Excellent
I’m not young and in all my years this is the best eyeliner I’ve ever used. It goes on smooth and easy. The color is natural. I absolutely love this product.

Check your returns and find the problem.
I can't get the pencil to advance. How does it sharpen the tip, Where is the sharpener. I can't get it to work. A video would help. After seeing the other reviews it appears, I'm not the only one having a problem with the pencil.

It made me say bye-bye to Mary Kay!
For the longest time I only used Mary Kay eye liner. I couldn’t find a store brand that worked as well. Then I found this one! It’s BETTER than Mary Kay! I’ll never go back!

Won't advance
I bought this eyeliner because I liked the grey color. It is easy to apply and I was very happy with it until I found out it won't advance at all - it only turns and turns. Very disappointing and certainly not worth buying if all you get to use is the original tip it comes with.

Love
First eyeliner I bought in years and I decided to go to Walgreens and buy. Way cheaper than others I looked at. Hubby and I were gonna eat out and I had him stop so I could buy, and I put it on while he was driving...loved it!!

Doesn’t extend

Defective
I ordered this product off of walmart, and product was defective. "Self advancing" was not effective. Despite my efforts to advance pencil, I was unsuccessful. Product was only a couple of days old, and unable to use.

NOT Smudge-Proof
I just bought this and the product came off when I applied eyeshadow with a soft brush applicator. Then it smudged into the creases above my eyes.

The "Original Pencil Perfect" was perfect!
I've been buying the Loreal Pencil Perfect ebony eye liner for years. This is the self advancing one, with the gold top. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it, so I bought this. It's horrible! It breaks very easily, it does not go on smoothly, and it's much "harder" than the pencil perfect that Loreal had put out before. Why they ruined a good thing, I have no idea. I'm going on ebay and will be looking for the original pencil perfect eyeliner, with the gold top. Now, THAT is a good product.

Poor performance

no way to sharpen or advance it
I LOVE L'Oreal and use a lot of their products. I have to say this one is highly disappointing and I will not be purchasing it again. I used the eyeliner three times and love it, it stayed on, went on smoothly, BUT, the eyeliner will not advance. No matter how much I twist the bottom of the pencil, the eyeliner will not come out. I am so very disappointed as I liked the product, but now I feel like I spent too much money on something I was only able to wear three times. I wish I hadn't of thrown the packaging away, I would of taken it back. I hope you solve this problem!

Does not last, smudges, and does not twist
I was originally going to purchase a different brand of eyeliner but at the last minute I chose this one instead. It does not last long and smudges easily, and it also does not advance. It doesn't look good.

Will not advance!

Self-Advancing is extremely problematic
I bought this and loved it at the start. the actual pencil is great, but the mechanism is horrible. As I used it the Self-Advancing mechanism stopped working. It would turn, but it would not advance. I wanted to give it a second try and the same thing happened again. I will not purchase this again and I cannot recommend this particular eyeliner.

Doesn’t not advance
Like many others on this review, gently turning the base to the right to “sharpen” is useless. I have gotten two use of this eyeliner only. I was happy when I initially got the product, but this self advancing “technology” ruins it completely. I was hoping I could find tips on how to advance it on here, but saw the same response, which doesn’t work.

Disappointed; wasted money; does not work
I bought this about 2 months ago and replaced it after the first month with another brand. I threw away the package or else I would return it. I can not get it to advance so it doesn't matter how well it worked initially.

Does not retract
I purchase this about a month ago on the ulta website and it seems I only get the amount that was above the casing and doesn't retract and i followed the directions to use this product and I don't see how i could use this as no product appears while attempting to retract.

Bought it broken apparently
I bought this from a Rite Aid and I really liked it the first several times I wore it. However, it won't twist up or down and I'm positive it's not used up since I've only had it for about 3 weeks and don't wear eyeliner every day! I'm assuming mine is broken because if it's not supposed to twist up to have more eyeliner then it's a huge waste! Probably won't be buying it again since I wasted my money on being able to use it only a few times.

I found this eyeliner about 3 years ago. It is by far the best eyeliner I have ever used! Goes on smoothly and last all day into the night. It even stays on when I go swimming! Hands down best eyeliner ever! I highly recommend!

I am very dissatisfied with this product. Within an hour of applying I look like a raccoon. I have never had an eyeliner smudge and smear as badly as this one. Very disappointed.

