THE Toner to Purchase -- Goodbye, Winter Dryness!!

I was having trouble with winter dryness around my nose and forehead, and a lot of really great moisturizers and exfoliaters (like Ponds, Alba, Olay, or Neutrogena's products) weren't even helping ....
So, I bought this on a whim at the drugstore, it's cleared up my minor forehead acne and completely cleared up the dryness like nothing else I've tried. Doesn't dry out your skin like a typical alcohol/astringent-based toner, smells really great to me, and keeps my skin supple, dewy, & revitalized.
You may still need to follow up with your established moisturizing routine if you have year-round dry skin, but for me and where I live (mid-East Coast), it's a winter issue that this product has cured and beyond. And it's only around $5!

WHY do companies constantly insist on ruining perfectly good products??? I bought the new version thinking it was just an updated look but NO it's not the same product in any way!! The ingredients are different, the feel is different, the performance is different. How rude and misleading to loyal customers, they kept the same name and changed everything about it. So sick of companies constantly doing things like this.

PERFECTION IN A BOTTLE

I’ve had a lot of people ask about my skin care routine & this is definitely in mine! I hope people understand that drinking water is the most important part of any skin care routine. L’Oreal Hydra Fresh toner, I will never go without again. The only negative that I’ve found on this product is the dispensing. I make a mess every single time I pour it out. I wish it came in a pump & had a a more aesthetically pleasing container. But I adore the product. It’s really top notch and my skin is so supple. I even put it on my hands, neck and my bosom area.

I think it’s a wonderful product, I’m not sure why there are bad reviews. For me it’s moisturizing does not dry me out, I like the smell a lot. Face feels so clean and soft and I even put it on my hands. Leaves if healthy and bright. It’s really true to L’Oreal says!! I remember using this product 10 plus years ago and it was great then, I don’t think they changed anything about it except for the packaging. You just have to be careful because a lot comes out but it’s no big deal. This is a great product and I will continue to repurchase!!!

I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed.

I’m now learning that I’m not alone in noticing that the toner that had been purchasing for years was suddenly different one day. I used to love it, but now I don’t like the way it feels or performs. The only good to come from that decision was that it pushed me to try a couple store brand versions, and I discovered that they didn’t change their formula, and it’s much closer to the old product.

I'm almost out of the HydraFresh Toner and was going to order more, until I read the reviews. I will try another brand. The information said "new bottle but same formula', which is obviously incorrect after reading the reviews. Hopefully, you will return to the original formula. You never mentioned the reason that the new formula was cheaper to make,

I had never tried the old formula but the new one is so good omg!!!! So at first it burnt when I put it on the first three days bc my skin was sensitive and damaged from over cleansing prior to using this toner. After three days of no harsh cleansing and using this toner with a gentle face wash my skin is clear and glowing. I use this toner by putting some in my hands and applying to my face bc it reminds me of a lotion toner. Lotion toners are better than using a cotton pad bc a cotton bad scrapes the skin and can dry it out. I learned the hard way after years of it. So..I basically apply a little in my palms and spread all over and add my moisturizer. It sinks it after a while and feels really good. I only use it at night. A little goes a long way, if you use too much it will feel bad, that’s normal bc all products feel bad if you add too much.

BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA!!

I'm with the majority of reviewers on here. My mom and I both have used HydraFresh for 2.5 decades now. It was one of the only toners that worked for my sensitive skin and the light scent didn't bother my nose or cause my migraines to flare up. The new formula is horrible. It's thick, oily feeling, leaves a sticky residue and doesn't dispense well. The scent is atrocious. Something reminiscent of jasmine but not a light nice smelling jasmine. A very strong perfume scent. It burnt my skin and I had to rinse it off. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and kept using it only for my skin to break out in dry patches. Which is crazy for a formula that claims to be non-drying. This formula is NOTHING like the old formula. In any way, shape or form. I've had to switch brands entirely and while what I'm using now works okay, it's not the same as the old formula HydraFresh. You would think with this many reviews, L'Oreal would think about bringing back the old formula. Definitely lost a loyal customer here and from reviews, I'm not the only one.

