HOW TO USE

For all over coverage, use a fluffy stippling brush or a makeup sponge to gently blend the powder into the skin, like you would with a liquid foundation. Apply a light layer all over the skin, and build up coverage in the areas where you need it.

For a touch up, use a sponge to gently blot True Match Powder on the T-zone to add more coverage and absorb excess oils.

Compact design

I used to use Merle Norman, but it is so expensive. I tried the Loreal True Match foundation and the power compact. I love them both, but I am not happy with the compact design. Is is not user friendly. It seems awkward to use. The mirror is in a different spot than the makeup part. You have to close the make up to look in the mirror and you need more powder, you have to close the mirror to get to the powder. Pleases re-design the compact so that it is more user friendly. Thanks for great products though. I am also using the Loreal hair color....Love it.

New packaging and puff pad are terrible!

I have been a very loyal purchaser of the super blendable powder for years... recently the compact and applicator sponge changed. The new compact is very hard to use and the mirror/powder sections flips around. The powder applicator is now a very old school puff pad and is terrible if you have wrinkles. Please bring back the original packaging and applicator!

LOVE This Powder!!!

I have very dry skin that often feels tight and this is the only powder I use on my face. It gets rid of the shine without drying or tightening my skin. It also looks really pretty when I put it on and goes on really smooth. It comes in a wide variety of colors. I’m pretty fair and often can’t find a match for my skin tone. I’m able to get an exact match and another one that is a close 2nd. LOVE IT!

Don't bother! Useless!

This new powder product is very disappointing! To call it a foundation is laughable. It doesn't cover any blemishes or uneven skin tone. If this is their replacement for their TruMatch Mineral powder then they have made a very bad choice. The TruMatch Mineral powder was their best matte product ever used by many, including myself, for over 20 years.

Horrible in comparison to True Match Mineral

I used to use True Match Mineral loose powder. It was perfect. This does not give the same coverage and for my skin it's oily. Please reconsider the discontinuation of the old product. I've been getting by, finding the loose powder online but that won't work forever. I'm now moving on to other brands because the powder compacts like this and liquid foundations are horrible for my skin. I need a loose powder with good coverage. You had the perfect product and got rid of it.

Miss the old formula

I would like to join the chorus asking for the old formula. This was the perfect powder that did not irritate my skin and also matched my skin tone. Since coconut oil has been added to the formula, I break out in acne every time I wear it. I am begging for a formulation with a non comodogenic oil!

New powder shades do not match

I used L'Oreal true match gentle mineral makeup, loose powder in shade W6-7 sun beige. Since L'Oreal got rid of that, I switched to the L'Oreal true match blendable powder, but none of the new powders come close to their old w6-7 sun beige color. It matched my skin perfectly and I wish they would bring back their loose powder in the original shades. I tried their new shade in W6, W7, N5, N6, and N7 none of them come close to their original W6-7 sun beige color nor do the new powders apply and cover like their loose powder.

I echo the sentiments of everyone else. The old formula/packaging was best. I've been living in denial, buying every little discontinued one I could find in my shade on ebay for 3x the price. Good Finish. Misleading Shades

I have mature skin and avoid powder, but i decided to try this as a foundation instead of a setting powder. The finish is shockingly amazing. It doesnt settle into my lines at all. So why only 3 stars? Their shades are wacked. What I need is an N2.5 which doesnt exist. Both C and W have in-between shades, but not the N. N2 is far too pale meant for ultra fair skin while N3 leans golden warm. There is no light skin true neutral option in N. It also loses another star for not being inclusive since they do not use any naturally blonde models and almost no light medium olive models. Every shade should be displayed by a real model wearing the actual shade they are supposed to be modeling. Having a different model that doesnt wear that actual shade is misleading and causes confusion, making it difficult for everyone to find their correct shade.

Use to be the best one the market...

