Braids: There’s just something about them. Luckily for us, they’re super-easy to create which means, while perfect for everyone, they’re especially handy for the lazy girls of the world. Sure, there are braids that definitely take a bit more skill than others, but when it comes to creating a quick and on-the-go hairstyle that looks a lot more difficult than it really is, there are a handful of plaits that really do the trick. Whether you have short hair, medium-length hair, or long hair, below we share three braids that make getting out the door while looking put together easier than ever.

Lazy Braided Hairstyle #1: Pulled-Back Elfin Braids

This easy braid has an ethereal vibe that is sure to turn heads.

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris EverPure Frizz-Defy Shampoo

L’Oréal Paris EverPure Frizz-Defy Conditioner

Clear elastics

Bobby pins

L’Oréal Paris Elnett Precious Oil Sating Hairspray

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Start with freshly washed hair. If you’re a lazy girl, any products that will cut down on styling time are your BFF. That being said, if you have the time, shampoo and condition your hair first, then let it air dry.

Step 2: Part your hair down the middle. But then, once you reach the back half of your head, brush your hair straight back over your crown.

Step 3: Braid a section of hair on either side of your part. Grab 1- to 2-inch sections of hair on both sides of your part and weave a traditional three strand braid with each, finishing each off with a clear elastic.

Step 4: Pin your braids back. Instead of just pulling them back and pinning them in place, start by first pinning each braid to the opposite side of the back of your head. Then, curve the remaining part of the braid back over the back of your head, making sure to tuck the remaining un-braided ends underneath the braids for a truly elfin look.

Step 5: Finish with high-shine hairspray. Give your full ‘do a quick spritz of hair spray and you’re ready to slay your day.

Lazy Braided Hairstyle #2: Braided Bun

Love a good messy bun but want to look like you tried a little harder? Allow us to introduce you to the braided bun.

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo

Hair tie

Bobby pins

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Refresh your hair. Roll out of bed and give your strands a solid spritz of dry shampoo to help absorb any excess oil at the roots.

Step 2: Pull your hair straight back. Smooth your hair down and tie your hair into a low pony at the base of your neck.

Step 3: Braid your bun. Simply braid your pony, spin it around itself and pin it in place. Does it get any easier?

Lazy Braided Hairstyle #3: Milkmaid Braids

If you’re rolling your eyes thinking we’re trying to trick you into a tough hairstyle, think again! Believe it or not, milkmaid braids are a lot easier than you might think.

What you’ll need:

L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Air-Blown Texture Mist

Clear elastics

Bobby pins

L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Fine Control Hairspray

Get the look by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Create a little texture. Whenever you’re working with braids, it’s best to enhance your texture to help your plaits stay in place. To get the texture you’re looking for, instead of back combing your strands, just spray them with a texturizing spray.

Step 2: Part and braid your hair. Use your fingers to separate your hair right down the middle. From there, braid each side of your hair and secure the ends of each pigtail with a clear elastic. Before moving on to the next step, pancake each braid to make them extra thick and pull out a few face framing strands. These will add an extra pretty, romantic touch to your beauty look.

Step 3: Pin up your braids. One braid at a time, pull it up and over the mid-section of the top of your head, pinning it in place as you go, making sure to camouflage the elastic and un-braided ends. Do the same with the other braid.

Step 4: Finish with hairspray. You want this hairstyle to look soft and feminine, so steer clear of any lacquer-like spray and opt for a fine mist hair spray instead.

Now that you’ve mastered gorgeous hair that’s actually super-simple to create, why not do the same for your skin care routine? Check out our article, The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Taking Care of Your Skin, to learn how.
