I bought this product for my hair since i recently dyed it back to brown, however i did not notice that the second ingredient is SULFATE which strips hair color. Im confused as to why you would market a product for color treated hair when it has a hair color stripping product as its ingredient. I am very disappointed the only reason i did not give this a 1 star review is because i did not try it and am too afraid to ever try it.

I have used this product for my color treated hair for years but something has changed. After washing my hair is very tangled and waxy my scalp also burned. I stopped using it then used it again a few weeks later and the same thing happened. Go back to the original formula it was better.

DO NOT buy this if you have vivid colored hair- I splurged, and had my hair professionally dyed blue. As a single parent with three kids, having my hair professionally dyed was a significant investment and I want to protect it. I Purchased this product along with the conditioner because it is called “color vibrancy” and says it formulated for color treated hair – but the shampoo dried my hair out horribly and it looks like it washed half my beautiful color out in the first use.
There is no contact information for quality assurance on the bottle, Unless you have questions. But I don’t have questions – I’m frustrated that a huge chunk of my investment has literally gone down the drain.

This product has done nothing for my hair. I wanted to try a new shampoo. I color my hair and have had good results with Herbal Essence products but I tried ElvivColor Vibrancy Protecting Shampoo and after washing it you cannot get a comb through it and I have short hair. It makes it coarse and unmanageble

When I get my hair colored, this is my go to shampoo. I've tried high end and they don't deliver the same healthy shine as Elvive does. My daughter, who has long, thick, soft hair and has never colored it, tried it and said her hair looked shiny and beautiful. She now uses it on a regular basis. Thanks for a great product.

Stripped all the color from my hair!

At first, I loved the scent of this shampoo and was excited as for it was rated really good. However, after 1 wash from getting my hair colored, I noticed that my hair looked slightly lighter. But I was like, no, there's no way. I just washed it for the second time, and my hair is back to blonde! I went DARK BROWN when I got it dyed and my hair is now back to a dirty blonde. I am beyond furious. This shampoo is HORRIBLE. Don't get it! It's not for "color vibrancy," it's for color STRIPPING.

Took out my hair color/dye in ONE wash.

I was excited to use this as after my first time bleaching and dyeing my hair was just done. I used it like a normal shampoo & conditioner and even showered with cold water just in case, and yet these products stripped the majority of my hair dye out of my hair, I went from a metallic blue color to barely blue tinted blonde hair. Definitely not giving your company my money again.

Stripped the color from my hair

I bought this about a week ago after recently dying my hair, I wanted a shampoo and conditioner that would help keep the color from fading. However after using it only 4-5x it has stripped all the color from my roots (about 2 inches) I won't be using either product again and am very disappointed. Hey Gloria, Sulfates in shampoos are surfactants which function as foaming agents and emulsifiers. The term "sulfate" refers to the sulfate portion of the molecule. This portion of the molecule is associated with greater cleaning and foaming effects. Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate and disodium laureth sulfosuccinate are also foaming agents and emulsifiers but the sulfate portion of the molecule has been replaced. These ingredients are not chemically classified as "sulfates" and are generally perceived as milder surfactants.
Chemically, surfactants clean by binding dirt and grease while remaining dissolved in water. The salt portion of the molecule, of which sodium is a part, allows it to remain dissolved.
