Jasmine Oil Skin Benefits:
Antioxidant
Fragrance

Jasmine oil is a colorless fragrant essential oil that is made from pressing the flowers of Jasminum officinale or better known as jasmine.  The extraction of the oil from the flowers is known as a process called “enfleurage” and it involves the use of either odorless animal or vegetable fats to capture the fragrant compounds. 1

Due to its desirable smell, it is commonly used in cosmetics as a perfuming agent.  However, recent studies show jasmine oil benefits may also include antioxidant properties due to its phenol constituents- benzyl benzoate and benzyl acetate. This protective ability allows jasmine oil to help neutralize free-radicals present in the environment. 2 By reducing overall levels of oxidative stress, the use of jasmine oil for skin can include maintaining surface level quality and appearance.
