FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does Purple Shampoo do for hair?

Infused with purple dye, the EverPure Purple Shampoo is designed to neutralize brassy tones by removing unwanted yellow or orange hues, helping blonde, highlighted, silver/gray hair maintain its vibrant, cool-toned color.

Why is the formula purple?

Purple shampoo works by using color theory to neutralize unwanted brassy, yellow, or orange tones in blonde, bleached, silver, or lightened hair. It acts as a temporary, at-home toner, depositing hibiscus and purple pigments that cancel out warm yellow tones, resulting in a cooler, brighter appearance.

What hair types and colors can benefit from Purple Shampoo?

The EverPure Purple system is formulated for various hair types, working effectively on all shades of blonde, highlighted brunette, silver, gray, and white hair. It helps enhance and preserve a brilliant, salon-fresh look.

Will EverPure Purple Shampoo dry my hair out?

No, the EverPure Purple system is created with a gentle, sulfate-free formula that leaves your hair thoroughly hydrated and moisturized while neutralizing brassiness. For best results, pair with EverPure Sulfate-Free Purple Conditioner.

What’s the best hair care regimen for gray, white, or silver hair?

For an optimal hair care routine, use EverPure Purple Shampoo 1–3 times a week to neutralize brass tones. For daily maintenance between toning treatments, try the EverPure Silver Care Shampoo and Conditioner to help keep silver and gray hair bright and healthy.

Why does my hair have a purple tint after using Purple Shampoo?

A slight purple hue indicates that too much product may have been used, or it stayed on your hair for too long. To avoid this, try using a smaller amount and rinsing it out sooner to achieve perfect toning results.

Why does the packaging look different?

While the packaging design of the EverPure Purple Shampoo may have been updated, rest assured that the formula is the same trusted product you’ve come to know and love.

Can I use this purple shampoo on curly or textured hair?

Yes, this sulfate-free purple shampoo is suitable for all hair types, including curly and textured hair. Its gentle formula tones brassy hues while helping to hydrate and smooth strands, leaving curls defined and vibrant.

A Miracle for grey hair.

My first shampoo with this product transformed my coarse grey hair, into soft, silky shine. I have naturally curly hair, with lots of grey. Now, it shimmers a vibrant silver. I had considered coloring my hair but after using Purple Shampoo, I'll keep my hair natural. I am so happy with this product and the price is makes it easily affordable.

I recently bought a long blonde human hair wig and it came with a brassy yellow tone so I bought L’Oréal sulfate free purple shampoo and wash it and soaked it in it for 15 minutes and it came out BEAUTIFULLY! It’s all gone and I love it! The best purple shampoo I’ve ever tried.

Excellent

I never write ratings however, I just used Loreal Ever Pure Purple Shampoo and I am amazed! I have highlighted blonde hair and bought the shampoo because I liked the idea of neutralizing any brassy tones. First, it was fun to use "purple" shampoo & I was not worried that I would end up with lavender hair color (on blonde). Also, did not need any after wash "color rinse" (although I would not have minded). I will definitely purchase this again!

This worked great for me. I used both the shampoo and conditioner as directed and got the results I wanted - my grey hair looks amazing - I wanted to have my grey hair stand out since I have salt/pepper hair and noticed it had started yellowing; I decided to give this brand a shot and was pleasantly surprised. My hair is also curly and my curls look great, it took the yellowing away. Definitely recommend

Hi there! Our EverPure-Brass-Toning-Purple-Sulfate-Free-Shampoo is meant to erase yellow tones. It may have turned purple because of the violet pigment contained within the shampoo. We suggest using a clarifying shampoo to release the purple tone. We are sorry you had this experience and will be passing this along.

My hair is ruined, Lawsuit sounds good right now.

After using this product twice a week on bleached hair, for about two months. All of a sudden my hair started breaking off and I don't mean just a little. I have a area the size of my hand on the back of my head where my hair is maybe 2 in long now. My hair wasn't breaking off after being bleached, and since I stopped using this product it's no longer breaking off. I have to cut my all my hair off now. I'm extremely upset over this.

I’m a natural light blonde but as I got older my hair began to darken a bit. I’ve used this shampoo for about a year now and I’m dead set on it. I used both today and here’s how my hair looks!

Finally have found a product for my Blonde..growing out to silver hair. Have used it only once..amazed at how it turned my silver hair into more of a steel gray and toned down my blonde weave which, is what I was hoping for. Hair is shining, full of body..very manageable. Have used many professional products that did not work this well. My hair is very long and very naturally curly.

I went to walmart and bought the L'oreal purple shampoo and conditioner. I love the shampoo and it does a great job of getting the brassiness out, however, the conditioner is awful. The conditioner smells good and feels great on my hair but it left hair with a nasty green tint. When my grandmother saw it she asked if I went swimming..... Now I've been doing this platinum blonde thing for a while and I just don't suggest this product.

Blue NOT Purple!!

I got this and expected it to be dark purple like other purple hair toning products I’ve used, but it is a very vivid BLUE! I compared it to purple shampoo and it’s not purple at all. Purple is opposite of yellow, so it balances and tones yellow, brassy tones from dyed or natural blonde hair. Blue, on the other hand, is opposite orange, and balances and tones orange brassy tones in darker hair or hair that has been bleached but still has orange brassy tones. If your hair is light or bleached blonde and has yellow brassy tones, using a blue yo er conditioner or shampoo will give it a GREENISH tone! Very upsetting! I cannot use this, I tried it once and it made my hair look greenish! The company may not know the difference, but if you need to neutralize yellowish brassy tones from light hair, don’t use this as it is NOT PURPLE! It’s BLUE!

I have blonde hair with silver and white streaks. I’ve been using a purple shampoo and thought I’d try a good purple conditioner. Well. I used it once and noticed no change ( brassy yellow in my white streak). Used it a second time (following the directions exactly), and yikes! Dry hair revealed still brassy yellow white streak and LILAC streaks at the sides (previously white). Now I totally understand those little lavender haired old ladies! I’ve washed x3 with “regular” shampoo and conditioner, and still purple. Hoping it resolves before my son’s wedding in 3 weeks.

I've been using this for about 3 weeks. I honestly haven't noticed the brassyness toning down, but my hair looks fabulous!! It's soft and full of body. I'm a bit disapointed about not helping the tone (which is why I'm giving a 4 instead of 5 star rating), but I'll continue to use this regardless.

My ends are always warm, as in I can start fires with the tip of my pony because DANG it’s HOT! One use and it cooled those ends right off! It’s a game changer. No staining, just calming tone. It works. As advertised and better. I’m going to always keep extra on hand. Thank you L’Oréal!
