Easy Eye Shadow Looks to Try for Spring Easy Eye Shadow Looks to Try for Spring Easy Eye Shadow Looks to Try for Spring

Applying eye shadow can be tricky. And just how exactly are you supposed to get the perfect smoky eye if you can’t even nail a simple one eye shadow look yet? With these shadow struggles in mind, we thought it was the time we went over some of the basics. The good news is that you don’t have to be a pro to get makeup that’s worthy of an A-lister. From a bold blue to a metallic rose gold, here are the five easy eye shadow looks you can totally master this spring.

1. Bold Blues

Got a case of the blues because you can’t seem to find an eye shadow color that’s worthy of a night out? Use that as inspiration and turn your blues into a fierce eye shadow look!

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Start by applying a white eye shadow primer to your lids. This can help prep your lids and help make the blue hue pop even more!

Step 2: Apply a blue eye shadow, like the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Eye Shadow in Aqua Aura, to your lids, blending it upward past the crease.

Step 3: Apply the same shade to your lower lash line.

Step 4: Finish off by lining your waterline (a.k.a. the inside of your lower lash line) with a black pencil eyeliner, like the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Black.

2. Rose Gold

One color that continues to stay on trend for Spring 2017 is rose gold. From jewelry all the way to our ombré hair, it’s safe to say that rose gold is here to stay. Want to embrace this pretty color? Help make your eyes stand out by using a rose gold eye shadow.

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Prime your lids with a white shadow pencil.

Step 2: Apply a rose gold eye shadow, like the L'Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Amber Rush, to your lids.

Step 3: Finish off with a coat of volumizing mascara, like the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara, and you’ll be good as gold—rose gold, that is!

3. Metallic Hues

We’re loving the look of metallic eye shadow at the moment. Jazz up your little black dress by adding some metallic accents to your eyes.

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Prep your lids with an eye makeup primer to help create a smooth canvas for your eye shadow and liner.

Step 2: Dust your lids with a brown eye shadow from the L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude. Don’t overdo it—keep things subtle!

Step 3: Use a glitter liquid eyeliner to paint small dots along your lower lid. Continue painting the small dots until you create something like a cat eye.

4. Sunset Smoky Eye

Looking for a smoky eye that’s different from the rest? We’ve got the answer! It’s the sunset smoky eye, inspired by the deep burgundy, burnt orange, and dusty yellows of a sunset.

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again! Prime your lids with an eye makeup primer.

Step 2: Use an eye shadow brush to apply a burgundy eye shadow all over your lid. Make sure to blend the color upward to the crease.

Step 3: Dust a light layer of the burgundy eye shadow along your lower lash line.

Step 4: Now it’s time to layer on the orange and yellow eye shadows. Start with by applying the orange eyeshadow to your crease, blending it in with a fluffy eye shadow brush in side-to-side motions. Then, gently dust yellow eye shadow just above your crease. Be sure to buff it out.

Step 5: Lastly, use a black liquid eyeliner, like the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Paints Eyeliner in Black Party, to draw a cat eye.

5. Red Smoky Eye

Paint the town red with a smoky eye that makes a bold statement.

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: By now you should know the drill. Prep those lids with an eye makeup primer!

Step 2: Apply a dark red eye shadow to your upper lid from your lashes to crease.

Step 3: Apply the same eye shadow to your lower lash line with an angled brush.

Step 4: Diffuse the eye shadow with a smudge brush on both your upper and lower eyelids.

Step 5: Line your upper lash line with a matte black eyeliner pencil. Then, line your lower lash line with a metallic eggplant eyeliner.

Step 6: Coat your lashes with a volumizing mascara, like the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, and get ready for a fun night out!
