Open your eyes to Bambi Eye Mascara. L’Oréal Paris’ latest Mascara innovation Bambi Eye Mascara delivers an instant eye-opening result that curls and volumizes eyelashes. It’s wide-eyed brush fits eye shape to coat each lash from inner to outer corner, while the mix of short and long bristles separate each lash to remove clumps. Lifted, curled lashes and plenty of definition for a wide, open-eyed effect are just a few swipes away with Bambi Eye Mascara.
Hyaluronic Acid, also referred to in skin care as hyaluronate or HA, is a naturally occurring polysaccharide that is found throughout the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is glorified for its ability to enhance moisture-retention and skin-hydration. This is due to Hyaluronic Acid’s ability to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. For this reason, products with Hyaluronic Acid (i.e. Hyaluronic Acid lotion, Hyaluronic Acid cream, Hyaluronic Acid liquid care, Hyaluronic Acid serum) may serve as effective skin-soothing therapeutics for skin dryness. As we age, our levels of Hyaluronic Acid decline, thus making our skin more susceptible to aging signs (i.e., fine lines and wrinkles). Topical application of Hyaluronic Acid has been shown to help decrease water loss from the skin’s surface as well as draw in moisture from the surrounding environment. By significantly increasing the water content in the stratum corneum (top surface layer of the skin), various skin factors, such as barrier function and texture, can be improved. This may also enable Hyaluronic Acid skin care products to play a role in improving skin-elasticity. Hyaluronic Acid can most commonly be found in moisturizing skincare products such as lotions, creams, and serums.
Typically a serum formulation is a skincare product that has thinner viscosity and contains a higher concentration of an active ingredient, therefore ensuring maximum efficacy. Since Hyaluronic Acid molecules are big, they sit on the surface of the skin. This ensures immediate hydration. However, it is important to also utilize low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid molecules that can go into the surface layer of the skin and plump from within and reducing wrinkles. The percentage of Hyaluronic Acid is also important. An optimal concentration ranges from 1-2% for skin absorbance without compromising the sensoriality of the formula. The L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives Hyaluronic Acid Serum has a 1.5% pure Hyaluronic Acid concentration: 1% of the low molecular weight and 0.5% of the high molecular weight.
Formulas with Hyaluronic Acid can replenish moisture immediately. In addition, the Revitalift Derm Intensives Serum plumps the skin in just 1 week and visibly reduces wrinkles for smooth youthful looking skin.
Vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid, the pure form of Vitamin C) is a natural antioxidant. Most animals make Vitamin C but humans have lost this ability. Therefore, humans typically get Vitamin C from diet and/or vitamin supplements. In the skin, Vitamin C is the predominant antioxidant, where the majority of the Vitamin C is concentrated in the epidermis (outermost layer of the skin). Since the epidermis composes the outermost 10% of the skin and acts as the initial barrier to oxidant assault, it makes sense that it contains the highest levels of antioxidants of the skin (such as Vitamin C and E).
Antioxidants are molecules that neutralize/fight damaging free radicals caused by environmental aggressors (such as sun and pollution).
When applied to the skin in a skincare formula, Vitamin C has been shown to display antioxidant and photo-protective properties.