I have used this powder for over 10 years. It use to be amazing. The new square design is terrible. Please go back to the circle compact design because it worked so much better. As for the new puffy applicator....PLEASE, PLEASE give us back the sponge applicator. No other powder works like this one but with the changes I can no longer buy this and have to replace it with a different brand which is super unfortunate with how well it does cover with the old sponge applicator.

Horrible, scant, uneven coverage

Had successfully used the previous loose powder version for years. Since that seems to be discontinued, I’ve tried this version. The powder is hard and doesn’t provide good, even coverage. I have used this product for many years. I used to use the cappuccino true match powder foundation. They do not make that anymore. In all the substitutes are horrible. The powder goes on and then turns hard. The colors are not the same. I hate that they made changes. This is definitely a epic fail for this line

BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA PLEASE!!!

the old true match powder in the round compact was so good. it was my go-to foundation for YEARS. then y’all changed the packaging and apparently the formula. instead of a sponge there’s a useless little puff that goes immediately in the trash. meaning i need to spend more money to get sponges. and this new formula doesn’t look as good on the skin and hard-pans, virtually right away. the only way i can use it is by shattering it into a loose powder that i put in another container. it’s unreasonable and impractical. the literal only reason i’m still using it is because i have yet to find something i really like, the way i did the old formula. i know i’m not the only one who feels this way. i see the reviews. i don’t know why y’all don’t care about customer feedback but it’s a massive slap in the face to those of us who have been loyal for years. do better, l’oréal.

This is no good but only kind of makeup I can use.

I do not like how it goes on and it gets hard so you cant even use the pad that comes with it. The pad is no good it gets where it doesn't work with the powder. I wish the Mineral powder would have never been discontinued it was the best. I wish you would bring that back. Why change what was working for everyone.

Worst powder ever

I was obsessed with this powder and now it is the WORST powder out there. It reminds me of the pretend makeup for little girls. A joke of a powder. It has 0 coverage, it is super chalky and powdery. I wouldn't even take it if it was free. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible

Just Why???? Please Bring Back the Original

Like many others have stated, I bought this product thinking it was the same as the actual blendable powder (W4) that I have used exclusively for many years (and loved). This new powder is just awful. The applicator pad is a joke, and sadly the powder itself is worse than what my grandmother used in the 80s. I'm so, so, so sad that you discontinued a staple in my daily make-up routine. And I'm even sadder that you tricked me into buying this completely horrible, non-comparable product. Please, please, please bring can the original powder and color (side note: W4.5 is spray tan brown, unfortunately - and doesn't really match anyone's natural skin tone).

Powder texture is changing to hard after few days

I have been using L’Oréal True Match Super-Blendable Powder (N5) for years. Since last year, I’ve noticed that after using it for a couple of weeks, part of the powder becomes hard in texture. This issue has occurred with my last four packs. Once the powder hardens, I’m unable to use that portion because no powder comes off. I’ve attached pictures for reference.

Bad changes have been made to this product.

I've been using this powder for over 10 yrs and I love the powder. In the last couple years the circle compact turned into a square and is now so difficult to use. Also the sponge (it was the ultimate sponge applicator) is now a 1980s type puff that is small, rough and super thin. I've had to switch brands because of these changes and I'm hoping they will go back to how it use to be packaged and the old sponge applicator.

NOT "blendable"

I use True Match Powder since many many years N4- and loved it. The last 2 I ordered are horrible, they do not blend at all....very hard and NOT "blendable" at all. Why did you change...just wondering. Why change a good thing? I never will understand.

Same name, different formula, different product

This product is sold under the same name, but it is not the same product. The product in the square compacts with the puff applicator is a different formula than the product in the round compact with the sponge applicator. The old formula was a powder foundation that had good coverage. The new formula is an entirely different product, not a foundation, but a pressed powder. It has almost no coverage. I wasted money buying a few of the new compacts hoping I just got a bad compact, but it’s all the same bad product now. I’m very pale and this was the o lt powder foundation that worked for me at a price point I could afford. I’m really disappointed.

