Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a macromolecule that occurs naturally in the skin and is the main moisturizing agent in the epidermis (outer layer of the skin). Biotechnology allows the obtaining of smaller hyaluronic acid molecules of lower molecular weight that are able to penetrate the epidermis to restore moisture and substance to the skin.
