"Women of Worth empowers us to Build Futures of homeless youth by taking the increasing number off the streets to safe housing and self-sufficiency. "
– Kathy Tillotson, founder of Build Futures

About Kathy Tillotson

When Kathy and her husband retired and moved to Orange County, California, she identified a large gap in services and housing options for homeless youth. She founded Build Futures, an organization that gets homeless kids off the streets immediately to safe, permanent housing and helps them become self-sufficient—within 60 to 90 days—providing mentoring, and the services, resources and support needed to obtain and maintain employment, addressing issues like depression, substance abuse or reckless spending. Of those who cooperate with her interventions, Kathy estimates 75 percent have gotten jobs and become financially self-sufficient.
