The day has finally come—it’s time to graduate! Along with choosing your dress and shoes, it’s time to think about how you want to do your makeup for your big day. Whether you want the focus to be on how luminous your skin looks, a gorgeous statement eye, or a power lip that indicates what a boss babe you are, below you’ll find ten graduation makeup ideas—including everything from foundation and concealer to statement-making lipstick—to bring your graduation makeup look together.
If you want to rock a luminous face makeup look, follow the steps below.
What you’ll need:
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Lock Makeup Primer
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender
L’Oréal Paris True Match™ Super-Blendable Multi-Use Concealer
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Longwear Shaping Foundation Makeup Sticks
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Longwear Shaping Highlighter Makeup Sticks
Get the look by following these simple steps:
Let’s be real, you don’t want to take the time to apply a face full of makeup if it’s only going to melt off during the day’s festivities. So, before applying any foundation or concealer, be sure to start your routine off with a radiant finish primer. Blend it onto your face, then move onto the next step.
Once your primer is on, use a makeup blender to stipple a radiant finish foundation onto your skin. Remember: Stipple or pat—never rub—if your goal is to achieve an airbrushed graduation makeup look.
Take a peek in the mirror and make note of what’s still peeking through your face makeup. On those areas, dab on some concealer and blend it out with a makeup blender.
Editor’s tip: You can also use a concealer one to two shades lighter than your skin tone under your eyes, down the bridge of your nose, and in the center of your forehead and chin for an instant brightening effect.
Once the base of your face makeup has been applied, it’s time to work a little contouring magic. To do so, swipe a makeup shaping stick (one that’s two to three shades darker than your skin) over the hollows of your cheeks, along the perimeter of your forehead, and down the sides of your nose. Blend out those harsh lines with a makeup blender and fall in love with just how angular your face can look with the help of a little strategic makeup.
To complete your dewy face makeup look, swipe a highlighter stick along your cheekbones, below your eyebrows, down the bridge of your nose, and just above your cupid’s bow. Voila!
If you want to rock a matte face makeup look for graduation, follow the steps below.

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Sweep & Lock Loose Setting Powder

Once again, start with primer for this makeup look. Choose a primer that has a matte finish to help keep shine at bay.
After applying primer, reach for a matte finish foundation and apply it with a makeup blender for a seamless look.
Use a makeup blender or concealer brush to apply concealer over any blemishes or other areas you’d rather not be noticeable on graduation day.
Now that you’re done adding cream products to your face, lock in your matte makeup look with an all-over dusting of face powder.
Instead of reaching for bronzer or contour, look to blush to help define your face. To get the look, dust some of our scented blush onto the apples of your cheeks, extending up toward your temples for a draped effect. Don’t stop there though, use a fluffy eye shadow brush to gently swipe some of the color along the inner edges of your eyebrows. Sure, it might sound crazy, but this is a tried-and-true, MUA-approved tip that can really help tie a face makeup look together.
You can’t go wrong with no makeup, makeup look—and that holds true for just about any occasion, including graduation.

Foundation blender or brush
L’Oréal Paris True Match™ Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops
Even when you’re opting for a barely-there makeup look, primer is essential. So, just as you normally would, apply your favorite makeup primer from forehead to chin so that your makeup will wear evenly throughout the day. Our pick? Use a priming face mist to quickly hit your whole complexion!
Forget about foundation, if you want to truly embrace the no makeup, makeup look, it’s best to reach for a BB cream or something along those same lines—like a lightweight highlighter lotion that’s designed to offer sheer coverage while creating the look of a luminous glow. Despite being lightweight and not technically a foundation, we recommend applying it with a foundation blender or brush for optimal results.
You know the drill: Dab concealer onto any dark spots, dark circles, or areas you crave a little extra brightening power. Blend with a makeup blender, using patting motions, then move on to the next step.
To keep things as glowy as can be, reach for liquid highlighter drops and blend them onto your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and right on the tip of your nose. And that’s it, a full face of gorgeous no makeup, makeup that’s super fuss-free!
Rosy cheeks and lips happen to be seriously on-trend at the moment, and there’s no reason you can’t rock them as part of your graduation makeup look. Want to learn more? Here’s a complete tutorial on this trend: Rosy Cheeks and Lips are In.

Take inventory of the bottom right shades in your palette. These are the colors you’ll use to bring your neutral smoky eye to life. The soft, natural hues will work together for an eye update that isn’t overdone—perfect for graduation.
To get the look, start by choosing three colors—a light, medium, and a dark shade. Then apply the medium color to your lid, blending it just beyond your crease.
Next, add some of the darker shade to your crease.
Top everything off by applying the lightest shade on the center of your lid between your lash line and your crease, as well as just under the tail end of your eyebrows.
From there, sculpt your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil.
Complete your neutral lid look with a quick swipe of lash primer, followed by mascara.
Pretty in peach—this is the perfect color palette for a sweet, sweet welcome to summer.
L’Oréal Paris Paradise Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette
Mascara
Start by choosing three peachy shades to complete your eye shadow with. Pick one light, one medium, and one dark shade.
Blend the medium peach hue onto your lids.
Next, sweep the darker shade into your crease before applying the lightest shade beneath your brows as a highlight.
Top your lids off with a coat of mascara and a small wing (if you’re feeling adventurous).
Let’s be real—nothing says, “School’s out and summer’s here,” quite like a bronzed makeup look. Celebrate your freedom and the start of a sun-filled season with a bronzed makeup look.
