I bought this eyeliner because I liked the grey color. It is easy to apply and I was very happy with it until I found out it won't advance at all - it only turns and turns. Very disappointing and certainly not worth buying if all you get to use is the original tip it comes with.

For best results, turn the pencil gently in the sharpener 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. After sharpening, remove all shavings from the blade edge. Your sharpener should be replaced whenever the blade has dulled and is no longer giving the expected results. We hope this information helps!

I just bought this and the product came off when I applied eyeshadow with a soft brush applicator. Then it smudged into the creases above my eyes. ABSOLUTELY NOT ALL-DAY ABSOLUTELY NOT SMUDGE PROOF

The "Original Pencil Perfect" was perfect!

I've been buying the Loreal Pencil Perfect ebony eye liner for years. This is the self advancing one, with the gold top. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it, so I bought this. It's horrible! It breaks very easily, it does not go on smoothly, and it's much "harder" than the pencil perfect that Loreal had put out before. Why they ruined a good thing, I have no idea. I'm going on ebay and will be looking for the original pencil perfect eyeliner, with the gold top. Now, THAT is a good product.

no way to sharpen or advance it

I LOVE L'Oreal and use a lot of their products. I have to say this one is highly disappointing and I will not be purchasing it again. I used the eyeliner three times and love it, it stayed on, went on smoothly, BUT, the eyeliner will not advance. No matter how much I twist the bottom of the pencil, the eyeliner will not come out. I am so very disappointed as I liked the product, but now I feel like I spent too much money on something I was only able to wear three times. I wish I hadn't of thrown the packaging away, I would of taken it back. I hope you solve this problem!

Self-Advancing is extremely problematic

I bought this and loved it at the start. the actual pencil is great, but the mechanism is horrible. As I used it the Self-Advancing mechanism stopped working. It would turn, but it would not advance. I wanted to give it a second try and the same thing happened again. I will not purchase this again and I cannot recommend this particular eyeliner.

Like many others on this review, gently turning the base to the right to “sharpen” is useless. I have gotten two use of this eyeliner only. I was happy when I initially got the product, but this self advancing “technology” ruins it completely. Bought it broken apparently

I bought this from a Rite Aid and I really liked it the first several times I wore it. However, it won't twist up or down and I'm positive it's not used up since I've only had it for about 3 weeks and don't wear eyeliner every day! I'm assuming mine is broken because if it's not supposed to twist up to have more eyeliner then it's a huge waste! Probably won't be buying it again since I wasted my money on being able to use it only a few times.

Bought this 5 months ago and it's almost used up. Love this product. It is what it says it does. All day wear, smear proof. I should buy extras if I can find it!

I found this eyeliner about 3 years ago. It is by far the best eyeliner I have ever used! Goes on smoothly and last all day into the night. It even stays on when I go swimming! Hands down best eyeliner ever! I highly recommend!

I am very dissatisfied with this product. Within an hour of applying I look like a raccoon. I have never had an eyeliner smudge and smear as badly as this one. Very disappointed.

OK not the best

Love how black and pigmented it is i have the shade carbon black and it also glides on like a dream but...it smudges and fades like its no ones business and dosent stay on the water line (max. it stays on is 1 hour and it dosent look that black after an hour) oh yeah i got mine from ulta and it came broken it wouldnt twist up or down.-.

Very bad quality - Highly disappointing experience

I have tried using this eye liner 2-3 times since I have purchased it but I am highly unsatisfied with the quality of the product. After using this liner, I get some uncontrollable irritaion in my eyes which has given me allergy in my eyes. I had never expected such bad quality product from a brand like Loreal. But, Unfortunately this has given me a very bad image of the brand Loreal. I am highly dis satisfied with the brand and product after this experience and would never buy it in future

This is the only eyeliner I use. It goes on well, doesn't smudge, but blends well when I want to. I am having difficulty finding this color lately, however. I have been to three stores that normally carried it and they only have black or brown. I sincerely hope you are not discontinuing it!

I have this in cocoa and expresso. I would think the expresso would be darker brown, however, the ones I have the cocoa is the darker one. I love this eyeliner and have used for years. Stays sharp and stays on for all day. LOVE this eyeliner. Wish I could find the sage and blue!

Love this shade and I can't find it anymore

I love the sage shade of the Pencil Perfect Eyeliner. Rite Aid and Walgreens in Spokane WA used to carry this shade, and now they don't. Please advise where I may purchase this shade in Spokane. Thank you.

Proscolor, long lasting, creamy and easy to apply.

Is pencil perfect eyeliner waterproof? I see its good for sensitive eyes which I have but I can't wear anything that is waterproof. Can you tell me if this is waterproof? I'd also be interested if you have any other eyeliners that are NOT waterproof.

I have purchased 2 of these and neither work past the second or third application. I thought the first one was just defective and now the second one is doing the same thing. It will not advance no matter which way I try to turn it. Is there a trick?

This is the self advancing one, with the gold top. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it, so I bought this. It's horrible! It breaks very easily, it does not go on smoothly, and it's much "harder" than the pencil perfect that Loreal had put out before. Why they ruined a good thing, I have no idea. I'm going on ebay and will be looking for the original pencil perfect eyeliner, with the gold top. Now, THAT is a good product.

I didnt think much of it at first but once I roller the eyeliner up I found that i could not rollit back down. With my ollder one that was never a problem. I am not happy that it wont roll back down. I sugggest that Germany should make this eyeliner cause they did a MUCH better job.

It always glides on so smoothly and lasts all day without smearing or smudging, even in out hot Phoenix summers! I only wish it came in more colors (I have the Cocoa and the Paris Blue). Love it!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by ctreider from The perfect black This eye liner is very easy to use, and goes on smooth. The black is the darkest shade of black i have ever found, and it looks amazing on. It really covers over the eye lid, even after having on eye shadow. Some eye liners dont cover over makeup very well, but this goes on great. The only complaint I would have is that the barrel advanced the eye liner to the tip of the cover lid, and will not go back down. I threw away a brand new pencil, having only used it once. But its overall fantastic!!!!

Is pencil perfect eyeliner waterproof? I see its good for sensitive eyes which I have but I can't wear anything that is waterproof. Can you tell me if this is waterproof? I'd also be interested if you have any other eyeliners that are NOT waterproof.
