If you have any vacations planned this winter, there’s a good chance one of them could be a ski trip. After all, it’s the perfect time of year to get out into the snow and hit the slopes! While you may have your wardrobe—fuzzy hat, cozy winter coat, and insulated snow boots—down pat, have you given any thought to what beauty products you should stow in your suitcase? Well, we’ve got you covered with a packing list, including skin-brightening face masks, hydrating moisturizers, colorful lipsticks, and refreshing shampoos.
These were the products used by the L’Oreal League influencers we brought to Aspen for a super-fun ski trip. On the trip, Carly Cristman, Jade Chapman, Liza, Jessi Malay, Stephanie, Lee, and Sona Gasparian didn’t just enjoy hitting the slopes—they also ate yummy S’mores, sipped champagne in the snow, and got relaxing facials. We hope that you get to enjoy just as many fun moments on your own winter ski trip!
Before you go, make sure you pack the following beauty products with you so that you’re prepped for the winter elements—and any picture-worthy moment.
The dry air of winter can leave you with dry skin. That’s why it’s important to make sure that you moisturize day and night. Look for a moisturizer that’s formulated for your skin type. The L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Normal/Oily Skin, L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Normal/Dry Skin, and L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Extra Dry Skin are all formulated with hyaluronic acid and aloe vera water to help provide long-lasting hydration. Use a gentle facial cleanser (like micellar water) first, then follow up with your moisturizer of choice.
It’s a common misconception that you only need to use broad-spectrum sunscreen in the summer—it’s a skin care must in the winter, too! And that’s especially the case when you’re on the slopes. To make your ski-time skin care routine a little bit easier, use a moisturizer with SPF, like the L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Bright Reveal Brightening Day Moisturizer SPF 30. Apply it as directed, and make sure you’re taking other sun protection measures as well. These include limiting your amount of time in the sun (especially between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., which are the sun’s peak hours), seek shade when you’re outside, and cover up exposed areas in long sleeves, pants, a broad-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses.
If you’re staying at a ski resort, why not give yourself a DIY facial as you kick back by the fireplace and drink hot cocoa? All you need is a face mask—or a few. Yep, you can multi-mask by applying different face masks to different areas of your face at the same time. Pick from the L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Detox & Brighten Face Mask, L’Oréal Paris Purify & Mattify Face Mask, L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Exfoliate & Refining Face Mask, L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Clear & Comfort Face Mask, and L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Clarify & Smooth Face Mask. Apply an even layer to clean, dry skin, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly and pat dry.
While you probably want to keep your makeup routine relatively simple while you’re on your ski trip, that doesn’t mean you have to forgo makeup altogether. One easy way to add a pop of color to your face is by swiping on a bold lipstick. The L’Oréal Paris Infallible Paints/Lip collection comes in a variety of gorgeous shades, including Lilac Lust, Fearless Fuschia, and DIY Red. Pair your vibrant lip with a touch of tinted moisturizer and a coat of mascara for a put-together look that lasts from slopes to apres-ski.
Using a hotel’s shampoo and conditioner isn’t always the best bet—which is why sometimes it makes the most sense to bring your own. Try the L’Oréal Paris EverFresh Antidandruff Shampoo and L’Oréal Paris EverFresh Balancing Conditioner. After washing with the shampoo, apply the conditioner and leave it on for 1-2 minutes before rinsing out.
Editor’s tip: While it might feel good, showering in hot water can strip your strands of essential oils, leaving your hair feeling dry. Turn down the temps and cleanse and condition in lukewarm water instead.
On those days when you don’t have time to hop in the shower and wash your hair, dry shampoo can be a total lifesaver. The L’Oréal Paris Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo for normal to oily hair absorbs oil at the root and extends freshness between shampoos. Shake the can well before use, then hold it 6-8 inches away from your hair and spray it directly onto oily roots and lightly throughout the rest of your hair to absorb oil. Just keep in mind that dry shampoo shouldn’t take the place of your regular hair-washing routine.
