Dry skin can cause your complexion to appear dull, your makeup application to look patchy and it can feel tight and uncomfortable. You may think that a heavy cream is your best defense against dry skin, but often when it comes to truly hydrating skin, it takes a little more than one moisturizer alone. Luckily, there is more than one way to moisturize dry skin, and utilizing these methods can help give your regular moisturizing efforts a boost.
Dry skin care moisturizing method #1: Use a serum and a moisturizer. Perhaps, you always apply your moisturizer after cleansing, but your skin is still experiencing dryness. If this is the case, give your regular skin moisturizer a boost by first applying a hydrating serum to your skin while it is still damp. Then, follow up by applying your day or nighttime moisturizer. Serums tend to be lightweight and have a higher concentration of ingredients when compared to your moisturizer, so when combined, the formulas can better hydrate dryness. Try a complimentary duo like RevitaLift® Triple PowerTM Concentrated Serum and RevitaLift® Triple PowerTM Deep-Acting Moisturizer, which are both formulated with hyaluronic acid.
Dry skin care moisturizing method #2: Seal in added moisture with facial oil. Moisture can evaporate off of your skin’s surface if not fully absorbed, so it is important to lock in any added moisture once it has been applied to dry skin. After you’ve applied your serum and cream, consider applying facial oil too. Facial oil can act as a barrier on the surface of your skin to keep added hydration in.
Dry skin care moisturizing method #3: Look for beauty products formulated with vitamin E.Some foundations, concealers and self tanners are formulated with skin nourishing ingredients like vitamin E. Give your dry skin a boost of radiance by applying a self tanner like Sublime Bronze™ Summer Express Wash-Off Face Bronzer Cream SPF 20 , which is formulated with vitamin E to help provide 24-hour hydration, until you are ready to wash your temporary glow away.
Dry skin care moisturizing method #4: Cleanse skin with nourishing formulas. If you have dry skin, cleansing with a foaming or gel-based cleanser can strip your skin of its natural oils and contribute to dryness. Washing your face in general can also be drying, so look for cleansing formulas that will nourish and cleanse at the same time, like RevitaLift® Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser. You could also try an alternative skin hydrating option like micellar water to clean your skin, these formulas can hydrate and cleanse skin at the same time.
Dry skin care moisturizing method #5: Apply an overnight hydrating mask. Replenish dry skin and treat it to a hydrating mask while you sleep. Applying an overnight mask like RevitaLift® Triple Power™ Intensive Overnight Mask can help moisturize dry skin with a concentrated surge of hydration while your skin’s defenses are down.
Try one or all of these skin care moisturizing methods to hydrate dryness. Sometimes, all it takes to hydrate dry skin is a little concentrated effort and the right moisturizing skin care products.