A joke product produced by an uncaring company

Like others, I tried this after they discontinued the mineral foundation I had used for around 15 years. This product is a joke, zero coverage AND skin-clogging coconut oil? L’Oréal doesn’t care about the quality of their products. They don’t care about their customers, as shown by their lack of transparency, slowly and quietly removing a favorite product from shelves, all without being honest when customers inquired about it. This means they knew, and either directed their employees to give vague answers, or weren’t even honest with their own employees. Because of this, I no longer trust the brand. I’m not going to remain loyal to a company like this, so I now avoid all L’Oréal products.

Bring Back True Match Mineral!

This isn’t AT ALL comparable to the True Match Mineral It’s a cakey powder. Ugh. Bring back the True Match Mineral. It’s literally the only thing I’ve found that works on my extremely oily skin. You have tons of reviews asking you to bring it back. It’s wildly popular. Discontinuing it is a truly epic mistake.

I have been using the old school LOREAL TRUE MATCH MINERAL POWDER that comes in a loose powder form with a kabuki style brush. It was the only make up I could honestly say I would wear forever if I could. Shame on Loreal for discontinuing it and attempting to use this as a comparable item. The previous version looked dewey and kept me looking fresh, this new formula is awful and I hate it. I am on the hunt for another manufacturer that comes close to the old school formula .

Not an alternative for bare naturale.

This is recommended as an alternative to Bare Naturale and it absolutely does not compare. I’ve been using that makeup line for years because it matched perfectly and was fabulous for my skin. Comedogenic!!!! Horrible Change!

Comedogenic!!!! Coconut Oi!?! Coco Butter?! and Mango Seed Butter?! No wonder everyone is complaining about the product change, Loreal really messed up here! Used this product for I don't even know how long until they changed the ingredients made me break out like crazy and caused a severe allergic reaction. Also, they are lying about it being fragrance free, you can smell the fragrance. At this point they either need to change the product or pull it from the shelves. I am leaving this on every site I possibly can. A company shouldn't be able to do this to people, like why have THREE incredibly comedogenic ingredients in a product. Also, I am a trained esthetician, so I do know what I am talking about.

Bring back the old style and loose mineral powder

I am so disappointed in the new compact powder. I dislike the case, and despise the applicator pad it comes with. I throw it out every time and I purchase makeup sponge applicator pads from Amazon. I have used this and the actual True Match Mineral Powder for many many years (10+) I can't believe the Mineral makeup was discontinued and check often in hopes that it will return. With so many people missing this product, and based on the many poor reviews you're receiving, why hasn't it been brought back yet? I have yet to find anything I like as well, and it's very disappointing not to be able to purchase it anymore

I was a customer for at least 12 years. I loved the old c3 powder in the round compact. This new formula is horrible! It doesn't match like the old formula, it makes my face look dull, no coverage, and the shade is not the same with this "New" formula! The applicator is awful as well. It gets rid of the shine without drying or tightening my skin. It also looks really pretty when I put it on and goes on really smooth. It comes in a wide variety of colors. I’m pretty fair and often can’t find a match for my skin tone. I’m able to get an exact match and another one that is a close 2nd. LOVE IT!

If this is their replacement for their TruMatch Mineral powder then they have made a very bad choice. Since L'Oreal got rid of that, I switched to the L'Oreal true match blendable powder, but none of the new powders come close to their old w6-7 sun beige color. It matched my skin perfectly and I wish they would bring back their loose powder in the original shades. I tried their new shade in W6, W7, N5, N6, and N7 none of them come close to their original W6-7 sun beige color nor do the new powders apply and cover like their loose powder.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Janesays from Good Finish. Misleading Shades I have mature skin and avoid powder, but i decided to try this as a foundation instead of a setting powder. The finish is shockingly amazing. It doesnt settle into my lines at all. So why only 3 stars? Their shades are wacked. What I need is an N2.5 which doesnt exist. Both C and W have in-between shades, but not the N. N2 is far too pale meant for ultra fair skin while N3 leans golden warm. There is no light skin true neutral option in N. It also loses another star for not being inclusive since they do not use any naturally blonde models and almost no light medium olive models. Every shade should be displayed by a real model wearing the actual shade they are supposed to be modeling. Having a different model that doesnt wear that actual shade is misleading and causes confusion, making it difficult for everyone to find their correct shade.

