What a Wonderful Product!
I love this product because my brown highlighted hair is greying in some spots, and I don't want to 100% cover up all the grey, but just some of it. (My salon colorist just wants to color all my grey hairs brown.). This brush lets me play around and experiment with where I want the darks/browns vs the grey or the highlights. It partially lasts through several washes which was a plus for me. I took off one star because the medium brown color is very dark, and you don't offer any lighter colors. I wish you had a light brown and a dark blonde shade too. I don't think any other company makes a product like this, a temporary color that doesn't need to be mixed and can be delicately applied.

Works better than I expected
I was skeptical about this because didn't know if it would stand out different to my hair color. I was amazed at how it blended in and covered the grey roots. This will definetly help stretch out my hair appointments longer. I am so excited!

Too dark

SWorks great for darker colored hair
I purchased the lightest available color of Medium Brown. But it is still too dark as my hair is a light brown. It worked great but didn't match enough. I tried to use more sparingly but still too dark. Please make in lighter shades. But if you have darker hair I would highly recommend.

Need a Light Brown & Red Brown Option
I use your L’Oreal Excellence Creme 6RB Light Reddish Brown hair color. The medium brown pen is too dark to touch up my roots. Same with your touch up spray. Please offer better options for a wider range of your consumers. Thank you.

Application issues
I have purchased this a few times and I really like the product but more than once I have found the applicator does not work properly. I turn it many times and only receive a few applications from it. I am not sure if its not working properly or perhaps it has dried up inside? Nonetheless frustrating.

Horrible product
I bought this hoping for an easy root touch up. It was not a nice experience. Yes, it applies easily and without mess. Evidently, you're supposed to leave it on without washing it out of your hair. However, it made my hair extremely stiff. I don't want product just sitting on my hair, so I tried to wash it out. It finally came out after THREE WASHES. Never again.

Amazing coverup
This is by far the absolute best root touch up!!! I am the biggest fan. I genuinely dislike getting my roots done every 2 weeks, It drives me mad. My roots are very visible at 2 weeks. This is amazing, it covers up all of the shimmer from my root growth, I have so many different brand root cover up but this is the absolute best! Thank youuuu I am so happy

Works but is too dark.
The brown is too dark. Please make a lighter color for those of us who have dark & grey roots with lighter-colored hair. Since this is not the right color for me, I won't buy it again - but if it's the right color for you, then you will probably love it. Good size for travel too.

Awesome product!! LOVE IT!
Where has this been my entire life! I will never use anything else after having found this pen. The product is odorless, dries quickly and absolutely covers all my grays 100%. The brush concept ensures that the product does not go on clumpy on my hair. I prefer this over the spray as I can control what parts of my hair I can cover. I love this product so much that I hope L'Oreal will make this forever!!

Applicator is a dud (apparently).
No matter how many times I click the applicator (50+?), I'm not getting any color! ???? Apart from that (not so small problem), this seems like a great idea for those of us who use semi-permanent haircolor and find the hair at our temples turning white between colorings.

Stains gray hair!
I am growing out my gray hair and have been using the spray to cover up the gray while it grows out (they dyed hair is dark brown). I purchased the Precision pen and tried it for the first time on Monday. I wash my hair no more than twice a week, and when I washed my hair this morning, it did not wash out completely. 4 months of growth down the drain if this doesn't eventually wash out. I do not recommend if you have decided to embrace your gray. I know the box is tiny, but there should be a warning that it might stain. If I wasn't trying to grow out my natural silver hair, I would have given this a better rating.

Covers the grays
I had to turn the pen more than recommended the first time. I accidentally got it on my scalp. It is a precision pen so make sure your pull the hair up and then apply.

I received this as a complimentary item to use and review. I love how easy this was to use. I often have to go a few days between when I need to touch up the color and when I actually have time to touch up the roots. This can be done on the fly with this product. I love that if I notice a gray spot after I've done my hair, I can just touch it up and it's not obvious.

