Best eyeliner!
This is my favorite eyeliner! I'm not sure why a lot of people seem to be having a bad experience with it.... Mine sharpened all the way down. I bought a brand name eyeliner after I used up this one and am counting down the days until it is time to buy a new one so I can switch back to this!

This eyeliner is as good as , but mostly
BETTER than , most department store BRANDS
That I've used and I've tried MANY!
I'm definitely a makeup AFICIONADO...
It glides on super smooth and Extremely Black with just One coat and that's exactly what I want!

People that are having a difficult time sharpening
This eyeliner are using the wrong sharpener.
Not all sharpeners are met for all liners .You need to experiment until you find the right one.

My favorite eyeliner!
I discovered this eyeliner nine years ago. It is amazing. I’ve tried other eyeliners, but nothing compares to this one. I appreciate the quality of this eyeliner. I’ve tried both Urban Decay’s and Marc Jacobs eyeliner. This by far is superior in my opinion.

Nice and dark but too soft for comfort
I am in agreement with the other reviewers on the product. I had high praises for the eyeliner pencil until I needed to sharpen. Once you are pass the nib and need to expose more wax by sharpening, you can consider the pencil a waste of money and only good for the garbage. The soft wax gets imbedded in the sharpener and the pencil is unusable. It is messy. I was able to sharpen once and the wax was exposed BUT on application the entire waxy part slid out of the wooden pencil. I tried 4 different pencils (thinking that each one was deective) and 3 different sharpeners (it could possibly the brand of sharpener. Even after reading the reviews and LÓreals response to look into and improve the product, the same problem exists. DO NOT BUY!!!

total waste of money
Once the visible nib of the pencil is used, that's it, it can be discarded as it has not further use. I don't understand the "liquid pencil eyeliner" part. Mine did not have any liquid.

Don’t buy
Second one I bought. First on I returned thinking it was faulty, it was not! Second one is the same way. You only get what is originally showing one the pencil and defiantly not worth the money.

Waste of money
This eyeliner works great until you use up the little nub of eyeliner that was originally sticking out. Can't sharpen. The rest of what's in the shaft is wasted. I've seen L'Oreal comment that they appreciate feedback and will work on the products and stuff but there's someone who said this two years ago and apparently they're still selling it :-/

Not User Friendly
I bought this pencil, twice now and each time the experience was awful & messy! You cannot sharpen this pencil. If by chance you can get it to turn round your sharpener, the product is soft and ends up all over your fingers. This could be a good product, but the "liquid" needs to change to a more solid type. The wood most be flexible enough to be sharpened. I've thrown this pencil away both time before I even got half way through it. Such a waste!

Very Disappointing
I used this pencil for about a week. I loved it then tried to sharpen it. I bought and used the dual sharpener recommended. I tried several times to sharpen it but the plastic was always left with sharp edges that hurt my eyes. I loved the look and feel of the eyeliner, but you can only use it until the exposed nub is gone. Then it is useless unless you want to risk scratching you eyes. Very disappointed in this.
I usually love L'Oreal products, but this pencil was not a good purchase. I truly had to throw it away. I tried several times to sharpen it. I purchased the L'Oreal dual sharpener as recommended, tried soft pressure, medium pressure and hard pressure. It did not matter, the plastic was always sharp and would hurt my eyes. I even tried to take a small file and smooth off the edges. That helped a little, but is way to much work for an eyeliner.

Wonderful eyeliner
This eyeliner is the best ever it is so soft. It goes on so smooth I am 61 and my eyelids are a little wrinkled but this eyeliner still glides on perfect! Thank you L’Oréal for a great product!

technical issues
I like the product, but after one use I dropped it and the tip came off. It would NOT twist up at all. I twisted and twisted and finally fit a metal prong inside of it and the entire product came out. I am disappointed that I was only able to use this product one time. There are NO instructions on the packaging about how to access the product (twisting did NOT work).

Should've paid attention of the other 99 neg. ppl.
Loved this the first time . The tip was perfect and the application was perfect . However when I went to put the cap on it broke off the tip and it wouldn't sharpen at all . I am returning it to the store at least I can get my $7.50 back !

Loreal - Extra Intense Pencil Eyeliner
I have bought two of these and much to my disappointment. I could only use them about twice and they get so dull on the tip that I can not use them. I will never buy this product ever again. I like the Loreal Infallible but it does not last long either but it works much better than the Extra Intense. I tried to sharpen the pencil and it would still not work.

Unfriendly - Needed to be quality tested more
I will never buy it again. It is incredibly difficult to apply well and without a sharpener, it's useless. I don't have one, so I'm just going to tear up the tip. What I've been doing is marking it on something, then taking the rubber tip and dipping it into the crayon. I'm calling it crayon, because that really is the consistency. LO - you really need to provide a sharpener.

