Wedding attire is pretty classic. After all, white dresses and gorgeous updos are pretty much a tale as old as time. Now, when it comes to bridesmaids, there’s a bit more room to play around with dresses, makeup, and—our personal favorite—hairstyles. If you’re part of a loved one’s celebration, you’ll surely want your beauty look to be on point when you’re walking down the aisle, and we can help. Whether you have short hair, medium-length hair, or long hair, we’ve rounded up seven bridesmaid hairstyles you’ll want to get on your radar. Pick your favorite and prepare to help your BFF say “I do” in style!
Whereas updos used to be ultra-smooth coifs, nowadays it can be quite fun to play with texture. Alas, we have the messy low updo.
What you’ll need:
L’Oréal Paris EverPure Volume Shampoo
L’Oréal Paris EverPure Volume Conditioner
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Air-Blown Texture Mist
Rat tail comb
L’Oréal Paris Elnett Precious Oil Satin Hairspray
Get the look:
As messy as this hairstyle may look, it’s important to start with freshly washed hair for your bestie’s big day. To achieve the lived-in texture necessary for this look, start by washing your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. After towel-drying your hair, spritz strands with a texturizing hair spray and rough dry your hair on the cool setting to avoid having frizz form.
Create a side part and brush your hair straight back. Then, to give your hair a little added height, backcomb your roots. Use a rat tail comb to gently tease your roots under the top-most layer of hair. Leave a two-inch section of hair out of the way—that’s what you’ll use for the braid you’re about to create.
Using the two-inch section that’s still free, weave a loose braid that lays gracefully, going from just behind your hairline to the base of where you’ll begin your low updo.
This part you can probably do in your sleep—create a low pony. Once your hair is pulled back, don’t worry about it looking perfect. In fact, try adding a little extra unruly volume by sticking the tail end of your rat tail comb into the hair at the crown of your head for a bigger, more beautiful hairstyle.
Now that your ponytail is tied off, it’s time to turn it into an updo. To get the look, simply pin your hair up around the base of your ponytail, paying no regard to it looking perfectly put together. In other words, the messier the better.
Once your hairdo looks perfectly imperfect, seal it in place with a quick spritz of hair spray. Not only will hair spray help lock your look in place, but it’ll add enviable shine, too.
Another more carefree bridesmaid hairstyle, a side-swept fishtail braid is equally as stunning as it is easy to create. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a romantic style that’ll keep your mane out of the way.

Wavy hairstyles are having a serious moment here in 2019, so why not showcase one on your BFFL’s (yes, for life!) big day?
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle AIR DRY IT Wave Swept Spray
After you shampoo and condition your strands in the shower, towel dry them and give them a good spritz of wave spray. To help accentuate your textured waves, scrunch from your ends up to your roots.
Using your fingers—never a brush!—gently situate your hair into a middle or side part. You choose!
To complete this ethereal hairdo, pin back an inch or two section on each side of your part. While you can certainly hide your bobby pins for a slightly more elegant look, don’t forget that visible pins are a major craze right now, so they won’t take away from your overall look. In fact, you may want to consider using decorative pins and adding a few more than you really need to hold your hair—it’s super chic!
Sometimes sticking with what’s tried and true is the way to go. Straighten your locks for a foolproof bridesmaid hairstyle that won’t take away from your gorgeous makeup look.

It’s no secret that we love a good updo—especially the kind that have been dominating our social feeds lately. If you want to get your hair out of your face in a no-fuss way, allowing your makeup and accessories to stand front and center, look no further than this super simple hairstyle.
After you hop out of the shower and towel dry your hair, spritz your locks with a texturizing hair spray, then rough dry your hair the rest of the way. Once hair is dry, give it a good backcomb using a rat tail comb to enhance texture and volume.
Skip the brush, and use your hands to pull your hair straight back, making sure not to pull too tight, which might minimize the look of your volume. Tie your hair off into a ponytail with a hair tie.
Tightly coil the ends of your ponytail into a bun, then pin in place. Once your bun is secured, you can rough it up a little, pulling certain pieces free and tugging here and there to build volume—this will help give your bun the same lived-in look that you created by backcombing at the crown of your head.
Seal your voluminous look with a touch of volumizing hair spray. Et voila—you’re officially wedding-ready.
Now that your hair will look point, it’s time to make sure your makeup will too. Here’s The Best Wedding Makeup for Blush Bridesmaid Dresses and Wedding Dresses.