I received the Precision Pen as part of a Vox Box review. I put off using it, because I was nervous about it. I had nothing to worry about. It is super easy to use and blend into your hair without staining your scalp at all. It washes out in your next shampoo. It goes on just as easy as your make-up.
My only issue is that as a curly-girl, it doesn't fit into my usual routine. My curls are fragile, and I usually air-dry with minimal touching. However, on days when I blow-out my hair, I can use this to touch-up to hide my greys.

Easy to use!!
I received a free Root precision pen from Influenster. Unfortunately i have red hair and the dark brown on i received didnt match very well..but i did experiment with it and liked it alot. It was very easy to use. I thought it would drip all over the place but it didn't. Its quick and easy to use. Only thing was that once it dries if you like to play with your hair it will be stiff and sticky. Overall good value, hope they add more colors.

I received a complimentary Prevision Pen for reviewing purposes. It was perfect for that in between stage and you need to fo somewhere & need an emergency touch up. It was quick and easy. My hair is dyed burgundy so I used dark brown. It worked!

Great Coverage
First off I love the applicator brush, it really makes this a very quick and easy way to cover those pesky grays. The coverage is amazing. It did not transfer at all which is a huge plus. It blended great with the color of my hair as well. It worked better than I expected. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quick and easy fix in between coloring. It Works!!
I tried the L'Oreal Magic Root Precision Pen and I really liked it. I color my hair regularly and since the color is black stray grays and gray hair regrowth at the temple is a constant issue for me. The Magic root precision pen helped a lot with these issues in between colorings. If you follow the directions precisely the product is easy and quick to apply. The color was long lasting and did not come off during my day. I have already recommended to my friends. I received this product as a free complimentary trial from VoxBox and I have to say I was really impressed!

Love this product
I received this product from Influenster for free. I tried it on my gray roots and I must say I love it! I have used a powder form of root cover in the past, which worked fine, but this L’Oréal Precision Pen works better in my opinion. It is easier to use and covers really well. I have already bought another one, just so I’ll have it when I need it. Go buy it and see for yourself!

Once again I've received some amazing free products from Influenster to review, and I'm so excited about it! The Magic Root Precision Pen is perfect for covering those pesky grays. It's actually seems as though it was made for me! My hair grows very fast especially around the hairline around my face, but is also thinning in that area. Applying typical hairdye in those thinning areas is messy, stains my skin, I usually miss the strays and I don't always have the time or energy for a full dye application. The Precision Pen perfectly covers those difficult areas. Its very easy to use. I was able to get the strays and I didnt dye my skin in the process. It also was a perfect color match and washed out easily. I wish L'Oreal would've developed this pen along time ago. I'm a huge fan and highly recommend!

Perfect for covering some colors
When I received the L'Oreal Root Covering Precision Pen as a complimentary product to try from Influenster, I decided to try using it to cover some roots in my blue-black and crimson-dyed hair. The pen was easy to use, easy to apply, and cover the roots wonderfully. There were some spots where the plain black was noticible next to the crimson, but it blended surprisingly well with the blue-black, and lasted all day!

Great color payoff
This pen really has a substantial amount of product in it and the color payoff in the dark brown was outstanding. I have medium to dark blonde color treated hair with roots that come in about 75% gray at this point and definitely was needing a touch up product to use the last 2 weeks before new all over color treatment was done. The dark brown gave a very natural darker rooted look to the gray areas. It also stayed in Until I washed my hair and did not add a strange texture or oiliness. The precision pen has the advantage of a small size applicator in order to make a more precise application possible, and while it does provide that, the method of application, the brush bristles, seem too soft to provide a smooth application process. I feel that a mascara wand or spoolie would be a better choice in order to manage the amount of product deposited and the greater precision of application in the areas around the face. I just brushed the product on an old mascara wand and it worked well for me. I also used it on a slanted eyebrow brush and used it to fill in my brows and it worked great- even covered the stubborn gray eyebrow hairs! I received this pen and the spray on root touch up product complimentary in order to test and provide an honest review, and I found both products to perform as advertised and will be adding them to my hair color care routine. These are excellent products.

Easy to use.

