Why did this product change? I have used and loved Eye Defense for at least 10 years. I have sensitive skin and Eye Defense was perfect for me...until my last purchase. Besides looking different, when I applied it to my under eye area it immediately stung and my skin became red. I now have to find a new eye cream as the new Eye Defense is awful.

Dangerous - be careful or don't use it at all.

I've used EYE DEFENSE religiously for 30 years daily. My go-to fave. Well, not anymore. Be careful with this! Last month my eyes were going blurry and burning as the day progressed. I thought my sunscreen was migrating and causing this. No, when I finally removed this form my regimen, the vision loss and burning finally started to stop. I really didn't want it to be this, but sadly it is. Be very, very careful with this eye cream or don't even bother. Definitely need a refund and some restitution for the pain this caused.

This is the first eye cream that's actually made a difference! I've tried so many and this has definitely helped with my puffiness, darkness and just overall appearance. My concealer sits perfect on it too, I just wait a few minutes before applying it after the cream.

I just got this product. First, I had to use a wrench to open the cap. Made me wonder if something was wrong. Putting it on, my skin tingled for a short time. BUT, the product smells TERRIBLE! Literally, stinky! Is it old! I don’t know but the smell is off putting.

Nothing worked for my dark circles and eye bags. After my first use I noticed an immediate improvement but it was vague so I overlooked it. After a week my puffy eyes and dark circles are almost gone. Unbelievable. And after spending $100’s on other eye creams. Love it!

Burning sensation

After about one week using this eye cream, my skin felt like it was burning. I have used other L’Oréal eye creams and I also use the daily tinted rosy glow cream for my face. But I will no longer use the eye cream.

I got this to try and it burns when you put on and it also caused my eyes and around and eyelids to get red and swollen and itched so bad. Had horrible reaction to it. Had to go to eye doctor and he said throw that away! Had to get RX for the allergic reaction.

Why the heck are there sparkles in this stuff?

The sparkles/glitter in this product are really off-putting. It is not labelled as containing them, so I'm very frustrated to find that it does. Why would anyone want such a thing so close to the eye in a normal, non-makeup cream? To have glittery undereye circles? I certainly don't trust that they won't migrate into my eyes and cause irritation.
The cream does burn on initial application. I'm giving it the rest of the week to see if the sensation goes away, but I'm already not planning to rebuy this based on the glitter frustration.

I am very disappointed. I thought that I read that this product was for all skin color. Well, I am brown skinned and I have been using this product for about 2 weeks (twice a day) with no change. I still have the puffiness and dark circles around my eyes. The specific one that I am using is called Eye Defense and right above that is Dermo-Expertise. But on my box it states: reduced puffiness, lines & dark circles with caffeine. So is this product for people of color?

Subpar results

No change in skin have dark circles and fine lines, morning puffiness was hoping I would get some kind of improvement been 3 weeks using and no change. Even tried after a long night thought I would get some noticeable difference especially as swollen as my eyes were but got nothing. Gave it a few weeks hoping it just took some time but I using 4 weeks and feel like I waisted my money. Container is only half full so it's a little deceiving on amount of product as well.

I was encouraged to try this product as previously I hadn't been using any eye cream and thought it would be an excellent addition to my daily skin regime. This is extra important as my age seems to keep going up every year?? Weird, I know!!

I bought this product just two weeks ago and I have been seeing so much improvement! I’ve suffered from chronic dark circles for years now. This product is great as a part of my daily and nightly routine. It gives immediate effects for me! My eyes will be less puffy and dark after I rub it in and as the day goes on it seems to keep working! As a part of my nightly routine, it lets me wake up with less severe darkness around my eyes. I never realized how much my entire complexion could change, should I reduce the darkness. I recommend this product to anyone who isn’t looking to completely remove their dark circles. I believe that is what some women are hoping for from this product and that is just simply too much to hope for. I set my expectations low and was greatly surprised by how well this worked. Of course, nothing could probably remove my circles besides cosmetic surgery or professional treatment but for a cream I bought at the store it has worked so well. Thank you!

I've come back to this gel-based eye cream time and again and have been using it for many years. This is a lightweight hydrator so if you're looking for a miracle product for dark circles or deep wrinkles, look at the other products and don't blame this one because it's not made for that. This one is my favorite though because it doesn't have all those bells and whistles, just great hydration that is safe for my sensitive eyes. I can't say enough how perfect it is. It's cooling, soothing, hydrating, and gives my eye area a glow. I'm about to turn 48 and ppl don't believe I am over 40. Thanks L'Oreal!

My under eye area gets really dry and was making my underlies look wrinkly, so I bought this hoping it would help with that. But it made my under eyes dry, red, puffy, and showed the wrinkles more. Now, it burns to put anything on it and I am treating with something different to help calm the irritation.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago using it faithfully. I would look in the mirror to see if I see results with dark circles yes but it seems like it is drying out my under eyes and making wrinkles look more noticeable. I am really upset with this product thinking it would work or at least see an improvement instead of more noticeable wrinkles I had to put another cream on top it to make it look smooth

Ineffective on undereye puffiness

This product was purchased specifically to reduce undereye puffiness. After using the entire tiny jar, there was absolutely no improvement in my undereye puffiness, in fact, the moisturizing ingredient seemed to increase the puffiness. I called L'Oreal to report my experience & received only an "I'm sorry", no offer of a coupon to encourage purchase of additional L'Oreal products.

Disappointing

Specifically I purchased this for its claim to reduce eye puffiness. No result after using for 3 weeks. This product did not do anything for my puffy eyes. Wasted money.

I've been using Eye Defense for a few years and like it better than the higher priced eye creams. This one is gel based so it goes on smooth and feels light and cool. You can "feel" the moisture hours later. Give it a try.