Fixing things that don't need fixing

I have used L'Oreal toner for decades. The new bottle is terrible - the toner squirts out all over the place. The toner is a new formula, alcohol free. It's ok, but I much prefer the old formula. Why not offer both? I will look for another brand.

HORRIBLE FORMULA CHANGE

The new formula is AWFUL! I loved the old formula, this is absolutely horrible. Its sticky and burned my face and I don't have sensitive skin. It smells horrible. And it's very misleading to put it in a pink bottle when the new formula is clear, thick, oily, and weirdly sticky.

Gentle and Refreshing

I've been a longtime fan of L'Oreal since the original HydraFresh line came out. As I have come to expect from this line of products, this toner is gentle, refreshing, and has a light, uplifting citrus-y scent. I have sensitive skin and do not do well with fancy, pricey skincare lines promising magical results, so I've learned to just use what I like, because there's a reason I like it, meaning it refreshes my skin and doesn't cause any irritation. Also affordable, accessible, and enjoyable to use. I would love to see an expansion of this line return to the lineup in the future.

Not the great original product!

I agree with most reviewers that this new toner formula is horrible! I bought the last 4 bottles of the original toner at the drug store after buying a bottle of the new one, not knowing that it had changed. It is oily, thick, and very smelly. It slightly burned my skin and I had to wash it off. The new bottle is misleading, as it looks like the same product with the same name and color.....but the bottle is pink, not the product! I don't understand why L'Oreal would change such a great toner!

It was recommended while shopping and I wish I checked online first. Worst toner ever. Skin felt absolutely dry and weirdly sticky. Consistency is a bit oily. Just don't buy.

Bummed about the new formula

I am also one of the many people who liked the old formula better. I found this product either the beginning of 2022 or late 2021 and was using it up until the new formula came out. I tried one with the new formula and I thought I had bought the wrong product, it was so different. The old one worked wonders on my sensitive skin, it was lightweight and gentle. This isn't the first time L'Oreal has discontinued one of my favorite products. I do believe it needed a packaging face lift but the formula was great. I'm bummed I have to find a new toner.

Never ceases to be amazing how companies decide to muck about with a great product and ruin it.
I used this toner for YEARS, my skin loved it. Rationed the last bottle, It wasn't too drying, didn't upset sensitive skin, lighly scented.
The new formula is slick and smelly and doesn't work.

I have used and loved this product for over 10 years. I recently had to buy a fresh bottle and was extremely disappointed. The product now literally stinks, as opposed to the light floral scent it had before) and leaves my skin dry. I am extremely sensitive to smells and I cannot take this new scent. And the product itself does not work as well as it once did. Please bring back to former product, which was fabulous. There was no need to change it. Please listen to your customers, who would still happily buy the original version.

I just tried the new hydra fresh toner. You’ve changed this product for the worse. It smells horrible instead of the soft rose scent it had. It’s so sticky and slimy I had to wash twice with soap and water to get it off, and I never use soap on my face. It doesn’t soak into a cotton pad it rolls off of it. I’m tired of companies that Change a product that was great the way it was. This makes me distrust and maybe it’s time to find another company. I rate this product zero.

Very disappointed with new formulated skin toner.

I was extremely disappointed with my last purchase -- new bottle but the toner itself is nothing like the original. Ingredients obviously aren't the same. My face felt sticky and gooey after using it. I will never ever purchase this product again and threw it down the drain. Please seriously consider remanufacturing the original facial toner if you want to retain loyal customers.

Obviously, you have changed the product but not indicated as such on the labeling.
The bottle is different. That's fine.
The scent, which acceptable, isn't the same. The original product had a beautiful feminine scent. The new one smells like pine needles, and I suspect it's an attempt to go unisex and attract males too?
As I read in other reviews, the product itself is quite different. It makes me think more of micellar water. I use toner AFTER my cleanser, not as a cleanser. I'm not sure what this thick, oily liquid is supposed to be or do.
PLEASE BRING BACK ORIGINAL HYDRAFRESH TONER that was sold in a rounded bottle. Please don't be afraid to market to feminine women who don't need all the changes! Thank you!

