We’ve had our share of beauty debates, and this lineup is one you’ve probably questioned yourself: Are showers better than baths? The bath vs. shower battle certainly isn’t new to the scene of hygiene and skin care, but it’s one that needs to be resolved once and for all. Rather than turning to Google for your answers, allow us to share the truth about whether you should take showers or baths.
Drum roll, please! The fact of the matter is, one cleansing method isn’t definitively better than the other. Yes, you read that right! The bath vs. shower debate doesn’t quite live up to the hype it’s received. In fact, it all comes down to personal preference and the goal of your cleansing ritual. There are certain times taking a shower may be more convenient, and others a bath may be the better move. Yes—that’s all it comes down to. While both options get the job done, allow us to share a few times you may want to consider taking a shower over a bath and vice versa.
Calling team shower! Here are four times you may find a shower to be the best option for getting squeaky clean.
Take a shower if…you need to shave your legs. You may be thinking, “Isn’t it easier to shave your legs while sitting down?” We’d beg to differ. Shaving your legs in the shower allows you to prop your leg up and get a better angle for a precise, clean shave with less of a chance of accidental nicks. Not to mention, the hair you removed will be washed off and down the drain as you shave, making it easier to see any spots you may have missed.
Take a shower if…you’re short on time. Let’s be real—it’s much easier to hop in the shower than wait for the tub to fill up when you’re in a rush. If you’re dealing with a time crunch, a shower is likely the right pick.
Take a shower if…you like to wash your face. Want to multitask by cleansing all over? If you like to wash your face while you wash the rest of your body, we’d recommend doing so in the shower rather than the bath. This way, you can conveniently let the water wash the cleanser off your complexion before moving onto the next step in your regimen.
Take a shower if…you want to make your routine more sustainable. Yes, you can make your beauty routine more sustainable, and taking a shower can help with that. Showers conserve more water than baths, as there’s no need to fill an entire tub with water. If you’re looking for small changes you can make in your beauty routine that the planet will thank you for, this is one!
Team bath? We understand. Here are four times we’d opt for a bath over a shower.
Take a bath if…you like to multitask. For the most part, baths are much easier when it comes to cleansing and multitasking. You can apply a face or hair mask, paint your nails, or read a book while you soak!
Take a bath if…you want to indulge in self-care. If you want to take the time to pamper yourself, a bath is a great option for indulging in a self-care session. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice bubble bath!
Take a bath if…you’ve had a long day. Speaking of self-care, sometimes the best remedy for a long day is to take a long, warm bath. Wash your stress and worries away!
Take a bath if…you have a new bath bomb you want to use. Of course, if you want to try out a new bath bomb, you know what to do. Whether you’re a fan of colorful spirals or indulgent scents, a bath is a must for putting your favorite bath bombs to work!
