This is the best. Do NOT discontinue this. Everytime I try something else, I'm regretting it. It doesn't dry my color-treated wavy thick hair, or make it raspy. It calms frizz and curl, makes it shiny and soft, and makes styling it a breeze. Just comb through, sculpt into place, let it dry, then run your hands through it for the fina...l adjustments.

Have used this for years. I have tried very other gel out there for curly hair... This is the best by far, but I've heard rumors they are discontinuing it? Please, please, please say it isn't so!

The New Year started off bad... REALLY bad. On January 2, I headed up to Walgreens to buy a couple of tubes of Melting Gel only to learn that they stopped carrying the product line. It was the last place selling it. I couldn't find it at CVS, Rite-Aid, Target, Kroger... nowhere! Panic set in. But in the interim, I needed some gel! I... tried EVERY brand; investing hundreds of dollars in gels. In my desperation (and weeks of bad hair days) I was even paying $20-$40 a tube (and using it only once). Melting Gel blows away even the most expensive of "Designer" name brands. I have long, thick (very thick), loose-curly hair (down to my butt) and have been using Melting Gel for better than a decade! Thank God for the internet. I had to go online and order it by the case! And it seemed like it took forever to arrive. My head was a mess. Every other brand was sticky and left my hair stiff and frizzy and knotted. When I'd wash it, it felt like hay. It resulted in knots and having to pull large, knotted clumps of hair out when rinsing. Some of them almost made my hair look plastic. Melting Gel is soft and smooth and provides soft, luxurious curls with perfect hold. When I wash my hair the next morning it feels like I've already run conditioner through my hair. Any knots slip right out. I was so happy when my shipment arrived that I felt compelled to come out and write a raving review! In fear that some day L'Oreal might discontinue the product line altogether (perish the thought). Those of you with thick, curly, course, and/or frizzy hair... give this gel a try! It'll be the only gel you'll buy thereafter!

I have very curly hair and Melting Gel is the only product that I use. It allows my hair to curl naturally without stiffness or stickiness. Occasionally I cannot find it at the store and try another gel, but I never like it as much as Melting Gel. Since it doesn't have alcohol it doesn't dry my hair either. I have two daughters with ...the same curly hair and they love Melting Gel too. They even use it to straighten their hair so it's a great all around product.
