LIGHTS ON WOMEN AWARD, L’ORÉAL PARIS INITIATIVE FOR RISING FEMALE SHORT FILM DIRECTORS
The L'Oréal Paris’ Lights on Women Award was launched in 2021 to recognize and promote the talent of women short film directors, who make up only 17%* of top-grossing film directorial positions and 25%* of key behind-the-scenes roles. The winning short film, chosen from the Short Film Competition and la Cinef selection at Cannes, receives a financial support and industry recognition. In 2024, Kate Winslet, L’Oréal Paris ambassador and Lights on women Juror for the first three sessions, will pass the baton to Viola Davis, the acclaimed American actress and producer.
