Sally Berenzweig channeled her education and background in counseling to co-found KidSafe Foundation Inc., an organization based upon the core belief that every child deserves the right to be safe, have a voice and know how to access help. KidSafe features an eight-lesson curriculum for children ages 4 to 11, as well as an educational component for adults that teaches them how to recognize, respond and report child abuse. With child abuse remaining as one of the leading health concerns facing children today, KidSafe fills a crucial need for sexual abuse prevention education delivered by credentialed mental health professionals, educators and child safety experts. For the past 10 years, Sally and her team reached more than 60,000 children; trained over 30,000 parents, educators and child serving professionals; and distributed more than 20,000 copies of children’s safety books to impoverished communities each year. Sally was awarded the Jefferson Award for Public Service in 2012 and the Advocacy Award for Protecting Children in 2018. She continually dedicates herself to breaking the cycle of sexual abuse, by holding children’s safety to be of paramount importance.
