Caused hair to fall out

I was so excited to buy this product ... BUT ... I have so many regrets! I normally have thick healthy hair. My hair was falling out after I started using it, but initially I thought it was natural fallout ... by the time I realised it was the 8 Second Wonder Water that was causing the problem it was too late. I stopped using it months ago ... and I find that my hair has never recovered and my hair is so much thinner now. I am very distressed about this!

Excellent for Smooth Hair Without Being Oily!

This is the BEST product if you want smooth hair without making it greasy/oily! All it takes is 8 seconds after you shampoo. Sometimes I use conditioner afterwards, but only for the scent. My hair doesn't need any additional conditioning after using the 8 Second Water Lamellar Treatment! I would expect this product to be much more expensive, so I'm extremely glad Loreal makes it affordable!

Severe chemical and allergic reactions.

This product gave me an awful allergic reaction and burned my neck as I was trying to rinse it out. It literally felt like I was being burned by a lighter. It should NOT be used by anyone other than a professional. Furthermore it did NOTHING for my hair except ruin my extensions. This product needs to be removed from the market. I can't imagine if a child was to accidentally get this on their skin.

Too much alcohol for me

It has way too much alcohol in it. My hair felt “stripped” and like steel wool until I got it rinsed out and got the conditioner on my hair. I won’t use it again for fear of permanently damaging my hair. My hair is very fine and can’t take much abuse. I don’t even use heat on it at all.

Comfortable right now

I used it for the first time today and it was an interesting experience. I want to preface this by saying I didn't wash my hair for about 2-3 days prior to this, so when I took my hair out of that ponytail I resembled Gollum so I'm not sure if it was the satisfaction of having clean, blowdried hair or if it was the product. After washing out the Wonder Water it did feel like a version of post-conditioning but I just ended up using my normal conditioner afterwards to "seal" it all in. Some heat protectant/blowdrying (which I don't do often) later I looked like I got a blowout (I think? I've never gotten one of those before). I think for the price (2 for $10 at CVS, plus an extra $3 off if you purchase 2 L'Oreal products) and the amount I used (way less then the 20 mL that's recommended, I don't have a thick lush mane of hair) I think it's a great way to get shinier hair! 4 out of 5 stars only because I can't tell right now if it's the white hairs (I got some serious salt n peppa going on) or if it's the product!

Why do the photos curliest hair appear to be reversed? On the website and the box, each of the before and after photos show that frizzier/curlier and shorter hair on the left side, except the last and most curly photo.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hairloss from Long term effect I first used this product about a 18 months ago, and thought it was great. It made my dry, unmanageable curls much smoother. I used it about once a week for the first six weeks or so, then about once every two weeks for another couple of months. The one thing that always troubled me was, why only 8 seconds? what happens if it is 15-20 seconds? I have shoulder length, layered hair. Even if putting on the ends of the hair, with layers it is difficult to keep it entirely away from the scalp. And after applying it, I would comb it through quickly then rinse as quickly as possible, but even so, sometimes it could have been as long as 15-20 seconds. Although I still loved the product, I was more concerned that I could not manage the treatment for as short a time as its name suggested. So I stopped. Soon after I became aware of having less hair. I thought perhaps I was shedding due to summer heat. It is now a year later, and my once thick hair is appalling disappearing. I now have no need to use a hairdryer; what strands are left cannot hide my scalp; the hair has receded about two inches from my temples; overall I would say have about a 1/3 of what I had a year ago. I have been to the doctor to see if it is health related, medicine related, vitamin deficiency, vitamin toxicity .. all negative. I feel it is this product that caused this ongoing loss of hair. How do I stop it? Is it reversable? Surely there must be a way to fix this. I have no proof that this product caused this problem, but personally, I am sure that it did. This product should have very strong instructions on the importance of Not Touching The Scalp in any way.. and Not to be used on shorter length or layered hair styles... And state up front, WHY only 8 Seconds.. It feels as light as water so it seems harmless... Appropriate warning on the label is imperative. And if I should find out that I am wrong, I promise to come back to this site and update accordingly.

This does not happen when I simply use conditioner (except for a few strands as is normal). The only thing this product would shine would be my bald head if I kept using it.

However! every time I applied it to my hair, even though I applied less than what is prescribed on the bottle, it made me cough horribly. I realized it had some type of effect on my respiratory system when I pulled it back, it was not as bad. Oddly, washing it again did not improve things. I just had to wait for it to fade off within 2-3 days. I used it 3 times total and realized the trend it was having with my lungs. I have no idea what this product has that made me react in such a way! I have never had an experience like this, but I do not recommend it. I'm also not a sensitive person or suffer from any allergies, so this was extremely alarming to my health!

It doesn’t leave my hair weighed down, but it’s also not still dry at the end. It’s a miracle, I don’t know what else to call it. My sister had thick hair that is almost curly, and she also swears by this product so don’t think because you don’t have fine hair it’s not for you!

Thought I'd get lucky with this because I have very long curly fine hair that tangles really bad. I read the ingredients and there's a lot of alcohol in it but I tried it anyway. Followed directions to a T and my hair never tangled up as bad as it did from this. Further reading on the package says that it's flammable. I'm tossing it out!

