Hyaluronic Acid Serum Under Eye Area

skin care essentials 3 Ways The New Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid Serum Improves Your Under-Eye Area

Once you try it, you’ll be hooked.

Hyaluronic acid is a buzzy skin care ingredient revered for its hydrating benefits. Chances are, you already own products containing it in your skin care routine, like moisturizers and serums. But did you know that hyaluronic acid can be extremely effective for addressing concerns in the under-eye area? We spoke with Madison Godesky, Ph.D., Senior Scientist, Scientific Affairs at L’Oréal Paris to learn about how the new L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives with 1.5 Percent Hyaluronic Acid, 1 Percent Caffeine Eye Serum formulated specifically for the under-eyes helps to improve dark circles, dryness and fine lines and wrinkles in the area, and we’re sharing it, below.

1. It Works To Replump Fine Lines And Wrinkles

The first signs of aging often appear as fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. “The skin in this zone is much thinner than the rest of the face,” says Godesky. “There are fewer layers, which makes the [under-eye area] delicate and can make it more prone to dehydration and early signs of aging.”

Because of this, finding products that are gentle in this delicate area while also effectively providing hydration and addressing these concerns is essential. “This serum is beneficial for the under eye area because it delivers intense hydration which helps to visibly replump your lines and wrinkles,” she explains. The high concentration of active ingredients, fragrance-free formula, and fast-absorbing, fluid texture make it the perfect fit for the area.

2. It Targets The Root Causes Of Dark Circles

If you have dark circles under your eyes, you might attribute them to a lack of sleep or other lifestyle factors, but the truth is that the root cause of dark circles is likely one of three things, Godesky explains.

“There is a vascular type of dark circle where blood can pool,'' she says. “There’s a pigmentation and skin tone type of dark circle, and there is also a structural type which is more difficult to target with a cosmetic product.” This under-eye serum is formulated with four percent niacinamide which works to improve hyperpigmentation一which can result in darkness under the eyes一in addition to addressing fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, the caffeine in the formula is excellent for reducing puffiness that can occur as a result of vascular dark circles.

3. It Contains A Specially Designed Applicator

You probably apply your facial serums by putting a few drops into your hands and patting the formula into your skin. But when it comes to applying this serum, using the specially designed applicator is key to addressing puffiness under the eyes. Godesky explains that the applicator “was specially designed for the eye contour to help massage and work in the product to smooth out dark circles that are more of the vascular type.”

By gently rolling the cooling, triple roller applicator under the eyes to distribute the formula, you’re also working to massage the area and disperse the buildup of blood that can pool there and create vascular dark circles.
