This year has brought more than a few changes to our lives and daily routines, and it's safe to say that it’s had an impact on our makeup routines too. With less places to go and events to get glam for, minimal makeup that makes us feel put together but not overdone has become a go-to. Quick and easy makeup has never felt more desirable, especially for anyone who has to wear multiple hats as mom, employee, home-schooler, caretaker and so much more.
Influencer, Raye Boyce, knows it all too well. Being a mom to a toddler, she’s had to alter her makeup routine to be more efficient so she can focus on running after her little one. She simplified her routine by reaching for minimal products that get the job done and stripping back some of the layers she used to do daily (including baking her face). That’s how she discovered a hack for applying foundation that makes fast, but flawless makeup simple to achieve.
“I love to use the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation, lightweight and mix it with primer so that I save time during my routine,” she says “This will literally make your face look so flawless and [your foundation] last all day!”
Combining your primer and foundation is a great way to eliminate steps and speed up your foundation routine. Simply mix one to two pumps of your foundation with equal parts primer. Swirl together and apply to the skin to create a flawless finish. By mixing your foundation with a glowy primer like the L’Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer, you can customize the finish of your foundation to make your skin appear more radiant. The more sheer and glowy you want your foundation to look, the more primer you should add to your mixture.
If you’re looking to achieve a more matte complexion, Boyce has an expert hack for that too.
“If you have oily skin and you want more of a mattified look add not only a little bit of your favorite primer but a tiny bit of setting powder. It’s like magic!” she says.
Simply mix in a bit of loose powder like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Sweep & Lock Loose Setting Face Powder in with your foundation to make the finish more matte. With this hack, it’s best to add little by little until you achieve the desired finish and texture.