OK not the best
Love how black and pigmented it is i have the shade carbon black and it also glides on like a dream but...it smudges and fades like its no ones business and dosent stay on the water line (max. it stays on is 1 hour and it dosent look that black after an hour) oh yeah i got mine from ulta and it came broken it wouldnt twist up or down.-.

Always smooth INTENSE color

Very bad quality - Highly disappointing experience
I have tried using this eye liner 2-3 times since I have purchased it but I am highly unsatisfied with the quality of the product. After using this liner, I get some uncontrollable irritaion in my eyes which has given me allergy in my eyes.
I had never expected such bad quality product from a brand like Loreal. But, Unfortunately this has given me a very bad image of the brand Loreal. I am highly dis satisfied with the brand and product after this experience and would never buy it in future

I love Paris Blue
This is the only eyeliner I use. It goes on well, doesn't smudge, but blends well when I want to. I am having difficulty finding this color lately, however. I have been to three stores that normally carried it and they only have black or brown. I sincerely hope you are not discontinuing it!

THE BEST!!!
I have this in cocoa and expresso. I would think the expresso would be darker brown, however, the ones I have the cocoa is the darker one. I love this eyeliner and have used for years. Stays sharp and stays on for all day. LOVE this eyeliner. Wish I could find the sage and blue!

Love this shade and I can't find it anymore
I love the sage shade of the Pencil Perfect Eyeliner. Rite Aid and Walgreens in Spokane WA used to carry this shade, and now they don't. Please advise where I may purchase this shade in Spokane. Thank you.

Tip is so soft, it often breaks...
...And I do not apply too much pressure. It seems that I have this problem with approx. every other pencil I buy. I do continue to purchase it because I like the color and the fact that it self advances. I only wish they would change the formula to be more similar to the one years ago that was not this soft.

LOVE this shade, THE most enhancing hazel eyes...
This is excellent not only for the perfect shade, that goes with everything and enhances eye shape without being harsh, is the ease of silky application that doesn't tug at my eyelids, AND it stays put well. I too have been driven to the web to find it, as it's been unavailable in local stores this past year. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??! L'Oreal, please bring back sage, at least on your company website, if not your retail vendors. Why turn away satisfied customers? My daughters keep taking mine too.

This is the best pencil available
This pencil doesn't smudge, lasts all day and doesn't need touching up, It also goes on really smooth and easy. I just love it! I don't do reviews, that's how much I love this product. I have a 15 year old who always steals my make up - she knows if she doesn't return this one, she'll be in trouble. We usually keep backups just for this reason.

This outlines/accentuates the color of blue eyes!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PARIS BLUE L'OREAL EYELINER! I use it on the lower part of my eye to line the inner part of my eye just above my lower eyelashes. It just sets off the color blue in my eyes and outlines the shape of my eye. It makes my blue eyes absolutely stand out! I have received numerous compliments from females and males. Especially males think that I am wearing color contacts because of how it brings out the blue in my eyes! Females want to know how I create the look as well!

Not as Good
I am not pleased with 'New' Pencil Perfect, in the color Ebony. A year or two ago i had bought this, but after comparing the two together, i saw that the older on was made in Germany, and the new one in the U.S.A. I didnt think much of it at first but once I roller the eyeliner up I found that i could not rollit back down. With my ollder one that was never a problem. I am not happy that it wont roll back down. I sugggest that Germany should make this eyeliner cause they did a MUCH better job.

Truly Perfect
This liner totally lives up to the name "perfect". I love that it twists up so I never need a sharpener! It always glides on so smoothly and lasts all day without smearing or smudging, even in out hot Phoenix summers! I only wish it came in more colors (I have the Cocoa and the Paris Blue). Love it!!!

it did not went too smootly on my waterline..
and when i wanted to twist the eyeliner it didnt work it got stucck

The perfect black
This eye liner is very easy to use, and goes on smooth. The black is the darkest shade of black i have ever found, and it looks amazing on. It really covers over the eye lid, even after having on eye shadow. Some eye liners dont cover over makeup very well, but this goes on great. The only complaint I would have is that the barrel advanced the eye liner to the tip of the cover lid, and will not go back down. I threw away a brand new pencil, having only used it once. But its overall fantastic!!!!
