With tons of festivities to partake in on St. Patrick’s Day, it’s no wonder you want to celebrate the shamrock-heavy holiday. And what better day to experiment with green eye makeup and lip makeup than St. Paddy’s Day? Green makeup is also a big beauty trend right now, so your St. Patrick’s Day makeup provides the perfect opportunity to try it for yourself. Of course, we understand if you’re a little intimidated when it comes to rocking this color—it can be quite bold, after all. But trust us: You can pull it off! Without further ado, allow us to introduce you to five of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day-inspired makeup looks. Bonus: We’ll also share a green hair color look that will make your festive ensemble extra lucky!

1. ALL-OVER GREEN LIDS

Putting a St. Patrick’s Day makeup look together doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it can be as simple as sporting all-over green lids. Here’s how!

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Micro Ink Pen by Brow Stylist, Up to 48HR Wear

Eye shadow primer

Light green shimmer eyeshadow

Dark green shimmer eyeshadow

L’Oréal Paris Unlimited Lash Lifting and Lengthening Washable Mascara

Get the look by following these simple steps:

STEP 1: PERFECT YOUR RBOWS

We're sure you’re itching to get to your green eyeshadow, but let’s focus on your brows first. With a look this bold and colorful, it’s important to give your eyebrows the attention they deserve! Use a brow pen to fill in sparse areas and perfect your brow shape.

STEP 2: PRIME YOUR EYES

Start by smoothing on an eye shadow primer to prep your lids for the rest of your eye makeup.

STEP 3: COLOR YOUR LIDS

Using a flat eyeshadow brush, pack your light green shimmer shade all over your lids.

STEP 4: DEFINE YOUR CREASE

Next, take a fluffy crease brush and apply the dark green shimmer eyeshadow to the outer “V” of your crease, making sure to blend well.

STEP 5: COAT YOUR LASHES

Since your eyeshadow is bold on its own, keep the rest of your look simple by applying a few coats of volumizing mascara.

2. EMERALD + GOLD SMOKY EYE

We’re suckers for a smoky eye—and any chance we get to bring new colors into the picture, we’re game. Want to wear green and gold eye makeup like nobody’s business? Here’s how to do it.

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris Unbelievabrow Longwear Waterproof Brow Gel

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Full Wear Concealer Waterproof, Full Coverage

Eye shadow primer

L’Oréal Paris Brilliant Eyes Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow Makeup in Crown Gold

L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Golden Emerald

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof, Up to 24HR Pencil Eyeliner in Black

L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Washable Mascara, Lasting Volume

Get the look by following these simple steps:

STEP 1: FILL IN YOUR BROWS

Before diving directly into your green and gold eye makeup look, start off by framing your soon-to-be glam stare. First, fill in your brows, then dab on a tiny bit of concealer to help accentuate your brow shape and hide any imperfections.

STEP 2: USE AN EYE SHADOW PRIMER

Apply an eye shadow primer on your lids to help ensure that your smoky eye will go on smoothly and wear evenly.

STEP 3: START YOUR SMOKY EYE

Gently brush gold eye shadow onto your lid, starting from your inner corners and working your way to the middle.

STEP 4: BLEND FROM THE OUTSIDE CORNER IN

Next, use green eye shadow to trace the outside of your eye, blending it up past your crease for the appearance of a slightly elongated eye. Be sure to blend the green and gold where they meet to create a natural-looking fade rather than a harsh line of demarcation.

STEP 5: ADD COLOR UNDER YOUR EYES

Using a small, tapered eyeshadow brush, apply a bit more of the green eye shadow to your lower lash line to fully tie your bold eye together.

STEP 6: CREATE A WING

Now that you have a super dramatic eye shadow look, don’t stop there! To add extra definition to your eyes, outline your upper lash line with pencil eyeliner. Be sure to flick your line up at the end to create a gentle lift that can make your eyes appear more open.

STEP 7: TOP YOUR LOOK OFF WITH VOLUMIZING MASCARA

Apply a coat or two of mascara. Voila!

3. GREEN LIPSTICK

There’s no denying it: Green lips have been making a bold statement across runways. Sure, lining your lips with green might seem a tad intimidating, but why not take a risk?

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris Pure-Sugar Nourish & Soften Cocoa Scrub

Lip balm

Clear lip liner

Green lipstick

Get the look by following these simple steps:

STEP 1: EXFOLIATE YOUR LIPS

Do you want a patchy green lip look? We didn’t think so! Start things off right by sloughing dead skin cells off your lips using a lip scrub (or a face scrub that doubles as a lip scrub). This will help prep your pout for smooth lipstick application. Use a small amount and scrub gently in circular motions, then wipe off with a damp washcloth.