Great product, suffering from design failure
I bought this product thinking it was a twisting eyeliner, because it exactly looks like one and the bottom part actually twists. I did not notice an explanation oterwise on the package before throwing it away, maybe the writing was too small to pay attention. After failing to elongate the tip, I thought maybe the pencil I bought had a faulty mechanism. Then I came here and learned it needs to be sharpened. Although the eyeliner has great colour and staying on power, I would not have bought it if I knew this. Now two questions 1) Why does a mega-company like Loreal still does not make this more evident on the package, despite many customers being misled and kept complaining since two years? 2) Is there no way to produce a thinner version of this eyeliner with twisting feature?

Finallly!
I only shop at Walmart for pet food but just happened to walk by Cosmetics and, silly optimistic me, decided once again to try to find a decent eyeliner. The "Liquid Pencil" drew me in and I have to tell you I LOVE this stuff! I'm looking to buy more (how long do they last?) in case you discontinue it. I've looked for years trying to find this Holy Grail of eyeliners and...finally! Thank You!

Absolutely loved this product until I tried to sharpen. It's impossible! Plastic sharpens with very sharp pieces that can scratch eye or eyelid. Eyeliner becomes a mushy messs and most winds up in the sharpener. Waste of money.

Liquid Pencil eyeliner love hate relationship
I love the extra-intense liquid pencil eyeliner. I use it in the brown color and it stays on all day.
The pencil glides on smoothly and I'm able to clean up along the edges with a face wipe or a dampened Qtip.
I find the liquid pencil eyeliner works better than the higher priced brands that I have used. There is one issue that I have with the applicator. It needs fixing or I need a lesson on what I'm doing wrong!!! I will buy a new pencil and am able to use the first section that is showing when I bought it. But I'm very frustrated with how to use the rest of the pencil.
I know your goal is to make a great product and it is. But the applicator needs big time work on it. After I've used the new part or first part of the pencil I've had to with much frustration and cursing hack off the opposite end and stick a Qtip down the center to push the rest forward!!!
For quit awhile I was able to just take the opposite end off and push a Qtip to use the rest of the pencil. This would cause me to try other products....but I always found I liked this one even with the frustration!!! Oh well I can live with a small problem to be able to use a product I like.
But the last 2 times I've bought this eyeliner things have gone from bad to worse!!
On the first of the last 2 times even the Qtip shoved thru the opposite end of the pencil was stopped dead. Like there was a wall put up. Totally upset I went on to use other products...which of coarse never measured up to extra-intense liquid pencil eyeliner. OK OK I thought don't go giving up so soon!! So being in the beauty aisle one afternoon....Hope against hope I purchased another extra-intense eyeliner. Got home used the first section that sits above the hard pencil, enjoying that smooth lovely liquid pencil line. Knowing it would stay on for the day.
Then got to the point where it was the hard shell of the pencil and once again I couldn't get at the rest of the liquid pencil. I did the usual take off the other end and shove a Qtip to push the rest of the liner forward. But nope....its like I hit a wall on the inside of the pencil that wouldn't let me shove the rest thru!! I know you want to make a good product and you do but either I need a class on how to get at the rest of the liner or you need to fix the applicator. I ended up cutting off the opposite end with some high powered shears and still with the use of a Qtip was able to get to the rest of the liner!!!
I love the liner and would hate to see you take it off the market because of sales and I believe the only reason people would stop using it is because of the applicator and the problem with the applicator.
Yes I would definitely recommend this product....
if if the applicator worked.
The quality and the value of this product are great
if if you can get thru the applicator!!!
Right now I wouldn't recommend to a friend because of the applicator!!
Please please show me what I'm doing wrong or lets fix the applicator.

Bad packaging!
Bought 2 weeks ago. Could not advance it. Went to store. They could not help me. Bought another one to get through holidays I love it so much. It actually stays on,,Came here and see I have to buy a sharpener. Why didn’t it come together in same package No directions. Send me a sharpener!

Smudges and sharp tip hard to get
Waste of money with this liner. I wanted an eye liner that would give me liquid eyeliner type consistency but in a pencil form. This one definitely didn't. It smudges and as other reviewers have commented, the pencil doesn't sharpen well and lays on too thick.

very difficult to sharpen
I have used this eyeliner for a few months, and really love the way it stays put after applying. However, the wood casing it is enclosed in is very difficult to sharpen, which is usually needed after each use. I am always left with sharp splinters around the liner itself, which is quite uncomfortable and difficult to work with. I have been unable to find the recommended L'Oreal pencil sharpener in any stores, and I'm not sure if it would really make a difference in the application of this product.

