Radhika Shah

Radhika Shah Honoree Profile

Radhika Shah is the founder of Real Autism Difference (RAD), a non-profit organization making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families with autism by providing access to education, care, activities and medical resources necessary to lead a happy, fulfilled life.

Shah’s brother Amar was diagnosed with severe autism at a young age. Just one and half years apart in age, the two siblings grew up extremely close, with Shah spending a significant amount of time volunteering in her brother’s special education classroom during middle school. There, as she noticed a severe lack of resources for her brother and his peers, the idea to start RAD was first born.

After speaking with dozens of community partners in Las Vegas, Shah launched the initiative which has since raised more than $250,000 to provide after-school, weekend and summer care programs for those affected by autism.

In addition to leading RAD, Shah is also an avid public speaker who spreads autism awareness and has been featured by TEDx, Volunteers of Medicine Southern NV, and Clark County School District special education forums along with local TV and radio stations.

Shah is currently an undergraduate student at Stanford University pursuing a B.S. in Human Biology and serves as a Youth Commissioner on the Nevada Volunteers Board. She plans to practice neurology as a future career in addition to continuing her philanthropic efforts.
