Don’t like it
I just got this product. First, I had to use a wrench to open the cap. Made me wonder if something was wrong. Putting it on, my skin tingled for a short time. BUT, the product smells TERRIBLE! Literally, stinky! Is it old! I don’t know but the smell is off putting.

Best eye cream for dark circles and puffiness.9
Nothing worked for my dark circles and eye bags. After my first use I noticed an immediate improvement but it was vague so I overlooked it. After a week my puffy eyes and dark circles are almost gone. Unbelievable. And after spending $100’s on other eye creams. Love it!

Burning sensation
After about one week using this eye cream, my skin felt like it was burning. I have used other L’Oréal eye creams and I also use the daily tinted rosy glow cream for my face. But I will no longer use the eye cream.

Terrible
I got this to try and it burns when you put on and it also caused my eyes and around and eyelids to get red and swollen and itched so bad. Had horrible reaction to it. Had to go to eye doctor and he said throw that away! Had to get RX for the allergic reaction.

Had high hopes was let down
Welp I was happy to see this and make a purchase I own lots of L’Oréal products but this one had some reverse effects. Says reduces puffiness wilp this caused puffiness a lot of puffyness swelled my eyes right up oh did i mention my eyes burning out of my face .

Seriously Disappointed

Fabulous , amazing, perfect.

Why the heck are there sparkles in this stuff?
The sparkles/glitter in this product are really off-putting. It is not labelled as containing them, so I'm very frustrated to find that it does. Why would anyone want such a thing so close to the eye in a normal, non-makeup cream? To have glittery undereye circles? I certainly don't trust that they won't migrate into my eyes and cause irritation.
The cream does burn on initial application. I'm giving it the rest of the week to see if the sensation goes away, but I'm already not planning to rebuy this based on the glitter frustration.

I am very pleased with the results.
I have had dark circles all my life, it’s my problem area. This product works so well with my brown skin, I am amazed at how smooth it makes the skin around my eyes and my skin tone evens out quite nicely when I am using this product.

Does not work
I am very disappointed. I thought that I read that this product was for all skin color. Well, I am brown skinned and I have been using this product for about 2 weeks (twice a day) with no change. I still have the puffiness and dark circles around my eyes. The specific one that I am using is called Eye Defense and right above that is Dermo-Expertise. But on my box it states: reduced puffiness, lines & dark circles with caffeine. So is this product for people of color?

Subpar results
No change in skin have dark circles and fine lines, morning puffiness was hoping I would get some kind of improvement been 3 weeks using and no change. Even tried after a long night thought I would get some noticeable difference especially as swollen as my eyes were but got nothing. Gave it a few weeks hoping it just took some time but I using 4 weeks and feel like I waisted my money. Container is only half full so it's a little deceiving on amount of product as well.

The Perfect Eye Cream
This is the single best skincare product I’ve ever used. It does exactly what it says it will do. Please do not change this formula!! Please don’t add anything like retinol or hyl. acid! It’s perfect just the way it is.

This review might be a little different as I'm a daily user, plus I'm also a man for a change.
I was encouraged to try this product as previously I hadn't been using any eye cream and thought it would be an excellent addition to my daily skin regime. This is extra important as my age seems to keep going up every year?? Weird, I know!!
Anyway, I'm thoroughly enjoying using Eye-Defense, and it's definitely made the lines under my eyes significantly less noticeable.

I bought this product just two weeks ago and I have been seeing so much improvement! I’ve suffered from chronic dark circles for years now. This product is great as a part of my daily and nightly routine. It gives immediate effects for me! My eyes will be less puffy and dark after I rub it in and as the day goes on it seems to keep working! As a part of my nightly routine, it lets me wake up with less severe darkness around my eyes. I never realized how much my entire complexion could change, should I reduce the darkness. I recommend this product to anyone who isn’t looking to completely remove their dark circles. I believe that is what some women are hoping for from this product and that is just simply too much to hope for. I set my expectations low and was greatly surprised by how well this worked. Of course, nothing could probably remove my circles besides cosmetic surgery or professional treatment but for a cream I bought at the store it has worked so well. Thank you!

Didn’t work for me
I have delt with dark circles under my eyes for years. I bought this and it’s not a solution, for sure. I started using this Feb 1. It’s now 30 March. I see no difference. I’ve used morning and night, daily.

Didn’t notice much difference

Best eye cream ever
I've come back to this gel-based eye cream time and again and have been using it for many years. This is a lightweight hydrator so if you're looking for a miracle product for dark circles or deep wrinkles, look at the other products and don't blame this one because it's not made for that. This one is my favorite though because it doesn't have all those bells and whistles, just great hydration that is safe for my sensitive eyes. I can't say enough how perfect it is. It's cooling, soothing, hydrating, and gives my eye area a glow. I'm about to turn 48 and ppl don't believe I am over 40. Thanks L'Oreal!

My under eye area gets really dry and was making my underlies look wrinkly, so I bought this hoping it would help with that. But it made my under eyes dry, red, puffy, and showed the wrinkles more. Now, it burns to put anything on it and I am treating with something different to help calm the irritation.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago using it faithfully. I would look in the mirror to see if I see results with dark circles yes but it seems like it is drying out my under eyes and making wrinkles look more noticeable. I am really upset with this product thinking it would work or at least see an improvement instead of more noticeable wrinkles I had to put another cream on top it to make it look smooth

Ineffective on undereye puffiness
This product was purchased specifically to reduce undereye puffiness. After using the entire tiny jar, there was absolutely no improvement in my undereye puffiness, in fact, the moisturizing ingredient seemed to increase the puffiness. I called L'Oreal to report my experience & received only an "I'm sorry", no offer of a coupon to encourage purchase of additional L'Oreal products.

