Stress, the weather and yes, even your age can affect the look of your skin. Tired, stressed and aging skin can all experience a look of dullness. No matter the culprit, dull, tired looking skin can put a damper on an otherwise beautiful appearance. Revive your skin and renew its natural radiance by following these radiant skin tips every day for one week. You may be so pleased by the results that you will want to incorporate these skin tips into your regular routine.
Radiant skin tip #1: Drink water. Sipping a glass of water at lunch and swallowing a gulp with your vitamins won’t cover it. To truly achieve a radiant skin look, you should aim to drink plenty of water each day. This may sound easier than it actually is – you can pack a bottle and bring it with you to work, but it doesn’t mean it’ll make it out of your bag. To put forth your best effort try starting and ending your day with a glass of water; like two book ends. Than create book marks that you can hit throughout your day, one could be to drink a glass of water during your commute, another could be to choose water over soda at lunch and on your way to the coffee machine, bring a glass of water back with you.
Radiant skin tip #2: Find the best exfoliating option for you. One contributing factor to skin dullness is the pile up of dead skin cells on the outer layer of the skin. New skin cells are produced about every month – but this frequency will slow down as you age. These cells travel from the inner layers of your skin up to its surface. Once they reach the surface the skin cells die. If these skin cells aren’t removed, they can clog pores and prevent hydrating ingredients from your skin care products from penetrating deep enough to work effectively. If your skin is not receiving the hydration it needs, it can look dull, dry and tired. One way to slough away these dead skin cells is to exfoliate. You can either choose a mechanical or chemical exfoliant depending upon your skin type. How often you exfoliate should also depend on your skin type at the given moment – check with your dermatologist for their recommendation.
Radiant skin tip #3: Hydrate with hyaluronic acid. Your skin may look dull or less radiant because it is lacking hydration. You can experience dryness for many reasons and determining what’s causing it will help you figure out how best to replenish that lost moisture. One extremely hydrating ingredient found in skin care moisturizers and serums is hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that maintains moisture. Moisturizers like RevitaLift® Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer formulated with hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates skin and helps it hold on to that moisture throughout your day so dull skin looks more radiant and nourished.
Radiant skin tip #4: Try facial oil. A great way to revive dull skin is to seal in moisture and the hydrating ingredients from your creams and serums with facial oil. Facial oil acts as a barrier when applied after your serum and moisturizer to keep the good stuff in and the damaging elements – like air pollution – out. Lightweight formulas, like Age Perfect® Hydra-Nutrition Facial Oil SPF 30, will nourish dull skin and not leave skin feeling greasy – bonus: this facial oil offers broad-spectrum protection.
Radiant skin tip #5: Break a sweat. Get a little natural glow going with a 30-minute workout each day. Exercising encourages blood circulation and sweating will help rid your skin of collected toxins. Try jumping rope, going for a jog or partaking in a yoga session. After a week, you’ll hopefully see an improvement in your dull skin – and maybe your body too.
Radiant skin tip #6: Turn in early. Your dull skin needs to regroup and recover from the day, just as your mind and body does. Try going to bed 15 minutes earlier each night for one week. Tired skin tends to look dull, to add an extra boost to your beauty sleep, try an overnight mask like RevitaLift® Triple Power™ Intensive Overnight Mask or a treatment so that you can wake up with more radiant looking skin.
When you feel better you can look better too – and this one week to radiant skin may not only leave you glowing, but hopefully feeling more rested and better taken care of as well. Dedicate a week to pep up your tired, dull skin and consider keeping up with these skin tips for a long lasting radiant appearance.
