How to Create a Festival Fairy Makeup Look for Halloween

Makeup Looks

As Halloween approaches, you’re likely scoping out the best long-wear makeup look to sport for the occasion. Lucky for you, we have a totally trendy idea to share: a festival fairy makeup look. From lipstick to semi-permanent hair color, keep reading to find out how to transform yourself into a festival fairy with this pretty Halloween makeup tutorial.

How to Get a Festival Fairy Makeup Look:

Fairies are totally in this Halloween, especially when you add a fun festival twist. Here’s our step-by-step tutorial for creating a festival fairy makeup look, plus, two optional steps to customize the look and show off your creative side.

Step #1: Add Some Shimmer

Start by applying the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Lock Makeup Primer to your face. Once your skin is primed and ready for makeup, use the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Galaxy Stick in Cosmic Pink to add shimmer to your face. First, highlight the apples of your cheeks, working up towards your temples. Then, add some extra glow by applying the highlighter to the bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow.

Step #2: Grab Your Eye Shadow

Once your face is radiant and glowing, it’s time to focus on your eye makeup! Apply the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Burst Into Bloom or Glistening Garnet to the crease of your eye, blending the color down onto your eyelid. Then, drag the same shadow along your lower lash line and the inner and outer corners of your eyes. Don’t put your brush down just yet; apply the eye shadow to the tip of your nose and chin to add a pop of color to your face.

Step #3: Line Your Eyes

To amp up your eye makeup, use the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Purple to line your waterline and lower lash line. Then, use the L’Oréal Paris Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in Black to create a thick wing on your upper lash line.

For a more neutral alternative, swap out your purple eyeliner for the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Brown. If purple liner isn’t really your thing, you can also opt to skip it in favor of using your eye shadow to highlight your cheekbones with a dash of purple.

Step #4: Coat Your Lashes

No eye makeup look is complete without a few coats of mascara! Use the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara in Black to give your lashes voluptuous volume and intense length.

Step #5: Paint Your Lips

To complete this Halloween makeup look, apply the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick in Plum Bum to your lips for a gorgeous, long-lasting purple pout. For a more neutral alternative, try the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick in Shake Down.

To take your lips to the next level, line the perimeter with your eyeliner and top them off by pressing a bit of purple shadow into your pout. You can also upgrade your look with extra shimmer and apply the L’Oréal Paris True Match™ Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops to the center of your lips.

Editor’s tip: If you want to help your makeup last all night long, we recommend finishing the look with the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray. Spray this makeup setting spray in an “X” and “T” motion over your face to ensure your festival fairy look appears “just applied” all night long.

Bonus Step: Add Details

Want to take this festival fairy look up a notch? You have a few options!

Option 1. Draw it out. Use a white eyeliner pencil to apply dots along the top of your eyebrows, down the bridge of your nose, and on your waterline.

Option 2. Bejewel yourself. Place stick-on jewels above your eyebrows for a fun touch.

Option 3. Change your color. Consider transforming your tresses—for just one night. You can also use the L’Oréal Paris Colorista 1-Day Spray (we suggest a pink shade) to temporarily change your hair’s hue. This temporary hair color will wash out in just one shampoo, making it the perfect option for completing a pretty Halloween makeup look.