Works Well!
I've been using Eye Defense for a few years and like it better than the higher priced eye creams. This one is gel based so it goes on smooth and feels light and cool. You can "feel" the moisture hours later. Give it a try.

I love this cream! It's not greasy and very light on the skin. Sometimes I don't get enough sleep, so I use this in the morning and my eyes don't look tired or puffy! I think its the caffeine. Also, added plus, I'm dark skin and some eye cream tend to bleach the skin to get rid of dark circles, no this stuff! I've been using it for almost two years and I'm still the same beautiful brown faced girl, no spots! :)

The best eye helper
I have been using this product for over ten years. I have stopped using it before many times and have always gone back to it. Now it’s my go-to continuous use eye treatment. I truly does work. It changes and improves your skin instantly. I did a test on my skin. One side I used something else and on he other I used Eye Defense. After a couple hours I looked and the Eye Defense side looked so smooth and firm. I am 62 years old and I have no lines on my face. People never believe me when I tell them my age. Give it a chance to work and it will.

i was very skeptical about this product as there are so many like this one that claim the same thing. well i must have stood in the walmart aisle for at least 1/2 trying to decide on which product to pick (looked at ROC, OLAY, Nutrigena) but finally decided on this on. it wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive. at this point (i still have a lot left because a little goes a long way on the eyes) and i do honestly believe that it is making the darkness under my eyes slowly go away. i am glad i did try it and if the darkness is gone once the product is done, i will continue to buy. i have this tiny joy inside me that maybe, just maybe i will finally be rid of the darkness under my eyes. now, the bags are kinda a different story.......

This Works!
I'm in my 30s and i have noticed that my eyes just aren't...bright in the mornings anymore. I didn't feel like it was time for full-blown anti-wrinkle cream yet, but I saw this and after reading other reviews, decided to give it a try. This stuff is AMAZING! After only using it a week, my dark circles are diminished, but the very best thing is that ALL the puffiness is GONE from my under eyes. This stuff is great and totally worth it. I will buy this again, and would recommend it to a friend.

Great idea but not effective
I came across it and thought I would give it a try but as for me it hasn't been effective. I still have visible circles and sometimes puffy around the eyes occasionally and the minimal lines I had came more visible than clearing them. The only positive thing about this product is its light and glides on smooth on the delicate eye area. I won't be purchasing this product again.

Did nothing for me
I used this cream for about 2 months and I did not see any difference. My eyes are puffy in the morning. I have slight under eye darkness. I used this cream in the (2x a day) morning and night. I would not recommend this product.

Loreal Eye Defense
I use defense daily and enjoy the tightened skin feeling around my eyes. It works instantly making your eyes look very healthy awake young and no discoloration or bags even for an anemic person like me. The price is more than fair and so far this is the best product I've used for eyes. I'm sticking to it too. Very happy with results both instantly and over time. I hope L'Oreal never stops making this product. I am prone to really bad dry skin on my face and just generally have very sensitive skin. I decided to try using this product on the rest of my face, as well as around my eyes, and it is the only product I've come across that has helped my dry skin. I've never received compliments on my skin in the past, but since using this product, people compliment my skin and tell me that it's "glowing." This product is amazing.
L'Oreal, you should consider making this in larger sizes and marketing it as a skin/eye cream, as it works really well when used as either or both eye cream or skin cream. This would be convenient for those who do not want to buy skin and eye cream separately.

I bought this eye cream because I have started to get some crows feet around the eyes and I also have dark circles and puffiness. I love the feeling of the cream when I run it between my fingers, but as soon as I put it on it BURNS my skin around my eyes. I will not be getting this product again. :(

Why did this product change? I have used and loved Eye Defense for at least 10 years. I have sensitive skin and Eye Defense was perfect for me...until my last purchase. Besides looking different, when I applied it to my under eye area it immediately stung and my skin became red. I now have to find a new eye cream as the new Eye Defense is awful.

Loreal Eye Defense---the best!!
I have been using Loreal Eye Defense for years. It is the only product out there that actually does the job. My store was out of it and I tried some 90 second stuff and that was the biggest waste of $40.00. It made my eyes look worse. I hope that Loreal never stops making this product. Love it.

I don't know how this stuff handles wrinkles or fine lines cause I'm only 18, but I have dark circles and puffiness around my eyes, and even though it is genetic I, and other people, notice an improvement in just two days! I am hardly ever loyal enough to a cosmetic to buy it again since buy the time i have used up what i have there is something newer and possibly better, but I have both sensitive skin and sensitive eyes, and I have been using this for a week and so far so good.

Soothing Comfort for Eyes
I have used "Eye Defense" for over ten years now! It's still a favorite of mine. I always keep a small jar in the medicine cabinet even today. What I like about this product is the soothing comfort that diminishes puffiness and swelling around the eye, especially during allergy season. I trust this "light, rosie pink cream," and use it over the eyelid too. I have used this eye cream on my nephew for his allergies years ago when he was a small child. It's gentle, smells nice, very light.

I purchased this product to reduce the puffiness and dark circles under my eyes. It made things worse. My circles are darker and the puffiness did not lessen. Not sure if its because I am of latin decent or because i am i am in my 40's that it did not work for me.
