If you’re constantly keeping tabs on the latest makeup trends, you’ve likely seen the term ‘puppy liner’ floating around as of late. This Korean beauty trend has been taking the makeup scene by storm and is a completely new way to switch up your makeup look. Grab your eyeliner, ladies, and let your eye makeup do the talking.
This Korean makeup trend involves applying your eyeliner in a totally new fashion. The style allows your eyes to appear more wide, open, and “doe-eyed.”
Put your winged eyeliner and smudged eyeliner skills to the side and follow these simple steps to achieve a puppy liner look.
Korean beauty is all about having radiant, glowing skin. For this puppy liner makeup look, it’s only fitting to use a radiant foundation. Apply the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation using the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender for medium coverage and a glowing finish.
To complete the fresh-faced part of this look, grab a light pink blush, like the L’Oréal Paris True Match™ Blush in Baby Blossom, and apply it to the apples of your cheeks for a natural flush.
Use an eye primer to ensure your eye makeup will last all day long.
For this look, your eye shadow should enhance the overall look without drawing too much attention to itself. It’s basically no makeup, makeup—but only in terms of your eye shadow. Use the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Palette Eye Shadow in Boudoir Charme to get the look. Start by applying the lightest shade to your lid. Then, apply one of the medium brown shades to your crease for a little definition.
Use a pencil liner to gently tightline your upper waterline. The L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner in Brown is perfect for this look, as the brown shade isn’t too harsh.
Now that your upper lash line is tightlined, you should also line along your upper lash line using a liquid eyeliner. Use the L’Oréal Paris Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in Brown to create a thin line starting at the center of your lash line. Once you reach the outer corner of your eye, extend the line in a downward, slightly outward wing (as opposed to the traditional upward and outward wing). The line should stop so that the end is parallel with the inner corner of your eye.
To complete your puppy liner look, pick your brown eyeliner up once again. Start at the end of your downward wing and draw a line along your lower lash line, stopping about a quarter of the way in. Use a small flat top eye shadow brush to gently smudge your liner for a softer effect.
To take the look a step further, line your waterline using the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner in Nude to make your eyes appear even bigger and more awake.
Grab a voluminous and lengthening mascara, like the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara in Black Brown, and apply a few coats to your lashes starting at the base and following through to the tips.
Complete the look by using the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick Balm in Pink Satin for sheer, light pink coverage.
There you have it! A new eyeliner trend to rock as part of your next makeup look.