Misleading design, waste of money
This product is designed to look like a mechanical pencil that can be twisted to reveal a 'stick' of eyeliner. If it had been clear that it was a pencil that needed to be sharpened, I would not have purchased it. I was specifically looking for a replacement for a similar product from Estee Lauder, which costs much more. Well, you get what you pay for. In this case, in trying to figure out how to expose more of the pencil, I touched the end and it "melted' between my fingers. I haven't even used it once!! L'Oreal has to explain over and over that you must buy their sharpener, and very carefully and gently twist just a few times. Too much trouble!!!
And there isn't enough product in there. I have completely wasted my money unless the store will take it back.

Too Expensive for only 1/4" of product!
I actually do like this eyeliner, but couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to twist more product out of the pencil - until I finally realized there was no more - it only came with the 1/4" shown when it's brand new! WHAT??? Why so expensive for so little product?

Extra Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner--THE BEST
I love this liquid pencil eyeliner! I wear all the colors. Grey is my favorite! It glides on smoothly! I have been buying this product for years! Don't waste your money
After buying and using the pencil 3 times, it needed sharpening. I tried 4 different types of sharpeners including one from a competitive cosmetic line. The wrapped area of the pencil became mangled and left a blunt end on the product which could not be used with any success and in some cases simply broke off. This is a total waste of money and now that I have read the reviews and see the vast majority who say the same thing, L'Oreal should not only reimburse all of us but remove this product from the market.

Don't waste your money!
Tip doesn't last long before it needs sharpened, then it never really becomes the sharp tip you start out with. I assumed the pen has a built in sharpener but it does not. Everyone that purchases this should get their money back. Don't waste your money.

Did formula change??
I started using this liner around August 2016. I just brought my 3rd or 4th eyeliner pencil. This one does not go on easily as the previous ones I had (which I loved) did. This drags, and smears. It's also very hard to wash off and the others I had were not. I wash my face and I have black greasy feeling smudges left on my eyelids.
Did the formula change from what it was to start with??

I had to come here to figure out how to use more than the exposed nib of this pencil. The packaging is unclear and it is definitely not normal or clear that you'd be sharpening a pencil by peeling away plastic. This pencil even has a twisting motion so you just assume you're out of liner even after using just the visible nib. Dumb design, poorly explained, unnecessarily complicated and wasteful. Bring back wood/pulp pencils.

My favorite drugstore eyeliner, hands-down
Over the past year or so, I've bought 3 of these. It is my go-to drugstore eyeliner and I recommend it to everyone looking for an easy pigmented glide and something that will stay on the waterline. I don't use the smudger since I usually set my eyeliner with a black eyeshadow anyway.
Sharpening is difficult, so I recommend the Slice cosmetic sharpener (for this and any other pencils you have with a cosmetic casing). It sharpens beautifully and there's no mess.
If there was a mechanical version of this formula, I'd throw my money down within a second. (Beauty for Real's i-line 24/7 is pretty close.)

Won't sharpen
This eyeliner is wonderful until you have to sharpen it. Once that first use is over and the nice fine tip is gone , forget it you will never get it sharpened again. I have bought 3 sharpener to try thinking it was my sharpener and nope it doesn't work . If you sharpen it , it will just continually to turn then you go to use it and the eyeliner part will break off or fall out . Love the eyeliner but they need to figure this problem out ! Looks like this is such a complaint I can't believe they can't fix it !

Annoyed with the sharpening feature
Annoyed by the difficult albeit impossible sharpening feature. I absolutely loved the product until I realized that I couldn't sharpen it. The pencil lasted for exactly four applications before I realized that I didn't have a sharpener industrial enough. Disappointed and sorry I wasted the money. I won't buy this pencil again.

Long lasting and easy!
I've been wearing this eyeliner for at least 4 years and I absolutely LOVE it! It stays all day, does not run, and lasts for a long time. (I usually go through a pencil every 2 months and i wear it every day.) I love that it looks like liquid, but is easy to apply. Most other reviewers are giving this product 1 star because they don't know how to sharpen it. If you have a good sharpener, that's not a problem, at all. 3 or 4 twists will do the trick.

Waste of Money
There is no way to get more product out of this eyeliner — meaning what you see for the tip when you buy is all you get. So basically, you get approximately 5 uses out of this and then need to trash it, because what's left is too small and nubby to even be used. I honestly can't even believe Loreal is selling such a trash product.

Worked well only for 3-4 applications.......
This liner went on easily and was what I was looking for, intense color and smooth application, for about 3-4 times. I first tried to roll it up then dug the packaging out of the garbage can and read that it is to be sharpened, which left a sharp shard of wood or whatever it was encased in near the tip. I then broke that piece off and still tried to use it but it was loose inside the pencil and had a nubby tip now which was hard to control. Also it seemed to be "dried out" and would not go on smooth like before.