Gray, Gray go away!
I received this product courtesy of Influenster and feel very lucky to have tried it! My stylist had been out of town for 6 weeks and I was about 10 weeks out from my last color so the gray was everywhere! Lucky for me, this pen arrived in the mail for me to try and let me tell you it works!! I had at least a half inch of gray at my temples and along my hair line and a few swipes of this Magic Pen and my gray was gone! I am sold on the product because it’s easy to use and lasts all day! I’m hoping to see more color options down the road but for now the dark brown works!!!

No Disappointment Here
I loved L’Oreal’s Magic Root Cover-up Spray, so I was really excited to try the new L’Oreal Precision Pen. No disappointment here. It’s so easy to use and just what is needed for smaller areas, like my temples. The formulation of actual product was very nice and left my hair quite manageable and without stickiness. My new go to root touch up!
I received this complimentary from Influenster to try. I was amazed at how easy it is to use, you can control the amount using the dial that you turn to release more color, it catches stray grey hairs so easily, I use it before a gym workout and it lasts all day, if not longer, it does not smudge or transfer to anything else. It’s a great size to just throw in my bag for any touch ups on the go. I will not be without this in future, I can wait longer between colorings to take care of my grays. Best of all, this blends in beautifully with my hair color so you cannot tell.

The color match is spot on and I like that it doesn't transfer like the spray sometimes does. The only issue I have is that the color payoff could be better. I really found this product to be a very smart idea. I have never tried this product before nor had I ever seen a product like this other than this brand advertised on television. This is FANTASTIC!!!
I was lucky enough to receive an Influenster Voxbox from L'Oreal Paris. They sent me their new Magic Root Precision Pen. It's a temporary gray concealer for temple and scattered pesky gray hairs.
The Precision Pen:
Odorless and non-sticky non-greasy.
Consistancy is like a slightly creamy powder.
Small, thin and easily fits in a even a tiny makeup bag.
Very easy to use.
A little goes along way.
Does it work?
YES!!!! it's great. I was able to easily cover up the coiley little grays around my temple as well as the ones that stick up out of my locs. Because I use oils and holding gel for my edges (temple area) I was concerned that the temporary concealer would bleed and/or fade away. It doesn't and it does last until you wash it out. Overall I think it's an excellent product and I will definitely be purchasing it in the future.

This Root Precision Pen is Amazing!
L’Oreal has always been an innovative company with their new product ideas and this precision pen is no exception! What a wonderful idea! I love the portability of the precision pen and the application to cover my stubborn greys really worked well! The color match to my hair was very close. Maybe I wish it would last longer than one shampoo, but this is a great product for in a pinch when I can’t always find the time to color my hair/cover those errant grey hairs. I liked the finished result, no annoying smell, and the coverage was amazing. I will purchase this product again. Surprised by great features !

L’Oréal precision pen is great. It allows you to touch up small areas and it so small you can take it with you. It last until you wash it out; just in case you want to do something different. There also isn’t an smell when you use L’Oréal precision pen to color your gray.

I received the complementary Precision Pen to try and voice my opinion. I have always wanted to give the pen a try and not that I have tried it I absolutely love it! It was the week before my hair appointment for coloring and my gray hair on the crown and right by my ears were very obvious. I used the pen as directed and the gray was gone! It lasted over two days and I was very happy with the results. Definately get a precision pen for between colorings. You won’t be disappointed

Truely precision application!
The thing I liked most about the precision pen was actually the precision of application. You can target precisely the area you want to cover. I loved it for the temple and part. The color payoff was great and the coverage was very good without the need to over apply. As with all the temporary root coverage products I’ve tried, the finished texture is a bit tacky. I guess this is unavoidable because they all have this issue. I just use the product as my last step in styling and it doesn’t effect my finished style. The product washes out easily. The shade I received was a bit too dark for me, but even so it still looked natural. I am an Influenster and I received this product in a Voxbox. I much prefer this precision pen to a spray type product because you can apply it exactly where you want it and the coverage is great. I will definitely purchase this product in a shade closer to my own.