Please go back to the circle compact design because it worked so much better. As for the new puffy applicator....PLEASE, PLEASE give us back the sponge applicator. Please Bring Back the Original Like many others have stated, I bought this product thinking it was the same as the actual blendable powder (W4) that I have used exclusively for many years (and loved). This new powder is just awful. The applicator pad is a joke, and sadly the powder itself is worse than what my grandmother used in the 80s. I'm so, so, so sad that you discontinued a staple in my daily make-up routine. And I'm even sadder that you tricked me into buying this completely horrible, non-comparable product. Please, please, please bring can the original powder and color (side note: W4.5 is spray tan brown, unfortunately - and doesn't really match anyone's natural skin tone).

Since last year, I’ve noticed that after using it for a couple of weeks, part of the powder becomes hard in texture. This issue has occurred with my last four packs. Once the powder hardens, I’m unable to use that portion because no powder comes off. I’ve attached pictures for reference.

In the last couple years the circle compact turned into a square and is now so difficult to use. Also the sponge (it was the ultimate sponge applicator) is now a 1980s type puff that is small, rough and super thin. I've had to switch brands because of these changes and I'm hoping they will go back to how it use to be packaged and the old sponge applicator.

The product in the square compacts with the puff applicator is a different formula than the product in the round compact with the sponge applicator. The old formula was a powder foundation that had good coverage. The new formula is an entirely different product, not a foundation, but a pressed powder. It has almost no coverage. I wasted money buying a few of the new compacts hoping I just got a bad compact, but it’s all the same bad product now. I’m very pale and this was the o lt powder foundation that worked for me at a price point I could afford. I’m really disappointed.

This product is a joke, zero coverage AND skin-clogging coconut oil? L’Oréal doesn’t care about the quality of their products. They don’t care about their customers, as shown by their lack of transparency, slowly and quietly removing a favorite product from shelves, all without being honest when customers inquired about it. This means they knew, and either directed their employees to give vague answers, or weren’t even honest with their own employees. Because of this, I no longer trust the brand. I’m not going to remain loyal to a company like this, so I now avoid all L’Oréal products.

It was the only make up I could honestly say I would wear forever if I could. Shame on Loreal for discontinuing it and attempting to use this as a comparable item. The previous version looked dewey and kept me looking fresh, this new formula is awful and I hate it. I am on the hunt for another manufacturer that comes close to the old school formula .

No wonder everyone is complaining about the product change, Loreal really messed up here! Used this product for I don't even know how long until they changed the ingredients made me break out like crazy and caused a severe allergic reaction. Also, they are lying about it being fragrance free, you can smell the fragrance. At this point they either need to change the product or pull it from the shelves. I am leaving this on every site I possibly can. A company shouldn't be able to do this to people, like why have THREE incredibly comedogenic ingredients in a product. Also, I am a trained esthetician, so I do know what I am talking about.

I throw it out every time and I purchase makeup sponge applicator pads from Amazon. I have used this and the actual True Match Mineral Powder for many many years (10+) I can't believe the Mineral makeup was discontinued and check often in hopes that it will return. With so many people missing this product, and based on the many poor reviews you're receiving, why hasn't it been brought back yet? It doesn't match like the old formula, it makes my face look dull, no coverage, and the shade is not the same with this "New" formula! The applicator is awful as well. I even tried buying different applicators and using those with the new product, it still is awful on my face. Please bring back the old formula!

