it came in blackest black on the curved brush is this possible?

wet and sticky

I love a curved brush for my mascara so I thought I would give this one a try. I am not impressed. The mascara is very wet and sticky so it clumps to the brush. I does not go on smooth at all. The price is on outrageous, but the were a quite a few curved brush mascaras at the drugstore that are less expensive and work a lot better.

Old Favorite now flaking :(

I have worn this exact mascara for the last twenty years and it has always been my favorite. There is no doubt that when first applied, nothing makes my lashes look longer, thicker or better, but throughout the day I have to keep cleaning the black smudges off from under my eyes! It didn't used to be like that! Did they change the formula or something?
