When it comes to styling your hair, products are everything. In fact, using the right ones can seriously transform your look, whether you decide to air dry your hair, blow it out for voluminous-looking locks, do a side braid, or create a fancy-schmancy updo for a party. And one of our favorite styling products to achieve a variety of hairstyles happens to be mousse. If mousse isn’t on your radar, it should be, since it can help to enhance your hair’s natural shape and texture, while providing hold. Ready to get started? Try the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle AIR DRY IT Ruffled Body Mousse and get to work on these three gorgeous hairstyles:

1. Halo Braid

Braids are super-popular these days, and the good news is that they’re oh-so-easy to make.
Give regular braids an angelic twist by trying out ethereal halo braids. While they may look complicated to create, it turns out they’re surprisingly simple to master.

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris AIR DRY IT Ruffled Body Mousse
Hair clips to section off your locks
Bobby pins
Hair brush
Hair elastics
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Fine Control Hairspray

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner.

Step 2: Apply the L’Oréal Paris AIR DRY IT Ruffled Body Mousse to wet hair, evenly distributing it from roots to ends and let it air dry. Once your hair is completely dry, use a brush to detangle any knots that may have formed along the way.

Step 3: Next, create a middle parting and separate your hair into two sections. Secure one section with a hair clip while you work on the other. That way it won’t get in your way.

Step 4: Take the loose section and start at the nape of your neck. Split this section into three strands and cross each of the strands underneath each other to create a Dutch braid. Usually, with a regular French braid, you would cross them over each other, so note how this technique is different.

Step 5: Keep braiding to the side of your head, making sure to keep the braid tight as you go.

Step 6: Once you’ve worked your way across the top of your forehead and finished the braid, secure it with a hair tie. Leave the braid as is and let it hang there until you finish the other braid. If you’re worried about the braid coming undone, use another hair clip to secure it at the top of your head until the second braid is complete.

Step 7: Now it’s time to work on the second section of your hair. Instead of the bottom, start braid at the top of the head. Repeat the process on this side and split this section into three parts to create a Dutch braid. Work your way around the side of your head and finish at the nape of your neck. Secure the braid with a hair tie.

Step 8: Create the halo by pulling one of the braids from left to right over the top of your head and secure with a bobby pin. The braid should rest a couple of inches from your forehead. Then pull the second braid from right to left and secure it with a bobby pin. The second braid should be pushed up against the first one. And there you have it—an angelic look that puts other braids to shame!

Step 9: Don’t let all your hard work go to waste, apply a little hairspray, like the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Fine Control Hairspray, to help keep your crown in place.

2. Half-Up, Half-Down Twist

The whole half-up, half-down look has been a major hair trend recently. So much so, that some people are claiming the ‘90s are making a comeback (we’d happen to agree!). While the half-up bun is a fun, laidback style, it’s not really practical for formal occasions. The next time you have an event like a fancy dinner or a wedding to attend, give the half-up, half-down twist a whirl instead.

Step 2: Apply the L’Oréal Paris AIR DRY IT Ruffled Body Mousse to wet hair, letting it air dry.

Step 3: Once your hair is completely dry, take two three-inch-wide sections of hair from either side of your forehead. Bring both pieces to meet at the back of your head.

Step 4: Twist both sections of hair around each other twice and then use a couple of bobby pins to keep them in place.

Step 5: To give your hair a romantic, effortless vibe, pull a couple of tendrils free near the front.

Step 6: Help your hairstyle stay in place with a spritz of the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Fine Control Hairspray and you’re all set!

3. Voluminous Low Ponytail

Another hairstyle that works great for a night out on the town is a voluminous low ponytail. It gets your hair off your face but isn’t boring like a regular ol’ ponytail. Want to hear the best part about this hairstyle? It takes seconds to create, and we’re showing you how to hide your hair tie.

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Wash your hair with L’Oréal Paris EverCurl HydraCharge Shampoo and L’Oréal Paris EverCurl HydraCharge Conditioner.

Step 2: Apply the L’Oréal Paris AIR DRY IT Ruffled Body Mousse to your hair and let it air dry.

Step 3: Once your hair is completely dry, pull it into a low ponytail just at the nape of your neck. Secure it with a hair tie.

Step 4: If you’re looking to take the volume up a notch, gently tug at the top of your ponytail (near the roots) to add even more body.

Step 5: Now it’s time for our wonderful magic trick that conceals your hair tie and makes your ponytail look fuller. Take a small section of your hair from underneath, about two inches wide, and wrap it around the base of your ponytail. Finish off by secure it with a bobby pin. It’s that simple!

Step 6: You know the drill by now! Apply your hairspray to keep everything together. Lastly, take a second and have a look in the mirror to enjoy the masterpiece you’ve created. See, who says you need to be professional to have great hair?
