Baicalin, Skullcap Benefits:
Anti-Aging
Antioxidant

Also known as “skullcap” (Chinese skullcap) in the United States, baicalin is obtained from the roots of Scutelleria baicalensis. This medicinal herb contains concentrations of flavonoids that provide antioxidant properties. Consequently, skullcap extract helps to neutralize free-radicals present in the environment, which can lead to lower levels of oxidative stress in the skin.

In skincare, baicalin benefits equip personal care products with antioxidant protection. Formulas with baicalin may even inadvertently promote anti-aging effects, thus contributing to the skin’s overall quality and appearance. 1