STEP 2: SWIPE ON A LIP BALM

After scrubbing your pout, apply a hydrating lip balm.

STEP 3: LINE YOUR LIPS WITH A CLEAR LIP LINER

Lining around the perimeter of your lips with a clear wax lip liner can help prevent your color from bleeding outside the lines.

STEP 4: APPLY YOUR GREEN LIPSTICK

It’s time for the main show. Get your green lipstick on. Talk about fierce!

4. GREEN EYELINER

Not sure if green eyeshadow or lipstick is your thing? For a slightly subtler St. Patrick’s Day makeup look, consider adding a pop of green via a green eyeliner.

What you’ll need:

Eye primer

L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Endless Pearl

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof, Up to 24HR Pencil Eyeliner in Green

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara

Get the look by following these simple steps:

STEP 1: APPLY EYE PRIMER

You know what to do—smooth on an eye primer to create an even canvas for the rest of your eye makeup.

STEP 2: COLOR YOUR LIDS

Keep your lids simple to let your green eyeliner stand out. For this step, simply paint your lids with a shimmery champagne-colored eyeshadow.

STEP 3: LINE YOUR LIDS

It’s time for that green eyeliner we’ve been talking about! Use your green eyeliner pencil to line your upper lash line, creating a flick at the end for a touch of drama. If you want, you can gently smudge the line for a more carefree look.

STEP 4: LAYER ON MASCARA

Swipe on a few coats of mascara to boost your lash look. All done!

5. GREEN LASHES

Prefer to show your Irish pride through a green lash look? Don’t worry, we've got you covered.

What you’ll need:

Eye primer

L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Paris Beach

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof, Up to 24HR Pencil Eyeliner in Gold

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Original Washable Bold Eye Mascara in Deep Green

Get the look by following these simple steps:

STEP 1: PRIME YOUR EYES

Smooth on an eye primer to help your eye makeup last longer and appear more vibrant.

STEP 2: PAINT YOUR LIDS

Keep your eyeshadow simple by applying a matte nude shade on your lids.

STEP 3: LINE YOUR EYES

For a touch of glitz, line your lower lash line with a gold pencil eyeliner. Gently smudge the liner using your pinky or a cotton swab.

STEP 4: COLOR YOUR LASHES

Now, for the moment you’ve been waiting for, applying your green mascara! Swipe on a few coats to amp up the color and volume.

HOW TO ADD A ST. PATRICK’S DAY TWIST TO YOUR HAIR

Want to carry the green craze over to your strands? If you keep up with any of the latest hair color trends, then you’re no stranger to glitter roots and multi-tonal hair. Green hair with glitzy gold roots couldn't be more perfect of a fit for St. Paddy’s Day, and if you switch up the colors involved while still using the same technique, you’ll quickly find that this look is also perfect for any occasion where you want to add a little extra sparkle to your mane. We love it for festival season! Here’s how to get a green and gold look for yourself.

What you’ll need:

Rattail comb

L’Oréal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup Temporary 1-Day Hair Color in Green

L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Clean Style Gel

L’Oréal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup Temporary 1-Day Hair Color Spray in Gold

Gold glitter

Get the look by following these simple steps:

STEP 1: COLOR YOUR HAIR

When it comes to coloring your hair green, it’s a good idea to use a wash-out hair dye or hair makeup so that you don’t have to sport a green hue for days after the holiday. Also, using these wash-out methods makes it easier to quickly correct any mistakes you make along the way. To apply your hair makeup, simply use your fingers and apply onto the lengths and ends of your hair, working section by section.

STEP 2: PART YOUR HAIR

Once you’ve colored your hair, use a rattail comb to part your hair down the center or to the side—whichever you prefer.

STEP 3: APPLY HAIR GEL

Using a dye brush, spread some of the hair gel onto your roots, extending about an inch in every direction.

STEP 4: GILD YOUR ROOTS

Now, it’s time to turn your roots gold. Using your gold hair color spray, spray a light dusting of the gilded hue onto your roots up and down your part, holding the can four to six inches away while you spray.

STEP 5: SPRINKLE ON GLITTER

Before the spray completely dries, sprinkle gold glitter directly over the top of your roots to create your shimmering shamrock look.