Been living with a messy bun ever since. Since my daughter tried it and her friends, told me, I couldn't wait! I bought it yesterday, an ran home to use it!!! Omg! It is wonderful!!!! For the first time in 10 months I saw my silky shiny long hair again! I almost cried! I had to do a blow out, but who cares it was completely straight! Slept on it and straight again this morning!!! I'm in love!!!

I cannot tell you the horrors I put my hair through within one week, I was seriously considering shaving it all off. I was looking for something, anything that would help my dry, crunchy and horrid looking hair. I saw the reviews for this water product, yeah, water (I thought), but decided to try it anyway. Oh my goodness, what A shock I was in for, my hair was amazing. It was soft, easy to comb and just unbelievable! My aunt had previously teased me about my crunchy hair, she could not believe the change when she saw me. She touched my hair and commented that a miracle had happened. I am very highly satisfied with the outcome. My hair was very dry and damaged. I feel like my hair is finally healthy again. I will be using this again until I am completely satisfied with how my hair feels. But I was very impressed which is the first time use. Thank you for making such a wonderful product for those of us that have dry damaged hair.

And I've been noticing since I've been using this my waves are starting to get looser and looser. Would I recommend it, yeah, if you have straighter hair. I will continue to use this here and there especially with winter coming up here.

But I will say that it has two drying alcohols in it so I know that this can definitely dry out your hair so just be careful and use a deep conditioner at least once a month. But it makes my hair super soft shiny and manageable. It isn’t curly girl approved because of the two drying alcohols So if you’re strict curly girl method then this isn’t for you. I like to break the rules if I like a product ,and the drying alcohols are the only bad things in it.. When I started curly girl method I stopped using this product but after a month I had to go back to it because nothing else worked for me it was well worth buying

Tangles, frizz, dryness. After blow drying my hair was not silky smooth and and it feels snarled and dry. Will never use it again.

Obviously I'm unable to work for a couple of months but was able to scrounge enough cash to purchase product. Very inexpensive. I'll be scrouing again to purchase another one. Awesome proudect!!!

Unfortunately however this product left her hair dried out brittle and knotted up into one giant knot that it has taken us four days and several other products to salvage she now has hair just over shoulder left and will not be using L'Oreal products in the future

Natural curly hair means it doesn't need to get damaged to appear.It will naturally be there without any Alcohol ,sodium or chloride to appear.Bow I have to fix it again Hopefully before summer I can have it healthy again.No thanks to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by P5rosie from Really long hair! I've been seeing this product for awhile & I finally bought it. I have really long hair, it falls to midway between my thigh and knee. I use a lot of conditioner because I get a lot of tangles. I read this could help with tangles. I used it according to the directions & noticed no difference in my hair(....but wait....). I braided my hair into 2 braids and as usual, just left if for a couple days. Here is the thing, I took my hair down, cleaned my scalp w some witch hazel (I do this between washings), then I began brushing(a use a tangle teezer brush) it out. I was surprised to have very little tangling, which is very unusual for me. I was like, "hmmm.... that's odd," but then I remember I'd used this product!! So, in closing, I definitely recommend this product.

I was blown away by the first use. I agree that the effects only last until the next wash & use. The strong smell improves over time after getting used to it. I e used both the regular and the dream lengths. I won’t go back to regular conditioners that leave a heavy, waxy feel. I was my tresses once a week and use 2 doses each wash for the length and thickness of my hair.

I have medium to thick hair with a slight natural wave. I highlight my hair, and am in early 50’s. I’ve tried a ton of conditioning treatments, serums, deep conditioning treatments, etc. This is so far the best I’ve tried. Give it a shot!

I am OBSESSED with this Wonder Water and want to use it weekly, but I have very long hair so I use a bottle in 3 uses. It is significantly better than any deep conditioner I have ever used. I wash my hair about 2 times a week so this will last me a long time. I dried my hair and flat ironed it. Total difference on how it looks and feels. I have past my shoulders length hair and it’s naturally grey and curly, wavy, frizzy when air dried. I’ve been wanting to try this for awhile and I’m glad I did.

I have fine, curly hair that never looked good but now it's wonderful! It seems my hair is thicker and I can blow dry it totally straight without adding 5 other products I used in past. Plus it lasts about 3 days before I have to wash it again which before I had to wash it everyday due to all the gel, spray and hairspray I used to use. It is WONDERFUL!

My hair is colored (if I have to be old, I sure don't have to look old!) and I have a lot of natural curl that tends to frizz in humid air. Wonder Water kept my hair smooth all day in 90° temps and high humidity! I'm a customer for life. I hope they never discontinue this.

I left my bleach on too long (don’t judge me; it was quarantine lol) and have been struggling to get my hair back to its former shiny, smooth glory. I saw this product on a buzzfeed list and bought it on an exasperated whim, more than half expecting to be disappointed. I gave it a try today and wow — I don’t think I’ve ever combed through tangles this easily since childhood! Try it. Seriously.
