I've used biosilk for years, still my fave but ran out and wanted to try this for the shine. Not only did it fail the shine test, by leaving my hair dull, but it made my hair stiffer. I have to wash it off just to comb it. It leaves a glue-like stiff feel to my hair. No shine. Such a waste of money. I got this at Target and want a refund, it's so bad. The smell is nice. That's the 1 star. Never again. I get more shine from biosilk or plain coconut oil. I will be doing a review on my YouTube channel; Mouthy Fox.I'd love to give L'Oreal another chance here. Do you have another shine gloss product I can try or exchange this bottle for?

Unfortunately, it also makes my hair get greasy/oily a lot faster. I find that I have to wash my hair daily rather than every other day or every third day like I normally would. I have very thick hair that goes past my shoulders and used as little as one pump, so I don’t think that it’s user error. I’ve tried it several different ways. I’ve used it on wet hair, dry hair, heat styled hair, and air dried hair. It smooths my hair nicely, regardless of which method I use, so as long as I don’t mind washing my hair a little bit more often, this makes my hair look really nice. This review is incentivized. I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.

After using it for a month (with 2 uses per week,) I can’t say I noticed a significant difference in my hair’s shininess. (I used it with the Elvive Conditioner and Shampoo.) Pros: the serum was my favorite product out of the three from this Glycolic and Gloss collection. I feel like if any one product out of the group was helping improve my hair’s dullness, it was the serum. Also, I think the serum, along with the conditioner, had some improvement on my split ends. Like with the shampoo and conditioner, the serum does have a strong perfume-y sent, but I found it more tolerable in the serum. There’s a sunburn warning on the bottle due to the AHA in the products. It suggests “limiting sun exposure while using this product.” Good to have the warning, but for me, in the summertime, it made me hesitant to use it on days where I knew I’d be outside a lot. Too much hassle from that perspective. In the winter though, I wouldn’t think twice. Overall, not a bad product, but not for me. I’ll finish the bottles, and see if there’s any improvement to my hair’s dullness, but I won’t repurchase.

I tried it on dry hair and damp hair prior to blowing it out. In my opinion it works much better on wet hair. I love the cute pink packaging, also the scent is incredible—I could smell it in my hair days after I used the serum. I would say my hair did not feel a big difference in shine or in smoothness from this product. I have very wavy and frizzy hair that can be hard to manage in the summer.

It has a fresh, floral scent that is nice. I would repurchase over a higher end brand. I think it is effective and a good value.

After using the shampoo, conditioner, and leave in treatment my hair felt very soft and smooth. I’m unsure if it made my hair more shiny though. Overall a good product!

I normally don’t like leave-in products because they weigh down my hair and make it feel like there’s a layer of grime on it, but this was different. My hair is super soft and less frizzy than normal after using this. It also smells amazing! The only thing I’d say is that it did weigh down my natural curls a bit, where normally I’d just air dry my hair and have nicer looking curls, but this isn’t necessarily targeted to my hair type so I can’t hold it against it too much for that.

It felt like a regular hair serum nothing special about it. But, after using it my hair became super frizzy, sadly, my hair still seems to be repairing from this line.

If you’re only going to try one product from the range—make it this one. First of all, it’s super lightweight. I was nervous it would make my hair greasy or heavy, especially since it’s a serum, but it absorbs instantly and feels almost like a mix between a gloss and a lightweight styling cream. I apply a pump or two to damp hair, mid-length to ends, and blow-dry—or even air-dry—and my hair just looks better. Smoother, shinier, and like I actually put effort into it (even when I didn’t). It really helps with frizz and gives that “glass hair” look without feeling coated or sticky. Plus, it layers well with other products—doesn’t cause buildup or dullness. The scent is light and clean, just like the rest of the line.