Still the best for my ultra sensitive skin

Apparently, L'Oreal is the only brand for my skin and hair type and this hydra-fresh toner has been my only "toner" since I was 15! Yes, the formula has obviously changed but it is still GREAT and unlike other respected reviewers I love the smell ... while it is certainly thicker, it is not "sticky" ..... I still love it. Just please .... the "bottle" thing is an absolute downgrade and not aesthetically even comparable to the previous one! Please bring it back

I want my old hydra fresh toner back!

I’ve used Hydra Fresh Toner for many years and recommended it all the women in my life!! The last time I bought a bottle, I thought that only the bottle had changed. I was wrong, and VERY disappointed. It feels thicker, almost slimy and smells like perfume. It rolls off my cotton pad, and my hands need rinsed after contact. My face feels sticky and tight after it dries. I really want my light, refreshing old formula back! I will not be recommending this product, or buying it again.

Just as many have said the New formula is too thick of a consistency, it ran off my cotton ball as well and it also leaves my face feeling sticky. The old formula left me a "fresh" feeling worthy of the name HydraFresh; this new version doesn't. I too as many have said have used this toner for years and also would recommend. I will finish the 2 bottles I bought with the hopes that the effect will be the same; time will tell. Please consider reverting back to original formula; thank you.

Like everyone in the recent reviews, I have used this toner for years and just thought the packaging had changed. The new formula is not a thing like the original. It is thick and runs off the cotton pad. It feels slimy and makes my face sticky. Please go back to the original toner formula.

Changed for the worse

This used to be a very good product, I have used it for years, but recently they changed it and I'll not be using it again. It is thicker, and has an odor that is not pleasant. Plus, the new packaging is worse, the lid broke off the first time I used it. Too bad, it was a really good product before.

I've been buying, using and recommending L'Oreal Face Toner for years! I always have 5-10 bottles ahead to ensure I don't run out and I give as beauty basket gifts as well. This new formula is very disappointing! I don't like the serum-like consistency nor do I like the fragrance. It doesn't leave my face feeling toned. It feels sticky. Please consider reverting back to the wonderful formula that worked so well! Thank you!

Never Again!!!

This has been my goto facial toner for more than a decade. Like so many, I thought that the packaging changed and the product stayed the same. No such luck! I will never buy this again!
It is completely different, and not in a good way. The consistency is thick. It rolls off the cotton ball instead of being absorbed. It goes on your face with almost a gel-like quality, not the fluidity of a liquid. The fragrance is strong, for a toner, and reminds me of men's cologne. I wash my hands after applying it because I feel it leaves a residue.
Please go back to the old formula. If not, time to find something new.

Updated Not Better

I have been using the prior version of Hydrafresh for several, several years and loved it. I do not like the new change to the Hydrafresh. It does not smell as good, and it feels slimy going on and does not exfoliate. I have been able to find the old ones until now, so I guess I will have to find something else unless L’Oréal reverts it back. Newer and updated does not equal better.

I have used the old version of this toner for as long as I can remember and loved it. It was gentle on my ultra-sensitive skin and felt great. This version is sticky, irritating and has a strong smell that stays. I have to agree with many reviewers and say bring back the old version!

Why did they change the formula?

I have been using Hydra Fresh Toner for years & even got my husband to use it to help control his oily skin. Well, I just bought the new redesigned bottle (which I'm okay with) but was surprised to find the product itself has been "redesigned" as well. It has a gel-like texture and an undesirable fragrance, whereas the previous formula felt and smelled fresh. Please admit your error and bring back the previous formula. Unlike this change, please make a media fanfare about the change back, because I will be searching for and using another product until then.