I purchased this product recently. When I used up the tip, I could not twist up any more product. I was going to call today, but by seeing these reviews I find out that this does not twist up. I would not have purchased if I would have know that. Based on the look of the item I thought it would twist, since it is similar to another LOREAL eyeliner that twists. It does not seem like one you have to sharpen. I did not read the package, so I don't know if that is stated.. I now have to purchase a sharpener, so we will see what happens.

Never again!
I purchased this eyeliner about 2 weeks ago. I couldn't figure out how to sharpen it. Still can't. It was a total waste of time and money. Normally L 'Oreal has wonderful quality but not this product. Someone really dropped the ball here. I'm very disappointed

Long lasting!
This is the first and only pencil eyeliner that is affordable and actually stays on! I can wear it all day and all night and it will still be there. It is a little on the fat side, so you have to either like the bold look or be really careful with sharpening and applying, but otherwise it is an excellent product. If they made a skinnier version of this pencil, I would give it 5 stars.
Previously, I had to carry my pencil eyeliner around with me and reapply it multiple times throughout the day, but not this one.

Disappointed- waste of money!
Super disappointed- does not sharpen well at all. For the price you shouldn't have to buy a special sharpener also, it should work with any cosmetic sharpener.

Should have purchased my usual...
First time trying the Extra Intense bolder eyeliner. Terrible! Too thick and would not sharpen. I will return for my usual Infalible Eyeliner which works much better. I usually don't have this much trouble with L'Oreal products. Hopefully, they can rework this one.

"Incredible performance. I've always had some kind of problem with my eyeliner getting transferred to the brow bone, unless I use liquid ones. Cannot Sharpen!!
I used this product til the tip worked down to the pencil and could not find a sharpener to work on it. Its like sharpening plastic and all it did was crumble and make a huge mess! Also when applying it, its like applying paint and smears and gets all over til it dries.

I love this liquid pencil! It's so creamy and glides on so smoothly. I am very particular about the eye liners I buy and try out and have wasted alot of money searching for the 'right one'. I wish people would read the description!
This eyeliner is awesome! If the reviewers would have read the instructions, they would have seen that it is not a twist pencil, but it is one that needs to be sharpened. Once it is sharpened, it works wonders! It goes on with one quick stroke, and the color stays put. Very impressed!

Not sure what it's made out of but this liner really irritates my eyes. I have never had an issue with another eye liner brand irritating my eyes, so something different must be in this one. My eyes get extremely red and itchy and it makes my vision cloudy. Will not be purchasing this product again.

Terrible product!
I bought 2 of these one week ago. Two or 3 uses later, they are both unusable. No tip and unable to twist any product out. I just read the other reviews which say it is "pointless" (no pun intended) to purchase and attempt to use the sharpener and expect decent results. Extremely disappointed with what initially seemed to be a wonderful product.

Dissatisfied by this liner
I was so excited to try this new liner! I used it 3 times before realizing you cannot twist the pencil for more liner to come out. When I called the customer service rep, she explained how to use the pencil. Great thanks! Now I have to buy an additional L'Oréal product. I go buy the sharpener to "trim the hard plastic around the liner". The product does not work the same after. Very dissatisfied with this product. I use all L'Oréal products but I will not purchase this product again and will not recommend it!

God product, lousy delivery system
I have been a Loreal user for many years, and decided to try the Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner. I loved it the first few times: great line, sleek look. Then the tip broke. No problem, I thought as I tried to roll it up. Nothing happened. I tried again and again. Silly me, I had thrown out the package that told me you have to hand-sharpen this product (sharpener not provided). I hunted down a sharpener, but the results were not great: it did not sharpen evenly, and the wood points were quite uncomfortable when applied to the eyelid. The point kept breaking, the line was not precise, and the overall effect was less than perfect. After several attempts I threw it away. I won't buy this product gain and would hesitate to try another Loreal eyeliner after this experience. Please fix this product so others won't waste their money. Make it self-sharpening and I'll gladly try it again!

I bought this product and used it three times before the pencil tip wore down. I tried to advance the liner by twisting the pencil but nothing works. Went online to find out what I was doing wrong - found out that customers were trying to sharpen the pencil (as recommended by your site) even though the liner is encased in plastic! This liquid eye liner is a total waste of money because you cannot advance the product once you've applied what little is showing when the package is first opened.

Was SUPER EXCITED, then just let down
I bought this product buy one get one half off with my regular eyeliner and I was so excited to maybe find one that could compete with my regular, only to be highly disappointed!!!!! EVERY time I touch the product, the end breaks and I have to Re-sharpen it, only WASTING more (of what really was good product!) And I actually, after reading some reviews, went out and SPECIFICALLY bought the dual Loreal sharpener, thinking maybe my generic one was the problem!? Geez I'm sooooo crazy! So now I'm out 2 products I'LL NEVER USE and definitely never invest in again!
Now I'll stick with what's the best for me: LOREAL PERFECT PENCIL!
