Argan Oil Skin Benefits:
Anti-Aging
Antioxidant
Moisturizing

A perennial Moroccan topical remedy, argan oil has been well established for skin and hair hydration. In skincare, cosmetic argan oil is prepared by solvent-extraction. It contains high levels of sterols, polyphenols, and fatty acids, which enable the benefits of argan oil on skin to include antioxidant, anti-aging, and moisturizing properties. 1

The use of argan oil for skin care purposes can provide high concentration of tocopherols (Vitamin E) that allow for strong antioxidant protection. This helps to neutralize harmful free-radicals present in the environment and reduce levels of oxidative stress found in the skin. As a result, argan oil may play a role in deterring signs of photo-aging (i.e., fine lines and wrinkles.) Furthermore, while argan oil alone can induce an anti-aging effect, skincare formulas often couple argan oil with additional anti-aging ingredients to facilitate stronger results. 1 Argan oil skin care products most commonly include toners, exfoliators, lotions, and creams (i.e. argan oil face moisturizer). With all of its benefits combined, topical application of argan oil can thereby enhance the skin’s overall quality and appearance. 2