It was the only foundation that really worked for my skin. People always complimented me with the mineral foundation. I had hoped this would be a good substitute. It's awful and a waste of money. I’m honestly one of thousands of women who are deeply appalled by you guys getting rid of the actual True Match Mineral Powder with the brush on top. Please just start manufacturing that again, this does not work the same at all and we are all having to order the retired product on eBay and stuff now. You took a makeup away from women who used it for 15-20 years and gave us nothing to actually replace it with. This stuff does not give me the same coverage at all and the shades don’t even match from the old product! It’s such a hurtful outrage. I’m not sure who is making these decisions but they are not the sharpest tool in the shed and thousands of us can agree. Look up the forums online of people discussing this matter

I wish I would have read the ingredients before purchasing. In this day and age one would think that the cosmetic companies would be a little more mindful of their ingredients. It doesn't apply/perform the same and the casing (square with cheap sponge is absolutely ridiculous)! Who made the product change decisions and why? Maybe you should have asked your customers in advance for feedback. I loved this product and bought it consistently.

I however did complain and they did send me a refund a few days ago. I did ask what i should try in place of it and got nowhere they said there was no replacement at this time. So not sure what to do i am not at all a makeup person and struggled finding the perfect one and now its gone. Also, the new applicator that is provided with the new square style is just terrible does not work at all. If anyone can help me out in finding a new shade or something comparible that would be great.

I will echo the sentiments of this "new version" from all the recent bad reviews ..... The new formula is just terrible! First of all, it doesn't blend well - is cakey on the skin. The product develops this unwanted rough surface that doesn't lift very well and I have to scrape it to get the product to apply! BEYOND DISAPPOINTED!!! Loreal, PLEASE bring back the original formulation! It WAS superior!

The new formula is awful, it's patchy, super dry (and I have oily skin), & very cheap. It feels like chalk now & also when I set my under eyes with it, my eyes start to burn & water! It also has coconut oil in it now which makes me break out like crazy. Not to also mention that they changed their applicator! Don't fix something that isn't broken. I have read nothing but bad reviews since it changed & that's because this new formula truly sucks.

The formula seems to have changed recently, it now somehow manages to provide less coverage while being more cakey on the skin and settles into even the most minor of creases. The new compact, while nice looking, is functionally awful- the powder puff is useless compared to the sponge which came with the old packaging. Also HEARTBROKEN to see that the True Match blendable concealer has been discontinued! That was a holy grail product, used for MANY MANY years - on a desperate search for a replacement. Tried the other available L’Oréal concealers, none blend well/are thick/patchy and settle in fine lines/creases

Recently tried to repurchase and it has been changed. Now the compact is square (?) but the worst thing is that I have no idea what color I am supposed to use now. The "new" N4 is much darker than the old N4. The AI on this web site can't help me. Customer service can't help me. Am I supposed to just guess and potentially waste my money with trial and error?? This is unacceptable. Please provide some kind of reference or workaround for people who like the old product. Please help your loyal customers!!! P.S. I am also worried that the formula has changed. Please let us know if that is the case too. In which case maybe we all just to move on and find something else.

I’ve been using the N4 buff beige for 20 years, now everything is different. The round compact with the sponge applicator is now a square compact with a square cotton thin applicator. I then used the new and it’s terrible, does not apply to the skin evenly. Why does it not…because the ingredients are totally different. I’m so disappointed, now on the search for something new. I wish you would bring back what actually works.

The powder formula changed, the compact changed & the applicator changed - all for the worst. The applicator does not hold any makeup or transfer it properly, the mirror is on the opposite side than it once was so it's not as easy to use & the powder's quality & coverage decreased. I wear this makeup because I am very pale & have sensitive skin & this is the only thing that matched my skin & kept my irritation down. Ever since this product changed, it basically does nothing for me. Biggest disappointment ever.

Have used for this years n was loyal to brand. Forced to find something new. I am now using Milani Conceal+Perfect 06 Sand Beige! Even better than True Match!! Sometimes change is hard but soo worth it when you find somethingbetter! Try the 06 Sand Beige shade. It's a new beginning! I promise you will love it!

Since the stores were alway out of N5, I’m assuming more customers will find the same results a move on to a new brand. Very frustrating!
